The 14 Teen Choice Awards nominations that Gossip Girl racked up today made me feel ever so slightly guilty. Is it gross that I might have a favorite TV show in common with a 13-year-old?
I can't be alone here, though — some of you have admitted you, too, love things like Gossip Girl and Greek even though you're a wee bit older than the shows' characters. And I know some non-parent adults (OK, not many, but some) who love High School Musical and are even excited for the premiere of the Jonas Brothers' Camp Rock.
So, be honest with me for a second: Do you watch "teen" TV shows?

I don't watch them. Not because I'm not a teen, but because they all seem exactly alike. The fake teen drama just don't thrill me.
1Yes, I'm 23 and I watch Gossip Girl and Kyle XY.
2Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and America's Next Top Model - I know they're stupif, but I find them entertaining, even though I am 19 now...
3I watch Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, ANTM, The Hills, FNL, etc ... but I do not understand the appeal of High School Musical, The Jonas Brothers, or Miley Cyrus. I think I'm too old for that.
4Gossip Girl and Instant Star on The N. I love that show and unabashedly blast the soundtrack in my car.
5I'm a teenager but I still feel a little embarrassed by the fact that I watch Gossip Girl. But the show is just so damn addicting! And it's actually rather well written and the plot is engaging... maybe I'm just trying to justify it to myself.
6It's the only teen show I watch, though. And EWW to High School Musical/Jonas Brothers/Miley Cyrus... that stuff is just crap for 12 year olds. I don't understand people my age (18) who like that stuff!
I'm a teen, and I am still slightly ashamed that I watch Gossip Girl. I never meant to, but now I can't stop. Crack for the vapid.
7gossip girl = guilty pleasure. my friends and i talk about it all the time aha especially since they shoot close to us. ADORE greek though
8i am 16 and i do not watch teen shows....i watch alot of stuff on the discovery channel and channels like that ......i find the teen shows....not appealing to me!!
9I'm 21, but I grew up reading gossip girl back as a freshman in high school, so it only came naturally that I'd want to watch it.
10How funny that Greek is a "teen" show even though it is set in college. I am 23, so I have a few guilty pleasures, Greek, OTH, The Hills, stuff like that. There's not really a genre for mid twenties.
11I'm still close enough to a teen that its acceptable, but I'm sure I'll still be watching teen shows well into my thirties. I have a big TV on DVD collection, so I'll be able to watch Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek, Roswell, Greek, The O.C. etc. over and over. That being said Gossip Girls is fine as a guilty pleasure, but actually a pretty crappy written/acted show that I don't see myself re-watching in the future. The key to a good teen show is in the writing and the acting and right now Gossip Girl is lacking in that department and hanging on because of its gorgeous cast, fashion and flashy advertising. It has less interesting drama than some of its contemporaries (Blair and Chuck are really the only interesting parts) so I think if I were a little older I would feel guilty for watching it.
12I'm 23 and love shows like that. I think I always will. I don't know what to do with my Monday's now that Greek is done for the season.
13Whoopsy...
I voted no, but I do watch ANTM...
Busted!
14HaHa!
gossip girl all the way. i think that's the only "teen" show i watch. well, i did see high school musical, but i won't make a habit of watching it in the future. it's just not my cup of tea.
15Love 'em. They're so much fun, not to crazy, and really entertaining.
16Not really...I don't like Gossip Girl at all.
17I'm 24, and I DVR Greek. I don't know why, but I like that show. BUT, on the other hand, I really like Jon & Kate Plus 8, and I don't have kids and I am not married. After that I really like documentaries on History Channel or Discovery. So as long as I diversify, I think it's ok!
18I don't watch anything at the moment but I still mourn Veronica Mars. Something like that, well written and engaging, is worth watching.
19just gg, greek, and antm...but i dont watch them because theyre for teens. if i thought they were bad, i wouldn't watch them.. and i dont feel bad because half the actors and actresses are way out of their teens anyway
20its funny since shows like one tree hill, the hills, wildfire, gilmore girls, greek they are people set in college so it should feel as embrassing as it does to love watching shows like that and many highschool set shows deal with topics very unhighschool sometimes
21Well past my teen years, but I enjoy Gossip Girl, Degrassi, and One Tree Hill. No shame in my game.
22I'm in my 20s but am still a teen girl at heart. I love teen shows and the majority of the books I read are geared towards teen girls. Sometimes I'm embarrassed to admit it, depending on who I am with, but for the most part, I'm okay with it.
23I would watch the O.C. and I watch Gossip Girl. But I'm 19, so it's still ok!
24chhh yeahh!! I'm 17 (:
25I kinda think it's weird when adults watch it.... not the 21 year olds.. but like.. the 40+ ones... O_O
Some teen shows are really good (:
GOSSIP GIRL lol sooo dramatic
Yes! Totally guilty of it. I remember I used to be embarassed if someone knew I watched the Disney channel when I was like 12, but back in college I started watching it again. GOSSIP GIRL is so addicting, I wanted to hate it so badly! And yes, I even love HSM.
26I watch everything – some are guilty pleasures (*cough*HSM*cough*), some I'm happy to own up to (Gossip Girl and Greek)! Teen TV can be fun, plus when the writers are our ages you know they're going to slip in some references for us twenty-somethings and up, right?! But I do not get The Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus... that's something I'm not sure I'll ever understand.
27Of course! I have the rest of this year only to live as a teen so I'm going to live it up!
28Hmm, well I'm 19 and I find Gossip Girl completely unbelievable that these people are supposed to be younger than me, but I can't help but watch. I'm obsessed with Greek, but since they are in college I don't see it so much as a high school show, and more for people in their late teens and 20's. I still watch Disney Channel shows every now and then even though I know they are way below my age level. I think I'll always be like that. I can't get into mature dramas - those REALLY bore me.
I got into High School Musical when the first one came out purely on the fact that it was my junior year of high school. After that, I found it to be really boring and completely overrated. Now with Miley Cyrus, I cannot stand that girl. I don't see any talent with her. I've actually watched a couple episodes of Hannah Montana and I realize how much television has changed since I was 12, and not for the better.
Also, I'm sick of the constant propaganda that comes with Camp Rock, I see commercials for this movie on basically every network on television and even on the radio. Now if I were 15, I think I would totally jump on the bandwagon of the Jonas Brothers, but that stuff doesn't do it for me anymore.
29Hm I'm 18 and I don't watch any current "teen" shows. Most of my favorite shows take place in high school/college though.
30Buffy
Freaks and Geeks
Veronica Mars
My So-Called Life
Undeclared
Gilmore Girls
and now that I think about it, I do love Kyle XY.
i agree with K is for Kaite
31Hell no. I'm a 36 year old woman and a mother of 2 busy kids. Besides, I can't relate to these modern 'teen' shows. Been there, done that.
32I´m 18 and love shows like that, and to be honest I hope I always will.
33I can't watch that teen drama cr*p anymore. I've outgrown it.
34I'm 20 and love Hannah Montana, High School Musical, and especially Degrassi
35I've always enjoyed "teen shows" or shows set in high schools, I don't know why.
36I still watch repeats of My So Called Life, and such, But I haven't watched any listed in this post.
I'm 24 and I watch Gossip Girl and Greek. It kinda helps that in reality, I'm the same age as most of the actors on those shows. And Greek really isn't so much a teen drama as a college drama. And I'm not too far out of college. But those are the only two. I can't stand the others.
37I never really cared about the target audience of a show. If it's entertaining (even in a guilty pleasure sense), I'm watching. I like "Gossip Girl", "One Tree Hill" (which was a teen show just last year) and "The Hills" (which may as well be a teen show because it's on MTV), even though I'm in my late 20's. Even when I was a teen/preteen though, I couldn't get into shows that were too Disney-ish and wholesome (e.g. "Full House" or "Hannah Montana")... they bored me.
38Is Greek really a teen show? Well I guess it is because any college student (like myself) will tell you that if college was really that drama-packed we would never find time to study! But I read Gossip Girl series in high school although I must admit that I watched the first 2 episodes didn't like it then only started again when they started that provocative ad campaign "OMFG" and introduce Georgina which I think is a fabulous character.
39i watch some, but not because its good television or something, probably just because i'm, bored. and yeah, i dont get the whole hannah montana empire.
40Of course!! I LOVE "teen" shows!! I am a sucker for Geek, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, The Hills, The OC, you name it, I probably watch it! And HSM was SUCH a good movie! I'm 18, though, so that makes it ok, right!
41I am 31 and watch Greek religiously- it (Sadly) reminds me of my college days.
42I also used to watch One Tree Hill but got turned off this season- too much angst not enough fun!
I'm 26 and I still watch them. I think it's an escape from my boring adult life.
And if life allowed me, I would watch Canadian teen shows all day. Love Degrassi and Instant Star!
43No matter how old I get (32), I love teen shows. I'll always be twelve.
44Degrassi is the only one I get into. I loved Gilmore Girls, too, but don't think of it as "teen" programming, since Lorelai was really the main character. (I couldn't stand Rory, anyway.)
45I'm 33 and I LOVE Degrassi. There I said it. Oh, and of course my favey show of all time is my beloved 90210.
46i love "teen" shows on the cw, mtv, abc family, the n and i used to love a bunch on disney (even stevens, jett jackson) but the new disney shows kind of suck. but there is nothing wrong with liking great writing. i watch adult shows too, but remember the teens have parents and some of these teens act like adults anyway! remember dawson's creek?
47I watch Gossip Girl... I'm almost 20 (in two months).
When it started I said to my sister that I wouldn't watch it. I thought it was too "teen". After two episodes I was hooked. But I don't think I will watch the next season, it is too much like O.C and after all the only plotline I was interested in was Rufus/Lily.
I have lots of Dawson's Creek on tape and I watch them on rainy days and mornings when I wake too early.
48I am 29 and I love Degrassi and About Girl on the N. I watched the OC the entire four seasons and I tried to watch Gossip Girl but I just couldn't. I don't know if it is the new setting or just that the characters don't appeal to my Cali girl sensibilities but I just don;t like that show. I am the self declared queen of tween shows, and I love them. I don't relate to them in the sense that I see my life unfolding on screen but they are fun and honestly it's easier for me to watch teen agers whine about there lives that to watch full grown adults act like teenagers swapping partners and living recklessly just because they can. I will watch Disney Channel movies and Saturday morning silly shows until I have kids of my own that age and then I'll watch with them and finally have an excuse
49Have mercy! I am 31 and I love teen shows, Gossip Girl, The Hills, and Friday Night Lights are among my must see list! Just because I am above 25 doesn't mean I am relegated to watching Medium and The Ghost Whisperer.
