Though it may not be a cinematic masterpiece, the third Mummy movie is a fairly lighthearted summertime action flick that most of the family can see, and will probably do pretty well at the box office this weekend. But will it be able to break The Dark Knight's reign as No. 1 movie?
According to Variety, "Box office observers believe director Rob Cohen's Dragon Emperor has a good shot at coming in No. 1," even though "Dark Knight remains a juggernaut as it heads into its third session."
Which film do you think will take the box office crown this weekend?

No way.
1The Mummy? Please, not only are the movies horrible, but I loathe him as an actor. He should just retire from it already:)
2I have friends that have already seen Dark Knight and are going again this weekend. Also The Mummy got a rating of 10% on rottentomatoes which means it gotten horrible reviews.
3I really hope such a lame movie starring such a poor actor doesn't topple Dark Knight. That would just be sad.
4Puhleeze. The Mummy just looks gosh darn awful. I'd go see Dark Knight again in a flash before being PAID to watch The Mummy.
5hahahahahaha! The Dark Knight will rule... the mummy stuff needs to just stop.
6I highly doubt it, but I'm not the best at predicting box office numbers...
7The Mummy looks really cheesy. I'll be surprised if it even breaks to top 3.
8one of my jobs is at a movie theater and the people leaving the mummy showing last night did not have stellar reviews...let me tell you. ha. blatantly heard it sucked.
9Dark Knight will take it!!!!
10i saw the mummy. loved the first one, cuz i love egypt, rachel weisz, and young brendan frasier. this one was delightfully AWFULLLLL. i saw it with my beloved cousin whom i haven't seen forever, so i had a blast giggling away at all the cheesy lines with her, but the movie was, sad to say, god awful. i mean, i had a good time, but i don't think anyone else will
11let's be real: people were going to see the dark knight pretty much no matter what anyway...and with all the great attention it's been getting, and the fact that everyone seems to have seen it multiple times by now, i don't see the revenues slowing down for the dark knight...
