New mom-of-twins Jennifer Lopez is heading back to work in front of the cameras soon for yet another romantic comedy. Titled The Governess, the movie "centers on a professional thief who, in order to pull off a major bank heist, poses as a nanny to the three unruly children of a wealthy widower. When she starts to fall for the kids and their father, she must decide if she can give up her past for a chance to start over."
I wonder. . . will she be able to give up her past for the wealth widower and the three scamps she's come to love?!
Tell me: Do you think Jennifer Lopez is good at the romantic comedy thing? Do you like her performances in Maid in Manhattan and The Wedding Planner? Might this be a cute film?

Ugh Puulleaaze Jennifer stay home with the zombie and zombie babies and spare us another bomb rom/com from you!
who is pitching these to her? and do they look at her past performances and what box office draws those were? are they blind?
1Oh, for God's sake. I can't believe she hasn't given up yet.
I had to watch Monster-In-Law a couple of weeks ago (they were playing it in the waiting room of my doctor's office), and she was just dreadful. Not even Michael Vartan could save that movie. Ugh.
2Oh geez, the same story line over and over and over again.
3ugh bo-ring
4Wow that storyline sounds really familiar. Its almost like The Sound of Music with the addition of the jewel thief storyline and minus about four kids and minus any singing talent on J.Lo's part. I liked her in The Wedding Planner, but Maid in Manhattan was dreadful.
5Maid in Manhattan was only so-so, but The Wedding Planner is one of my favorite romantic comedies (along with Sweet Home Alabama). I'll probably go see the new one.
6I don't really care for her movies... not enough to pay to see them anyway, but they are enjoyable to watch late at night on cable.
7She's never been an actress that I enjoy. Even though the film doesn't sound too bad, it and she are way too predictable.
8I think Jennifer Lopez should stick to dancing. She is really a brilliant dancer but singing and acting, not so much. I damire the fact that she has carved out a place for herself but other than that I just can't help wishing her 15 minutes were up
9I LOVED Monster-in-Law!!
10I think she does great in Romantic Comedies!
Actress?? YES! Did you guys see Selena??
BORING!
but I will probably end up seeing this
11ugh, she needs to STOP trying to act!
12"I wonder. . . will she be able to give up her past for the wealth widower and the three scamps she's come to love?!"
13Um... all signs point to yes. Romantic comedies are tired and predictable.
No. No. And no, on all three.
14FoxyJo, Selena is my favorite Jennifer Lopez movie of all time!!!
I like Jennifer Lopez as an actress. Her movies are actually pretty decent. Shes a way better actress than she is a singer. So I don't mind seeing her movies. I probably won't pay to go see it in the theater, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it once it makes its way to DVD or on TV.
15i love Romantic comedies, but the storyline seems very similar to her older movies, I would probably wait for it on DVD
16CRITICS always get a kick outta trashin her but it does NOT mean she cant act! she was phonemenal in SELENA! she killed it in OUT OF SIGHT!she did an amazing job in shall we dance!i could watch ANGEL EYES and EL CANTANTE for 1000 times!have u seen "enough"? "money train"? "The wedding planner"? "border town"? all good!
17personaly i prefer her as an actress!
Sounds interesting, albeit predictable. I'd definitely go and watch. I love practically all her movies. They are the "sit back, relax and just enjoy" sort of movies. Just the thing I need after a whole week of stress at the office.
18I like her doing romantic comedies
