For my money, the best video I've seen for Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" wasn't actually a video at all — it was the trailer NBC showed for Kings at the TCA press tour, which used the song's swells to perfect effect while showing off the modern-day David and Goliath story. That clip hasn't surfaced online yet, sadly, but now two actual videos for the title track from this Summer's album have.
One (the official-official version, on the left here) is very similar to the iTunes commercial using the song, while the other (an alternate take, on the right, directed by Anton Corbijn) finds Chris Martin wandering all lost like in regal garb. So, which do you prefer?

I get the concept of both videos, honestly I was expecting much more, The song is amazing, (the vids were kind of a let down) in the end I think the Itunes commercial was WAY BETTER.
1who cares? the whole album is AMAZING.
2I like the second. I think it's a cute concept, and the style reminds me of the video for their song The Scientist. The first seems to be lacking something.
3I like the one on the right, it is definitely more interesting and playful than the first one.
4Didn't Anton Corbijn make a very (VERY) similar video for Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence?"
5good call sassette
6official for me
7I prefer the latter of the two
8Is Anton recycling his ideas or what?
9Carbon copy of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" anyone?
both!
10Now that I've actually seen "Enjoy the Silence," I have to say that it's obviously a copy. But I mean that the band's playing homage to Depeche Mode's video, not that they went around thinking this was an original video. That's why it's not the official-official video.
11Sure, I'm just thinking Anton doesn't have such original ideas as he used to have in the 80/90.
12Actually the homage is nice but I'd like to see something groundbraking from him in a new way - like original Enjoy the silence was, Walking in my shoes or Nirvana's Heart-shaped box...
The official video looks like the iTunes one but color.
Personally, I like the iTunes one the best.
13The tribute to Enjoy the Silence is amazing. Seriously, great great idea.
