As most of you know, I've got my head buried in entertainment news all day and so — I'm not going to lie — sometimes when I turn on Comedy Central at night at watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report I'm definitely looking to learn about the news of the day from comedians.

I felt a little less guilty about this when I read a recent New York Times profile of Jon Stewart that calls his show "a genuine cultural and political force," and notes that in a study about the most admired journalists in America, Jon Stewart came in fourth place.
I find this kinda funny considering neither Stewart nor Colbert is an actual journalist. Do you get your news from Comedy Central's fake news shows?

I don't get my news from them, but I do look to them for amusing (and often quite sharp and insightful) commentary on the news stories of the day.
1I read news on the internet, then watch these shows when I can.
2Most of the time however they aren't my only source of news. I go online to Newsvine, The Washington Post, I watch CNN or MSNBC.
However I do prefer online and Stewart/Colbert since they reveal the truth more often then those lying a**es we call hosts/journalists. Steawart/Colbert aren't following a political agenda so their break down of events and opinions tend to be right on the money. By going online I can find actual news, not the latest Britney scandal on Fox.
3I love Colbert and Stewart IN ADDITION to my news. They make the news enjoyable.
4I love them both. I get my main news from NPR but I love hearing their take on the news every night.
5I usually just watch BBC News and then check funny clips on youtube of Colbert and Stewart.
6They are extremely smart and witty and their news are usually pretty bipartisan in the fact that they make fun of both democrats and republicans but I read a lot of online as well.
7NPR is my main source, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Stephen Colbert. I kinda cringe a little when Jon Stewart tries to get serious on his show, but it's still enjoyable most of the time.
8Did I mention that I love Stephen Colbert?
9I am amazed that people actually think Colbert and Stewart aren't following a political agenda and are bipartisan. I'm guessing the people who think that are liberal. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that I know people in general tend to notice bias less when it favors their own point of view.)
10no - i've actually never really paid much attention to either person - i know that a lot of people really enjoy watching them but for me - it's just not my cup of tea and i'd rather check out other sources.
11I get all of my news from TV news channels and mostly the internet.
12As a journalism student, I say thank goodness for all the people behind The Daily show and Colbert Report. They've brought an element of fun back into journalism. The shows may be silly, but they educate Americans on so many political issues that aren't even touched upon in our everyday media, let alone paid attention to!
