David Cook was obviously the more talented one, but I didn't know if he'd take the popular vote. I kind of wanted Archuleta to win so that Cook could still get a record deal but make music on
his own terms b/c now Cook has to do stupid AI crap for the next year, but does feel nice to see the "golden boy" take a backseat. lol
I am still wondering why this show is still going on...There has only been 2 people that have really made it after the contest was over. The rest just disappeared
I am so happy he won! And the more I think about it, I think that his win won't necessarily mean a manufactured rock album. He'll probably release a debut album that plays by the rules, but
the bigger a star he gets--and I know he will be big!--he should be able to call more shots with his music. Look at Kelly and Carrie and how they flowed into their respective genres. I think
he'll be just as successful as them in the rock genre.
what is the world coming to? how are you going to have a gay man represent American Idol? why is it so imperitive for people to try to push this 'gay is okay' thing on us. being gay is a sin
and is something that God does not look kindly upon. do you all know what kind of message you are sending to our kids? that being gay is okay and there is nothing wrong with it. i don't
dislike gay people or anything like that, it's the fact that kids look up to people in the spotlight and it seems like america is trying to force us to accept the gay lifestyle...
I was so convinced it was going to go the other way (sometimes my cynical self can be a pain) that I almost lost it when they announced Cook as the winner. Awesome moment for him and so well
deserved! YAY COOK! So happy for him!
Ha. I think that's Michael Johns "nuzzling" David's ear.
I'm really glad David Cook won. I've watched American Idol for years, but this is the first time I'm truly excited to buy the winner's album. David has a fantastic, soaring voice and I can't
wait to see what kind of record he makes.
Archuleta could sing, but he didn't seem very marketable. Cook had a vibe and a feeling and he wasn't afraid to take risks. I'm glad he won. I think D.A. will probably still do well for
himself.
jaycarter - it sounds like you do have problems with gay people, and no matter what the media says, people will be gay or straight based on how they were born! don't be naive and narrow
minded!
as for the results, i didn't know what to think this time! i'm happy he won, he's talented and will have a good career because he has the "look" but archuleta is an amazing singer, and while
he's often nervous and so young, if this is a pure talent competition, he was the more talented of the two. i hope he manages to still get a recording deal because his voice is magic, and
it's all natural talent at that age!!
i agree elizabethrae, he's not super marketable, but he's very good!
Off topic' I glanced past the show and saw Carrie Underwood singing and I just thought, I know Kelly Clarkson is KICKING herself since she purposely distanced herself from the show and now
her career is in the crapper! What a dum dum.
David cook isn't gay not that it matters. I just saw him interviewed on my local news. He asked Kimberley Caldwell out on a date. He brought her a flower and everything. So cute!
I don't understand why "gay" even came into this. I'm assuming you're refering to Ryan Seacrest as many people say he's gay, but doesn't he date women (not that that means anything). And why
does it matter? They sure pushed a lot of religious songs on this season of Idol, which could offend many people just as much as a possibly gay host might.
And just to remind, the only commandment Jesus taught was Love. Didn't he love the prostitutes and Judas's of the world, just like you should equally love and not judge?
Jesus did preach love... as in love everyone NO MATTER WHAT even if they do something that you disagree with. You should love them instead of pushing them away and telling them that they're
going to hell unless they change. We are all sinners so stop judging other people's "sins" as though theirs are worse than yours.
I was also convinced David Archuleta was going to win, due to the teeny bopper vote. I am SO glad I was wrong - David Cook is so much more talented, and seems to be genuinely happy that he
won. I think so long as he asserts himself from the beginning, he should do fine. Carrie Underwood seemed to have enough creative control over her first album, as did Blake Lewis and Chris
Daughtry who, although they weren't the winners, are still under an AI-related record label.
jaycarter - what is wrong with you? why did you go on a gay rant? If he is gay, who cares? that's his business. I have a few gay family members and they are not "sinners" they are normal
loving people. There was no need to bring up your hatred for gay people in this post!
I don't care who that guy is, the nuzzling looks silly. I thought it was Seacrest, which would have mad it creepy, but I read some comments and people said it's not.
That JayCater person, it's probably someone who made a profile just to get at other people. Yeah, I noticed that David Archuleta is probably gay, poor kid-he's from Utah. It's not an easy
place to be gay, I know I grew up here and I've had many a friend who struggled with it. Don't let the comments get your goat.
YAY!!!
The most boring show on tv is finally over, make way for talented individuals in So you think you can dance! This show=talent+hotties!! The perfect summer reality television I think:)
Does anyone notice how Simon doesn't care about the at all this season? I stopped caring a looong time ago (at least 2 seasons ago)
I would just ignore jaycarter guys, she's obviously close-minded and all you need to do is look at her former comments and see her hypocrisy in citing christian values when discussing
homosexuality, "that jessica b*tch is worthless and useless. she needs to be in a coma, she'll serve the same purpose" (clearly she is a really great, kind christian woman who sets a much
better example for kids than a *gasp* gay person...)
I agree with the results; both finalists are very talented however David Cook experiments with the arrangement more, so that gave him an edge. I love both Davids and they will have sucess.
David Cook was definately the right winner. Archie is talented but still very immature - with the right guidance he will have a fantastic career.
I will go out on a limb and say that I truly believe David Cook will be the most successful Idol yet! He appeals across the board, young and old, men and women, all like him. He is the real
deal and I am glad he is the Idol.

Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.

1Cook was more of a star then Archie. He'll do better in the spotlight. I loved when he cried, he seems like a much more genuine person. yay
2I am still wondering why this show is still going on...There has only been 2 people that have really made it after the contest was over. The rest just disappeared
3"i dont care" I dont even know these peoples names. Is ryan nuzzling his ear?
4Two words: Thank God!
5OMG, yeah! I LOVE LOVE LOVE David Cook...can't wait for his album!
6I am so happy he won! And the more I think about it, I think that his win won't necessarily mean a manufactured rock album. It's about time that a real rocker wins the show!
7Definitely glad that he won

9That's not Ryan caterpillargirl, it's Michael Johns. He's gorgeous!
10I was so convinced it was going to go the other way (sometimes my cynical self can be a pain) that I almost lost it when they announced Cook as the winner. Awesome moment for him and so well deserved! YAY COOK! So happy for him!

12Umm jaycarter, what does being gay have to do with talent or American Idol?
Anyway sooooooo happy David Cook won. Yay for rockers everywhere!
13maybe clive will let him do record more suiting to his rock vibe.
14Gay isn't a "lifestyle", J, it's a sexual orientation.
15Archuleta could sing, but he didn't seem very marketable. Cook had a vibe and a feeling and he wasn't afraid to take risks. I'm glad he won. I think D.A. will probably still do well for himself.

actually, quick question - is david cook even gay? or is archie? i had no idea...they're both adorable and the girls love em!

22renees3 - hear hear.

23Yay for David Cook! I'm happy with the results, that's all I have to say.
24I didn't really care who won but I thought it was a great finale show. Best one in years!

31I didn't really care who won. I loved them both. So I was happy either way.
32I really could care less, but that pic is pretty funny...
33I agree with the results; both finalists are very talented however David Cook experiments with the arrangement more, so that gave him an edge. I love both Davids and they will have sucess.
34em113, I completely agree with you.
35Cook Rocks!
