It definitely wasn't my best year for predicting the top 12 on "American Idol". Only seven of my picks actually made it through to the final dozen. Some of you, however, did much better: Four people who filled out our ballot correctly guessed the fate of 20 out of 24 potential Idols. Pop also came in ahead of me by figuring out what would happen to 18 of the contestants.
The one prediction I thought for sure I'd get right was Antonella moving into the top 12. She's gotten more press than any "Idol" contestant at this stage of the competition (especially if you count "near-nude photos" as "press"), not to mention the push from Vote for the Worst. What happened? Did America finally start voting based on talent? Or was the competition rigged to get rid of her early, especially in light of the Frenchie controversy?
My top three — Blake, Stephanie, Brandon — are all still in, but if I could do it over, I'd substitute Melinda for Stephanie and Chris Richardson for Brandon. What about you? Who's your new pick to win it all?

so far my top five are still in (chris, blake, lakisha, melinda, gina...though not in that order), so i'm doing okay. i was pretty shocked about sundance though, and equally shocked that haley is still in the competition. thank goodness antonella is gone! now we need to PLEASE get rid of sanjaya!!
1I was 50% right on those eliminated. I actually thought Antonella would make it through to the top 12 simply based on advanced buzz and the fact that for some strange reason, America tends to vote for some talentless people sometimes (eg: Sanjaya.) I'm sure Antonella will end up doing some sort of hosting duty on some show or end up in Stuff Magazine. She's better off modeling than singing anyway.
I think the girls will actually start to cancel each other out. They're way better than the guys, but I think they're all competing for a similar fanbase. (I think that's why Sloan got eliminated) except for Haley; she may have a fanbase all to her own simply based on her different style. This probably boosts the chances of the three guys who have a real shot at winning: Both Chris' and Blake.
2I had one right, I guessed Sundance would go home.

I love Chris Sligh though, that hair rocks.
3Here we go .....This is my take Sabrina should still be there and so should Jared. Phil Stacy and Sanjaya should have gone. Sabrina should STILL BE THERE. Haley wasn't too impressive. Sundance wasn't as bad as Sanjaya. I'm glad Antonella is gone.
4Sabrina definitely should be there still. Haley should have gone. Sanjaya should have gone. After that I don't care which of the guys went b/c they are all really unimpressive.
5Melinda, Melinda, Melinda! With a smile to melt the polar ice cap, and the smooth, velvety, passionate voice of a young goddess (substitute DIVA, which is what goddess really means in Italian), Melinda is my top pick. She just keeps getting better and better!

i think its a girls competition
this year. i think Melina will win. but who knows? she might get eliminated in the middle. thats wat happened with chris daughtry last season.
