Director Craig Gillespie and Ryan Gosling will combine their talents once more, and no, not for a Lars and the Real Girl sequel.
Titled The Dallas Buyers Club, the movie follows an inspiring true story. Variety has more:
Dallas Buyers Club is the true story of Ron Woodroof, a tough Texas electrician who was diagnosed with AIDS in 1986 and given six months to live. Frustrated with the lack of available medical options and unwilling to accept a death sentence, Woodroof found a lifeline using alternative drugs and created a lucrative smuggling business that made those drugs available to AIDS patients. Woodroof died in 1992.
If this film ends up with even an inkling of the aching poignancy of Lars and the Real Girl, I am all about it. I can't wait to see Gosling show us more of the dramatic chops we know he has. I anticipate my heart breaking from this film but with this team, I welcome it. You?

I'm always excited to see a movie based in Texas that isn't all cowboy hats and "yeehaws." Hopefully Ryan can pull off a real Texas accent, and not some inconsistent, vaguely-Carolinian nonsense. Lars and the Real Girl was great, so this has potential.
1OH! This would sound really interesting to watch, plus Ryan is an incredible actor(Half Nelson) and I absolutely loved Lars and the Real Girl even if I was only one of like 15 people in the theater.

6I can't wait for this one either. I had no idea what Lars was really about and had read it had gotten bad reviews. I was thinking it was B grade comedy about some perv dude and a real doll. Imagine my surprise! I loved that movie and so did my hubby.
