The new 90210 just kicked off here on the West Coast, and I'm so excited — about a 9 on the 9-2-1-0 scale, in fact — to see the show that comes from these months of anticipation. What will adult Kelly be like? Will the new kids be endearing or annoying? And how scandalous will the show get? Let's get to chatting in the comments!

WICHITA SHOUT OUT!!!!!
1The music is cracking me up. This will always and forever be recognizable as a show that aired sometime between June and September 2008.
2That theater flashback was kind of amazing. And Arrested Development-esque. Oh and now the theme music!
3well i have to say that the show exceeded my expectations. i was really excited about the prospect of this show for such a long time and then with all the hype i was starting to get bored with it - but now - well - i'm kind of into it.
i think that they are trying too hard to make the non-BH family fit in, but i guess that's the premise of the show right? i'm warning you that i might share a bit more than the trailers have lead on.....
now a few things that i got REALLY excited about....
ERIN - did anyone else figure Erin to be a part of the show? (i.e. silver - aka...david silver's sister too)
HANNAH - um...i didn't think that hannah (andrea's daughter' would be there - i wonder if that means that we'll see the parents guest star?
besides that - well there are so many plot twists that i can see happening....
i can't wait to hear how dylan is wound into the mix - it seems like he and kelly aren't 100% ? hnmm...go figure.
4Liz Phair doing the music!!!
5Oh, Nat. He's so old and befuddled by modern machinery!
Did Harry date all of LA?
I think the musical theater bit is my favorite moment so far.
Silver's cute!
Speaking of cute: Ryan Eggold. Hot as teacher, hotter as lacrosse coach.
6It'll be a bit before I catch up to you guys since I wanted to TiVo through commercials, but yay! Aunt Becky!
7The Vicious Circle = SO Gossip Girl.
8Is it just me or does the girl playing Annie look a lot like Emma Roberts?
9Buzz- I just caught up with everything you said in comment #6 and I totally agree with it all! Silver is adorable!
10OMG, the verbatim plagiarism was predictable, but reading it aloud was AMAZING.
11On looks ALONE, perfect casting with Lori Loughlin and Shaenae GRimes. They really do look like mother and daughter!
12I'm meh so far. Just want to see Kelly and Brenda. Hey, where is our favorite twin from Minnesota?
13I should hope Tilly and the Wall would never actually play a Sweet 16 — for their sake!
Who doesn't want Tabitha Wilson as their grandma?
14I said this in the blog in my 90210 group *shameless plug*....BUT, I am not that impressed with the "hottie" Ethan.
15Not a credible Sweet 16. Naomi didn't even do a poorly executed solo dance recital. Have we learned nothing from "My Super Sweet 16?"
16JennaV, link me to your 90210 group! I want to join!
OK, that's the end of part one for us West Coasters. So far, it's exceeding my expectations. Am I crazy? Were my expectations just really low?
17How did they get to the beach? Beverly Hills is nowhere near the beach. Did Naomi use schools of choice to get from her Santa Monica mansion to Beverly Hills High? I guess it is WEST Beverly Hills. Really, really WEST.
18I know mine were super low and I'm pleasantly surprised so far. But it's not hooking me the same way that Gossip Girl did with it's first episode. That was instant love, this one might take some time.
19As a huge fan of The Wire, Tristan Wilds keeps making me think he's about to call Chris, Snoop, and Marlo to regulate. That might make this more exciting.
20We'd love to have you, Buzz!

Note to Annie: Never data anyone named Ted, Todd or Ty. Especially if he looks like a douchebag on wheels.
22Ted Collins looks like a tall piece of amazing-ness.
23I loved it. I didn't think I would but it was really good. I loved the music, and the shots of the city. The characters are interesting and I can't wait for more. I wish my life was even a fraction as exciting as some of the characters but whatever, good entertainment.
24I am really enjoying the video producer/video game guy in this episode. His dad produces porn! He hates lacrosse boys!
Also, I am dying to know what San Francisco restaurant Annie and this boy went to!
25Who knew that San Francisco had fancy Italian restaurants?
26to be honest, i didnt like it a whole lot. lets just say, i feel asleep. but i am still willing to give it another try with about two more episodes.
27I hope it was Mel's Diner, and it was totally inexplicable why Ty spoke Italian.

29The Confessions of a Shopaholic trailer just made this second hour worthwhile.
30Shopaholic Preview!!!!!!!
31Oh, and btw Dixon, pulling the same prank that your father did when he was in high school can in NO WAY be traced back to you! That would be crazy!
32Brenda!
33Ethan is the ugliest hottie of all time.
34How is this Shopaholic trailer not online yet? The East Coast has had three hours to get their piracy on!
35My dad had an affair, and all I got was this lousy tattoo!
36Anyone else feeling like the two-hour "event" was maybe a bad choice? I'm getting tired.
37I agree, it definitely should have just been that first ep.
38If this were actually a two-hour episode instead of two regular episodes back-to-back, it might work a little better. But yeah. SO BORED.
Why is Brenda in this scene? Shannen Doherty is such a terrible actress.
39Gasp! No texting!
40No coffee money!
41I haven't discussed this here before, but I totally believe in intra-show continuity. So I think it's despicable that Aunt Becky is cheating on Uncle Jessie with the high school principal.
42Oh noes! Teh Pentapod fails!
43How long until the first Annie/Silver lesbian plot line?
44That last hour was pretty lackluster, but I think I'll still tune in next week.
45I have no will power when it comes to these teeny bopper shows.
46Ugh I'm so torn! I don't know if I should watch. I was going to then I wasn't then I said nothing comes on Tuesdays anyway but I didn't remember until 8:45! Should I catch the repeat.. .hmmm...
47FYI: People from Kansas do NOT use the phrase: Ain't in Kansas anymore!!!
48snobby — my opinion is that it's worth watching, but I wouldn't do two back to back! It's kind of a lot to take. And the premiere isn't actually a two-hour episode, just two episodes back-to-back.
49I will give it a chance and watch a few more episodes, but I wasn't that impressed. Too many storylines, stereotypical characters, and there was no one I could relate to. I liked seeing Brenda and Kelly again, but their storyline seemed uneven with the rest of the show. I liked the hot teacher, Mr. Matthews, though! In fact, I thought he was the only attractive male on the show (except maybe Rob Estes, but he is a little too old for me).
