Clint Eastwood's period drama, Changeling (or The Exchange, depending on who you ask) premiered at Cannes and succeeded in impressing the critics, some of whom claim that Angelina Jolie may be looking at an Oscar nomination for her starring role. There's still no trailer for the film which is supposed to open in limited release October 24, but we do have a clip to check out.
The movie is set in the late-1920s and is based on true events. Jolie plays Christine Collins, a mother whose son has gone missing. A boy shows up claiming to be her son, but isn't, and Christine must then fight against corrupt police officers and shady reporters in her frantic search for answers. In addition, she fights the unfair restrictions and expectations placed on women during this era.
According to US Magazine, Jolie based her characterization of Christine on her own mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died of cancer in January 2007.
The clip shows the heartbreaking moment when Christine meets the young boy who is not her son. To watch, read more.

Looks good, I want to see a trailer though.
1I'm not usually a fan of her movies but this sounds like an intriguing story.
2Likewise, I honestly am not a Jolie fan, but this film may convert me, at least once. The story sounds interesting and the brief clip pulled me in. I'll give it--and her--a chance.
3Looks good, and I'd love to see a 20s drama.
4I saw this clip a couple months ago, but it looks pretty good. I wonder if Angelina will get another Academy Award nomination
5There was a book years ago called "The Changeling" I think written by Stephen King. Does anyone know if this movie is based on that book? I want to see it, but with her in it, I don't know.
6Looks interesting!!! I definitely plan to see this one!!!
7Mykie7, it's based on a real story. King is only fiction
You can read more about
Christine Collins here: http://movie-openings.blogspot.com/2008/05/legacy-of-mothers-love-christ...
8Thanks Dream, if I'd have read the post FIRST I'd have noticed that. LMAO
Thanks for the info!
9Oh my god! Thats the guy from Burn Notice, I love him!
10Oh I LOVE the guy from Burn Notice too!! So gorgeous!
11There was also a great ghost movie The Changeling starring George C Scott.. one of the best in my opinion. People are also trying to confuse this movie with that one.
Can't wait for this .. I have read about the Wineville Chicken Murders and what happened to Christine and I am surprised it took this long for them to make a movie of it..
It should be good.
12Ima, I think THAT'S the one that was based on the book. Because I can't remember for SURE who the writer was, but I do remember it was a mystery of sorts.
13I love Angie but not fan of all her movies but Eastwood is differn't. I cannot think of one film he directs I have not loved. I think Million Dollar Baby is my top one but Changeling may beat it.
14I'm a major Jolie fan, so I'm looking forward to this -- it looks pretty good
15Clint Eastwood is my favorite actor and director that's why I'll watch.
16Definitely looking forward to seeing this one.
17Can't wait to see this. Maybe Jeffrey Donovan will finally be recognized as being the fabulous actor he is.
18I really wanna see this movie too it looks interesting!!!
19Anything that can make me get a chance to see AJ and hear her unique voice I am in. So definately I will watch it!!
20I was sad I missed Wanted but this I will make sure I don't miss. I love Angelina Jolie.lol
21I love that clip it looks like its a really touching movie I can't wait to see it.
