HBO has a new antihero — and this time, he's a cartoon. In September, the network will premiere the animated show The Life and Times of Tim, a comedy about a 20-something who can't seem to get it right. And by "it," I mean "anything, at all, ever."
Tim's not a slacker, exactly. He's trying to do the right thing. But, as the show's official site puts it, "life's little challenges always manage to demand the most offensive solutions, which wouldn't be such a problem if he weren't continually caught red-handed." Tim wants to do the right thing — but in his world, those tend to be things like sexually harassing a co-worker at the request of his boss. Even in clips, The Life and Times of Tim is pretty raunchy (imagine The Office if every character were R-rated), but that only adds to the awkward tone the show seems to be striving for.
The clips made me chuckle, but mostly, I'm really enjoying the character descriptions on the show's website. Tim's co-worker Stu: "He's actually kind of ambitious, but for all the wrong reasons. He wants to receive credit for a dirty joke he wrote, he wants to get on TV at the Giants game by painting his body blue and streaking. Things like that. Poorly focused energy." Hee.
The show premieres Sept. 28 at 11 p.m. To check out a couple of clips and let me know if you'll be watching, just read more.

Hahaha. This looks like it will be really funny. I'll definitely check it out when it premieres...
1The clips make me laugh; I'll try it for sure.
