America's Next Top Model returns tonight for season cycle 11, which is funny, because I don't even feel like Tyra and her band of merry Jays were off my TV for that long. Did you miss them?
Regardless, ANTM is back, and so to prepare myself for the manic energy of this modeling show, I dug up some clips and reacquainted myself with Ms. Banks. And oh my gosh, is she full of craziness still. In the first clip, she's actually chasing a young contestant from Alaska around the judging room pretending to be a moose. The noises she makes are . . . I just . . . wow. You really just have to watch it. Also, be sure to note Jay Manuel's new hairstyle and let me know your initial reaction (did you flinch like I did?).
In the second clip Tyra talks us through her impressions of some of the new faces we'll meet tonight. She describes one model as too pretty and that it's their job on ANTM to give her that "ugly top model pretty and take away that pretty pretty." She also points out that one model has "that ghostly face, like that scary face" and that another has "got a Victoria's Secret runway model look."

This is the show that I love to hate on, but love to watch. My best friend and I always joke that one cycle is over for like 2 weeks before another one starts because she does run these cycles back to back. But although I didn't have much time to miss it, I'm glad its coming back on and my DVR is all set!
1Oh and definitely raised my eyebrows at Jay Manuels new look...I hope that doesn't last all season. Ms. Jay's hair is as usual a hot mess, and Tyra's hair is actually kind of cute--I like the cut on her.
2I didn't know until a couple days ago that this show was already coming back! It really wasn't that long ago that the last season ended.. aren't you supposed them leave 'em wanting more? Regardless, I'll be watching. I've been really hating Tyra lately, but I just can't not watch.
3Ummm. I moved out of my parents' house, and I don't have a DVR anymore. So I think my ANTM viewing may fall by the wayside. Both Jay's look ridiculous. Even Tyra looks ridiculous.
4i think that it's truly funny to watch the audition show - the first one since the contestants will do just about anything to get noticed. hopefully i'll be able to watch some of it tonight though if i can manage to coerce my fiance to deal...

9I love how in the first hour, Clark says she'll stop at nothing to manipulate girls to win.... And in the second hour, she says McKey needs to calm down because McKey wouldn't tell her what bureaucracy means.
And I think Marjorie is beautiful, but if she could just.... stop talking, I'd appreciate it. I found Heather amazing and yet painful to watch... Marjorie doesn't have the same charm.
10I'm watching it now and growing more and more angry at how some of the girls are treating Isis. I generally don't mesh well with cattiness, but cattiness intentionally aimed at someone simply because they're different really bothers me. The taunting behind the screen during her photo shoot made me want to turn.
