Courteney Cox has booked her first post-Dirt TV role, and I'm liking the sounds of it. She'll soon be hobnobbing with Zach Braff and co. when Scrubs takes up its new post on ABC this Fall.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Cox will play Sacred Heart's new chief of medicine, taking over for the recently retired Dr. Kelso. She's signed up for three episodes so far, and her character is intended to "ruffle feathers," according to EW's source.
A quick survey of the Sugar offices showed that we can all picture Cox playing a doctor — and, in fact, we wondered why she hadn't popped up on any of TV's many other medical shows before. Plus, Scrubs will give her a good chance to show off her comedic chops again, and it can only help the show get some buzz on its new network. And if Dirt showed us one thing, it's that Cox is good at torturing her underlings. Which Sacred Heart staffer can you most easily picture Cox giving a hard time?

3ugh no!!! scrubs is my favorite show!! i dont think the show will be the same without dr kelso! i thought theyd bring him back in some strange way. i dont think this will be good.

6I LOVE scrubs and have watched every episode from the beginning. I think she will make a great addition. But, I will totally miss Kelso. Who is going to fight with Barbie.
7I think she will ruffle the feathers of all the characters in some way... I too will miss Dr Kelso but they definitely picked a good person to replace him.

14I think she'll be a good addition and possibly breathe some life back into what is a good series but has been suffering lately I think from stale storylines.
15Shows always get stale if you don't add in new characters to shake things up and it has been a while for Scrubs. I can't wait to see her on the show. Michael J. Fox is supposedly coming back for at least one show too!

17NOOOOO. I HATE the so called show scrubs. I WANT DIRT/NOW back. Why would FX not bring back DIRT? The past 2 weekends I've been talking with lots of friends, wondering when DIRT/NOW would be back. This is how I find out. WAAAAA. Barf to Scrubs. We want DIRT and we want it NOW with C.C.
