The spies over at Gold Derby have been busy all week gathering names of the semifinalists in all of the acting categories for this year's Emmys. Just like the series semifinalists that the Emmys announced last week, each of the acting categories will be narrowed to five (or possibly six) official nominees by July 17.
So far, Gold Derby has managed to track down all the nominees for the four drama acting categories, along with what episodes the judges watched to make their decisions. The lists are unofficial, but Gold Derby has never steered me wrong before. (They also have some great leaked reports from Emmy judges, so check those out too.)
After the jump, you can check out the lists and start speculating. Who's a lock for the top five? Who got majorly snubbed? (My vote there: Connie Britton, who was a semifinalist in the lead acting category last year for Friday Night Lights, dropped herself down to supporting actress this year, and didn't even make the semifinals. Come on!) And are there any surprises? You can check them out if you read more.

Pretty much any actor from FNL deserves to be nominated above most of these people. Connie, Zach (Matt Saracen), and Jesse (Landry) would absolultely be nominated if the Emmys ever did anything right. But let's face it they always get it wrong. They snubbed Lauren Graham for seven years, as well as Kristin Bell. And yet Particia Arquette keeps getting nominated, not to mention T.R. Knight this year and per usual way too many Boston Legal noms. I dream of a day when the Emmys are actually based soley on acting.
1Tim Riggins got snubbed, so did Connie Britton both from FNL. And where is Natalie Dormer from The Tudors? All the Emmys are are a bunch of ass-kissing losers who are desperate to be accepted by the networks.
2i'm kinda bummed that jonathan rhys meyers and natalie dormer didn't get any short-list love. i just finished watching season 2 of the tudors and it was damn awesome!
i think justin chambers deserved the supporting actor nod over t.r. knight. but yay! for michael emerson. if he doesn't win this year, it will be the travesty of all travesties b/c benry IS LOST!!
3I am so excited to see so many of my personal favorites on this list! It looks as though the Emmys are shaping up nicely this year. Is the first year the shortlists have been released? I don't recall seeing them before. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for July 17th!
4basically the entire cast of fnl should have been nominated!! jk....but seriously mrs. coach, matt saracin, & landry should have been nominated. UGH
5nomadreader — Gold Derby (part of the LA Times) has been digging them up for a couple of years now. The Emmys haven't released any shortlists before this year, but they did make the series lists official — partly cause they were sick of Gold Derby doing it for them! I hope next year they'll just put all the lists out.
6jenintx, I am with you! I was SURE atleast one of them would have been on the shortlist! maybe next year! of course, not for natalie dormer...
7I think Justin Chambers should have gotten nominated, his performance on the season finally really was worthy of an Emmy, or at least a nomination. And I think Sara Ramirez should have made the semi-finalists list because I though she had a lot on her plate this season [from divorcing George (and finding out about his affair), to not being able to handle and eventually losing her job as chief resident, to admitting (to herself)her attraction to Erica Hahn.] and I think that she did a great job portyraying all of those situations.
8I don't watch most of those shows but I think Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond on Lost) should have been nominated, especially for the episode "The Constant."
9I cannot believe that they left off Anne Dudek from the best supporting actress category. Her performance on House this season was just fantastic.
10Allyace — I had the exact same thought about Dudek, but I read somewhere that she entered herself in the guest actress category instead. That one hasn't leaked yet, so I still have my fingers crossed!
11I'm so disappointed about Connie Britton, but yay for Kyle Chandler and all of the Mad Men nominees (and Glenn Close, of course)!
12Where are the Tudors?
13I'm glad that so many people from Mad Men are in on the action. I am newly addicted to that show!
