see - i personally think that cook should win, but i have a feeling that he won't since there are so many teenagers who are in love with the little guy. we'll have to wait and see. to be honest, we all know that both will get a record deal anyway, so it's a win win either way you look at it

I have been hearing rumors that the producers are pushing for little David, and after last night, I think I might believe them. Everything little David did was predictable and his "Imagine" did not sound as awesome as when he first sang it. Plus, I would not call an adult contemporary artist an "idol." But the judges were all saying how great he was, but critizing Cook (unless this was done on purpose by Simon to get more people to vote for big David). Cook is the better entertainer, but I think little David has a larger fan base.

I couldn't believe how much praise David A was getting. He has a great voice, but he's one big BOREfest. David Cook didn't have his best night, but I think he held his own. Also, Clive picked a much harder song for DC to sing and for DA he picked one that was exactly like he's been doing all season.....boring and predictable.

Like always, they'll both have record deals. I wouldn't count out DC just yet though. I think he could win tonight. Simon did say on Jay Leno that he wanted DC to win, so it makes you wonder if he was hard on him so more people would vote.

For the first time ever, I honestly don't care. I will admit that my seething hatred for David Cook has up and left the building. Not sure when that happened, but all of a sudden he no longers bugs the crap out of me. And, David Archuleta just makes me sad now. He seems like a little singing puppet that Daddy has hollowed out and commandeered.

I absolutley love David Cook - and believe he should win, however, with last night's performances, I think David A will take the crown. Just as well, Cook is guaranteed a record deal, and can do what he wants and not be stuck to AI for a year.

Before tonight, either of them was fine. But now, I just can't go on to see David A win. Tonight was boring for him and he sang the same sounding songs. 'Imagine' wasn't as good as the first time for me, maybe because we'd heard it before and it isn't mind-blowing anymore. I adore David C's first song, it was amazing! His second song was OK, but he was way better than Archuleta. I admire him for his third song, because he didn't choose to sing a song he had sang previously and I get his point. Why repeat an old, mind-blowing performance when it was already amazing?

They both bug me, but David c bugs me just a little less.

I prefer David C, but I don't want him to win. I think he'll be better off not working within the whole commercialised structure of AI, which works well for the type of performer is/has become. I think David C is better off waiting the year (at least that's the time they have to wait in the UK), writing his own stuff, and then releasing stuff.

I would rather see DC win, however I feel that every teenage girl in America voted as many times as possible for DA. DC is a much better entertainer. One of the best I've ever seen on idol. If he does not win, I'll still buy his first, second and third album!

I agree with almost everyone. There's a chance David A will win just because lots of people love him, but Cook is the better performer and better "Idol". But David A could have a good career too, just not the idol-y sort. But what do I know? All the old ladies at the dog park love him

HAHAHA. I hate to say it, but I still think the little girls will win out...booo.

Little David bugs me so much. He sings songs that are far too old for a 17 year old but never seems to hear anything about that from the judges. I'm tired of Randy saying he could sing the phone book too. And he's such a dork when he talks. I think his father has too much control over him.

I can't believe that show last night. David Cook is by far the better entertainer. We sit through weeks of Idol and then the judges do all they can to swing the vote. In my opinion Simon should not be permitted to judge the last show ! Leave it to the public without any of his comments.
I am thinking of turning that show off in the future if this baby faced kid and his father win this.

American Idol is a singing competition. While both Davids are great, David A. has an unbelievable voice that is in no comparison to any other idol. He is truely gifted and deserves to win.

I haven't watched a single second of Idol this season, so I know I probably shouldn't have an opinion. I just want to say those are two of the goofiest looking finalists yet... well, besides Justin Guarini and Clay Aiken... but still, the picture made me laugh. Everything from their hair to their clothes just screams "American Idol has fashioned us how they want us to be... we are not original, we are not allowed to have any opinions of our own". I've gotten so sick and tired of what American Idol produces... only one I have ever liked is Kelly Clarkson.

I think that David Cook should win, but either way... they both get record deals, one just gets more marketing and press behind him. I think that David Cook, like Daughtry, has the talent and uniqueness to pull above the marketing crap and sell records anyways.

as much as i love cook (esp. over the other david, who i dont hate but definitely dont love) he's not going to win. the "rocker" type never wins. plus, it's obvious that there are too many teenyboppers who only vote for the "cutest guys" (who can only be about 18 years old, max) or the prettiest looking girls.

but im not sad, since cook doesnt even fit the whole American Idol persona. he's clearly going to have a record deal whether or not he wins, and he never originally intended to even BE on idol. so let the archie kid win and make one hit album that is popular with the 13 year olds until a new idol can replace him next year.

ugh! DA us SO boring and predictable, I honestly can not believe that NONE of the judges ever called him on that! He is a great singer but I think in order to be an American Idol he need a few years to mature. Please oh please don't let him win!!!
