As I continue to prep for my journey northward to the 2008 Sasquatch Music Festival, I'm sharing music from some of the bands I'm looking forward to checking out live.

I've already written about the soft, intimate vocals of Joshua Morrison and today I'm spotlighting a band that is already a bit hit in the UK: The Kooks. I like to balance out both my iPod as well as my festival-going experience with equal parts pretty song writing and bouncy, upbeat rock. The Kooks provide the latter and sound a little like The Strokes, or a softer version of Arctic Monkeys.
I think their debut album is a lot of fun and happens to have my favorite song on it, "Naive." To check them out for yourself and let me know what you think, read more.

1i looove them! they're one of my favorites! however they dont sound at all like the arctic monkeys, the kooks are mostly pop, they're goo though. their first album was better than the new one, but i love luke's voice
2love the kooks : )
3I really like them! I downloaded their last CD the day it came out and haven't stopped listening to it since.
4"Naive" is also my favorite song by the Kooks, I want to listen to more of their music.
5"Naive" is awesome.
6I just got finished watching them play on Jimmy Kimmel.
They're fantastic.
I love The Kooks! Their awesome..new album sounds amazing too!*-)
7I only like half of their first album, but it's an very good half!
I def recommend
listening to them!
8I, shamelessly, really like their first album (apparently according to Johnny Borrel it's not cool, but he's an arse. And despite most of it being written about Katie Melua). I'm not loving them so much second time round though, it's a little boring.
9Well actually the Kook's have another album before "Konk" came out.
It's called "Inside In, Inside Out" and I think this one kicked major butt.
I love the 2nd as well and really wish they would tour more often in the Bay area. I'm super excited about seeing them at BFD in June.
10I like the Lily Allen version as well =)
11I adore the Kooks! Their tunes are so infectious and fun. I saw them perform live at a tiny club in Silverlake back in 2006. It was so amazing to see them up close before they blew up in the States. I can't wait for their new album!!!
12i love love love them!!
13love the kooks!!
14I love the Kooks and I love Naive. My favorite song of theirs is She Moves in Her Own Way, which I am listening to right now.
