And no, multiple viewings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show doesn't really count. I'm talking about the movies that so captivated your imagination you just had to go back for more. Or the movies that were such a fun event, you piggiebacked along with different friends and family members to keep the party going all weekend.
Just this past weekend, I know there were plenty of girls' nights out. . . and then girls' afternoons out and girls' Sunday evenings out for the Sex and the City movie. When the first Spider-Man came out, I couldn't get enough and may have seen it four times in the theater. I've also heard some mom friends talk about how many times they escorted their kids to Enchanted over the holidays. And um, I might have known someone, who — ahem! — may have seen The Cutting Edge several times in the theater when it came out in 1992.
What movies have you seen more than once in the theaters?

Vila
I went to see 'Dirty Dancing' a couple of times in the theatre...I'm thinking that was the last movie I saw twice! Uh oh, did I just date myself!
1I've only seen a few.....Titanic, Scream & Armageddon.
2I am embarassed to admit to seeing Speed 3 times in the theater. However, I am not embarassed about seeing Reality Bites multiple times. Ethan Hawke has such a hold over little old me at 16! If only his looks held up.
3I can't say I have. I've seen movies multiple times on video or DVD at home but not in the theater.
4There are a handful of movies that I've seen twice, but I don't think I've ever gone more than that for one movie. Maybe, MAYbe 3 times, max.
And those multiple viewings are because I was going with someone who had yet to see it - otherwise I'd just wait for rentals.
I can only think of a few though... Wedding Crashers, Armageddon, Notebook, Finding Nemo, Jerry Maguire... (very random, I know).
5I rarely see movies more than once. But I really Like the second Chronicles of Narnia installment and so I went again with my college roommate. I'll see a movie more than once in theaters if I get multiple invites for it. I usually end up going with someone else for their first time. I saw Juno twice because my dad loved it, I mean really loved it, and I agreed to see it again with him. His post-film discussion was hysterical.
6I'm such a closet nerd, but I saw all three Lord of the Rings multiple times. With the first one I saw it with different people and pretended it was my 1st time seeing it ha.
7Hmm....
I definitely saw Titanic a number of times, plus Jurassic Park, Speed, The Sixth
Sense, Walk the Line, Atonement, and Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet all had multiple viewings as well.
8Recently, Michael Clayton and There Will Be Blood and a few years ago, The Upside of Anger. I know there were more.
9The last one I remember was Juno. I saw that twice in the theater.
10austin powers goldmember i saw 3 time in the theater..lol but it was with differnt groups of people, so that makes it a little less silly..a little lol
11I definitely saw each of the Bridget Jones' movies three times in the theater.
12I saw Titanic 3 times in the theater and Pulp Fiction twice. That's it for repeats for me though.
13I didn't start going to movies multiple times in the theater until Titanic. Saw it 6 times. Then I saw Meet Joe Black twice. Recently I saw Superbad and Juno twice. Others off the top of my head would be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (went back the day after then saw it in IMAX a month later), Sixth Sense, The Count of Monte Cristo, Walk the Line, The Departed. I can't think of anything else right now. Mainly I love to see movies multiple times if I'm seeing it with someone else who hasn't seen it yet! Just for the shared experience and enjoying their reactions!
14When I was a bored kid with nothing to do the summer that Men in Black came out, I was dragged to it a couple times (I didn't complain). I saw Titanic multiple times (not proud of it), Varsity Blues (again, not proud), Armageddon, Rushmore (though the second time was a midnight showing a few years later), and Juno, which I caught at an advanced screening last fall and then again Christmas day with family.
15all the harry potters--the midnight showings and then multiple times on the days after they come out (ha) and elf, though not by choice, i just went with different groups of friends.
and a LOT more, probably. really though, i go with one group of people to a movie, and then a couple days later, another group wants to see it too. and if its a good movie, of course ill go.
16I think I might have also seen Garden State twice, geez. But that was before all the hype caught up to it.
17I saw Wedding Crashers twice and it was just as funny the second time as the first. Last weekend I saw Sex and the City movie and I want to see it again, because I don't think I can wait for it to come out on DVD.
18Oh god I can't believe I'm admitting this...Titanic...I must've been 12 or 13 years old.
19Gladiator and Titanic ... I was way too obsessed with Russel Crowe for my own good.
20i'm a nerd and will watch tons of movies over and over. i saw anaconda 4x. the mummy and mummy returns 2x. clueless 3x. jurasic park like 4x. mean girls 2x. toy story 3x. shrek 2x. matrix 2x. love and basketball 3x. brown sugar 3x. indy 4 2x. iron man 2x. pirates of the caribbean 1 and 2 2x. juno 3x. basically, i'm addicted to movies and when i see one i like i watch it over and over.
21omg. i forgot LOTR! i saw all three at least 3x in the theater.
22I saw the Lord of Rings trilogy multiple times as well as the Harry Potters... each time with different friends who hadn't seen them yet!
23Before I became a mom, I always used to see movies multiple times - I'd invite one friend at a time so I'd have an excuse. I saw the Ocean's movies two or three times each that way. For some reason, I really liked Wyatt Earp and I know I saw that a couple of times. I saw Spy Kids with my daughter 3 times (George Cloony, Antonio Bandaras - i was happy too)but she's not really into multiple viewings unless she's at home, lying on the floor.
24I love to a movie I love on Sunday morning when there aren't many people around.
I saw Juno the first time for free via the promotion that Buzzsugar blogged about. I went back to see it a second time (and paid for two tickets) because I wanted to bring my surrogate little sister to a movie with a good message. And I didn't mind seeing it twice either - it was that good and that funny.
25I saw "The Matrix" three times (once with a few friends, once with my brother and his then girlfriend and then again with my brother and our cousin
). I was so disappointed by the sequel though, I didn't even see the third one at the cinema
once.
26Apart from that one though, I think the only films I went to see more than once were all German films: "Run Lola Run", "Good Bye Lenin!" and "The Edukators" (I saw each of them twice).
Titanic - 3
Star Wars Special Edition Releases - 3
Forgetting Sarah Marshall - 2
Lord of the Rings: Two Towers - 2
Moulin Rouge - 2
So maybe I'm a repeat offender?
27I might have seen the third Harry Potter twice in the theater. I don't usually do that, movie tickets are so expensive. (At least where I live, anyway?)
28Hah! I just remembered, me and my boyfriend went to see "About A Boy" twice, because the first time we saw it we missed the first 5 or so minutes.
29I can't really think of movies I've seen in the theater more than once...but there are movies at home I'll watch over and over again, or any time it's on (Shawshank Redemption, A Christmas story...woohoo 24 hours on Christmas Eve hehe).
I remember when Titanic came out this girl I worked with saw it like 20 times. I think that's a bit excessive
30hmm off the top of my head:
31Dodgeball, Wedding Crashers, Superbad 3x I think, Little Miss Sunshine, Napolean Dynamite, Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay. I'm sure there are more. Notice they're all comedies, I never see dramas twice in theaters.
The Holiday, Charlotte's Web, and The Notebook I saw twice each... and there are probably some others in there I can't remember.
32Only Superman Returns.. it was an ok movie and I had already seen it, but me and my mom went to separate theaters and mine ended early so I went to go see it again with my mom.
33Oh, there's been a few:
Titanic - 3 times
34The Fast and the Furious - 6 times (mostly with my sister at the $1.50 theater)
LotR - The Two Towers - 7 or 8 times, it was a really hot summer and that was the longest film at $1.50 theater! It's still my fave of the LotR series.
Apollo 13 - 4 times, still one of my very favorites.
All of the Harry Potters and The Lord of the Rings...2 or 3 times each.
35Scream, Titanic, LOTR, Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park.
Soon to be- SATC
36lol@Cutting Edge
I feel like I may have seen 'Titanic' twice in the theater, but I can't remember anymore. I'm not big on going to the theater in general.
37I saw Chasing Amy 5 times in the theatre! Any time anyone wanted to go, I would go with them!!! LOVE Kevin Smith!
38in the theatre:
I've seen Purple Rain probably 25 times....and probably 10 or so in the theater...
I've seen Legends of The Fall at least 10 times, probably at least 5 in the theater....
On DVD multiple times:
Love and Basketball
Heat
The Getaway
Now, Voyager
Splendor in the Grass
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Menace II Society
A Place in the Sun
Love Jones
ATL
Anaconda (my niece LOVES this movie)
Out of Sight
There's plenty more but those are probably the ones I've seen most....
39Its terrible that I couldn't really remember what movies I've seen more than once in the movie theaters. After reading the posts, I can say that I've definitely seen Titantic more than once in the theaters and Pretty Woman, too.
40And, way back when, I also saw St. Elmo's Fire a few times in the theater.
These days I find that people are often annoying in the theaters (acting like they ARE watching at home and openly talking), so if I really enjoyed the movie, I just make sure to add it to my netflix.
I've seen the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at least three times in the theaters. The other Potter films, I've watched at least twice in the theater.
41This is very unusual for me, so when it happens it means I am so in love with the movie I could marry it...
Titanic
42American Beauty
SATC ... It was so good and I actually cried just at the opening credits I was so joyful to be there! It was so good I stayed and watched it again.
The Royal Tenenbaums- LOVE Wes Anderson!
43oh i do all the time. i love going to the movies and if one of my friends hasn't seen a movie i've recommended, i'll gladly jump at the chance to go with them. i've seen inside man 3x (love me some clive owen), superbad 4x (laughed ridiculously each time), across the universe twice, and those are only the recent ones. movie theaters have taken so much of my money. but i just love going
44Titanic
45I'm really going to date myself with my answer! When I was a teenager I went to see the rock opera Tommy three times at our local drive-in movie. Also, saw Jaws three times. I don't go to movie theaters much lately--just wait and watch everything on DVD.
46I don't know why, but I saw Terminator 2 eight times in the theatre! I could NOT get enough of that movie LOL. I think I was in love with Edward Furlong at the time hehe. Also, saw Fugitive and Jurassic Park four times each...South Park two or three times...the first Narnia twice. A few others too that I've seen multiple times. I'm a huge movie goer and just love being in the theatre
I have to say, after T2 that many times, I know the entire script by heart
hehe.
47I went and saw the first two lotr's multiple times but by the time the third came out everyone was not co-operative with my obsessiveness and I never got the chance to see it again until the dvd came out.
48More recently I've been to see Iron Man twice, once with friends once with the boyfriend and Indiana Jones, with friends and then with family, but i now have a cinema card for unlimited films for a fixed price per month so i go mainly for something to do.
Oh and LOTR of course, a couple of times each. And Star Wars
49It has been awhile since I have done this. The movie that stands out the most is Thelma and Louise, which I saw three times. I saw Titanic twice.
