This Sunday June 1, the MTV Movie Awards will strike again and while they aren't the most prestigious awards around, they at least get creative with their nomination categories. My favorite: Best Kiss.
Here are the nominees:
- Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, Enchanted
- Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman, Step Up 2 the Streets
- Shia LaBeouf and Sarah Roemer, Disturbia
- Ellen Page and Michael Cera, Juno
- Daniel Radcliffe and Katie Leung, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I would love it if Ellen Page and Michael Cera won and then reenacted their kiss during the acceptance speech. But I have a feeling The LaBeouf will take that win.
Anyway, is it just me or were there some way better kisses this year than these nominees? There's a great scene in Waitress where Kerri Russell's character imagines a gorgeous kiss with her doctor friend (Nathan Fillion, anyone?) for example. Or hello? The library kisses between Keira Knightley and James McAvoy in Atonement!
Do you agree with this list or are there others you would add? What were some of the great on-screen kisses of the year (and by "this year" I guess we're talking all or most of 2007 since Disturbia came out in April of that year)?

1The kisses from Disturbia and Step Up 2 don't seem that great in comparison to the other ones (although I haven't seen Step Up 2). I guess I would vote for Ellen Page and Michael Cera's kiss in Juno. I doubt they would reenact it, I've heard rumors that she is a lesbian but I'm not sure. I LOVED Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams' reenactment of their kiss in the Notebook though.
2I actually thought the Disturbia kiss was pretty hot -- Shia's whole little speech leading up to it made it special.
3OMG! This is so embarrasing! I thought Blake Lively was the girl in Disturbia. Please someone tell me I'm not the only one. But then again I was watching it a few weeks ago and thought her voice sounded different than on Gossip Girl, but they look so much alike.
4Not sure who the girl in Disturbia was, but she definitely does look like Blake Lively, Supertramp.
My vote is for Ellen Page and Michael Cera in Juno.

12When I saw this category - the first two I thought of were the kiss from Atonement and the scene from Waitress! Great minds and all that. I think both of those are way better than those up for the award...but it is the MTV Movie Awards, so I'm not shocked I don't agree with their pics!

15Well, when I watched the video for the Disturbia kiss it's not the one I liked; I like the one at the end when Shia flicks off his friend, so I voted for Juno! It was sweet, though it involves flicking off her friend too haha.

17That kiss in Atonement was AMAZING. Very hot. Out of these, I'd have to go with Ellen and Michael.
18Oh, and the kiss in Waitress was good, too. I love Nathan Fillion. My friend calls him the poor man's Jason Bateman, which is kind of true, but I think he's hilarious and sexy.

20While the Atonment kiss was hot, I doubt it's a super popular movie among teens (MTV audience)...so I'll go with Shia..I'm 26 and still thought day-um! when I watched it..heehee

24Juno & Bleeker all the way! Although, Harry Potter finally getting some lip action was a big scandle. When I saw it in theatres, everyone made a huge fuss! It was hysterical
