Before being known to most as Natalie Portman's boyfriend, Devendra Banhart was famous in certain circles for turning out interesting neo-folk music and has been a mainstay in the independent music scene for a little while now.
His new video for his Spanish language song "Carmensita," has people talking partly because Ms. Portman's in it but also because some people aren't sure how awesome this cheeky swipe at Bollywood-style productions is. Do you find this video a fun rush to the senses, or totally forgettable?

I actually caught this on pitchfork earlier and I think its mildly entertaining.
1i like it! the bollywood satire works well. so many people just get it so wrong, but this is pretty well done and amusing.
2I find them both attractive and love her but no to this video! I couldn't watch it all.
3Blech! Hate it
4Manu Chao much...? I don't think his music is so great, video is so-so, it's been done before... we are not amused.
5I got bored....
6Very cute and creative.
7Its was sorta funny, but I was really distracted by the hair that was being exposed by Devandra's low-slung skirt. Blech.
8she couldnt loan him 10 bucks to make this better? It was funny if they were a bunch of drunk people making a home vid, and i know he is all Indi artist, but really it was terrible.
and i too was icked out by Devandras drapes showing
9I'll pass.
10Aw, I guess I'm alone in thinking the video was kind of cute, in a ridiculous way. I don't know if anyone remembers it, but it reminds me of the movie, Serendipity, where Kate Beckinsale's boyfriend is a crazy Indie artist making an insane video. I think it's sweet that she's supporting her boyfriend, and there are a couple times during the video that it looks like she's about to crack up, which I find endearing. Plus, I think Devendra is crazy, smokin' hot, despite his sketchy wardrobe choices, so I guess I'm also alone in thinking the low-slung skirt with his junk peeking out was sexy.
11well video says no longer available
12eh ok so it started working
13barely got through the first minute of it...
love the song . . . reminds me of Caetano Veloso, but the video is gratutitously cheesey, which perhaps was the point. nice pubes, dude.
14she must really love him because I can not believe she participated in that
15i appreciate the parody. it's kind of funny. but i just really hate natalie portman. i never believe her acting roles, and putting her in the music video kind of distracts from the song, which isn't all that good anyway :/
sorry to be snotty, but her "cuteness" kind of nauseates me.
16Wow, that's surprisingly awful.
17I thought it was cute at first, but I just got bored after a while.
18they look like they had so much fun making it!!
19Choice D should be: I just love Natalie and anything she does.

22Aack! No! Refreshing the page made me repost three times... hours after my first post. Sorry!
23Yeah, no thanks. It reminds me that I just don't buy Natalie Portman's "acting", I don't know why. She's in the ranks of Drew Barrymore and Winona Ryder for me- just embarrassing to watch.
I'm kind of surprised to admit I thought the song was kind of cool though- if I hadn't seen the video along with it I might like it.
24She's gorgeous, as always, but all I could think was what.... the... hell....?
25Nat's the only beautiful thing in that video, Bernhart was cringe-worthy! Eww. The video just.. well, stunk.
26The video is really bad. Its neither funny nor musical. What were they thinking?
27I don't know why, but I enjoyed it.
28I guess I like low-budget crap. haha.
Besides, I'm a HUGE Natalie Portman fan,
and she looks gorgeous as always.
Throughout watching this I had the incredible urge to reach into my computer screen and B slap both of them as hard as I can.
In conclusion, video sucked.
29I've always loved this song (it was released last year), and I think the video is funny as hell. Devendra is awesome, and kudos for him for not doing a typical "I'm-so-indie" video with water faucets and dead doves.
30it was ok, I have to admit it didnt catch my attention like i thought it would, i got bored halfway thru & stopped watching it. eh, & i love Natalie Portman usually!
31This is actually the only time I thought she was cool.
But eh, yeah, I realise its a parody and all but dude....keep the curlies to yourself!
32I honestly don't know what I think of the video, but I liked the song.
33I love Natalie but this just didn't make sense to me.
34hmmmmmm.......................................
35btw her BF looks like a modern day cave man
36soooo bad. like an SNL parody. she's gonna regret it.
37i think she should stick to movies
38natalie portman is my favorite but her boy friend...
