Bryce Dallas Howard is in final negotiations to replace Lindsay Lohan in a film written by Tennessee Williams called The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond. Williams' newly discovered screenplay follows Fisher Willow (now Howard), a 1920s Memphis debutante with a tendency to shock and insult those around her. Wait, they took Lohan out of this role?

Anyway, Fisher falls in love with down-on-his-luck Jimmy (Chris Evans) and pretends he is an upper-class suitor to please her aunt (Ann-Margret, who controls the family fortune. When Fisher loses a diamond, however, it only further jeopardizes her fragile relationship with her aunt. For the other details, read more
Teardrop Diamond will begin shooting this spring with an excellent cast that will also include David Strathairn (Good Night and Good Luck) and Ellen Burstyn (Requiem for a Dream). Lohan was originally tapped for the role back in November. Though there is no information about why the actress is being replaced, we could probably venture some guesses. Anybody?

I Quite like Bryce, well I certainly prefer her to Lilo. Any word on why she was replace, I didn't see on the article you linked to.
1Swwonder Im right there with you I much prefer Bryce. I feel she will be better at fitting in the time period too. I just cannot imagine LL doing any type of period piece between her demeanor and appearance- outside of Mean Girls I just dont really think she can act. Bryce looks like she could fit in the 20's plus it is nice for her to do another movie outside of M. Night Shamalans movies
2Did she have her baby yet? I'm glad they replaced her. But I saw Bryce on Letterman once and she made the dingiest comments!
3I'd actually prefer LL for this role. I remember reading a magazine interview she did with Ann Margaret. It compared how much LL looks like Ann Margaret when she was younger.
4Dammit!
That sux.
Who is Bryce? Should I know her? She's not as pretty as LL, imo, not that, that matters.

Jinx- Bryce is is Ron Howards daughter (Happy Days Ron Howard). She is best know for her roles in The Village and Lady in the Water
LL may look like Ann Margret but I just dont think LL can act
6I like LL for the role as well ,even though i did like the other girl in that Lady in the water movie.
7Bryce looks so much like Daddy lol

p.s. i want lindsay's dress
8Yeah, I am not a LiLo fan but I think she'd be better in this role. Bryce is blaaaaaaand! Anyone see Lady in the Water? I saw it here in Paris and people were roaring with laughter at how bad it was lol
9Bryce rocks! Go Bryce! I've heard Lindsay doesn't take her acting jobs too seriously and has trouble making it to work on time.
10Thanks for the feedback, I didn't realise she was Ron Howard's daughter. As far as LL, I can't think of another twenty year old with her acting abilities.
I didn't see Lady, I heard it was hilarious. Poor Paul, he usually makes such good picks.

Smoking kills. If you're killed, you've lost a very important part of your life.
I used to really root for LL until about two years ago. Now I think she peaked at 'The Parent Trap.'
As for Bryce, I think she is so beautiful, but I don't think she's a great actress. Still, I'd rather see her make this movie than LL.
14I am all for Bryce in this role. She was excellent in The Village. As for LL, I am still waiting for someone to prove to me that she is this super great actress. Mean Girls? Sorry, Rachel McAdams owned that movie and left LL in the dust.
