Rachel Weisz was smart to drop out...

I knew a guy whose brother is an agent for one of the actors in the movie. He was able to get his hands on the script before hand. He told me that it was horrible.

I think they just make a new Mummy movie whenever Brendan Fraser is tired of not being able to find work.

awww this plotline isnt even based on any history. the first movie was linked to magical mysterious Ancient Egyptian rituals, so I was really spooked when I was young. This one is just weird. Maybe because I'm chinese and I know the emperors didn't do mummy stuff lol

here we go again LOL! i loved pt.1, but this one looks kinda goofy. still watching it though.

I LOVED the first two Mummy Movies (which were also cheesy, I might add) but I really wanted there to be another film as long as all of the lead actors agreed to come back and it was a solid script. Sadly, Rachel Weisz decided not to do it and they picked Maria Bello (WTF?) instead. I don't really have anything against her, but I don't think you can replace Rachel Weisz in this particular film. They also have a new director, who is only known for directing the xXx and the Fast and the Furious.

i looooove rachel weisz...she was one of the things that i loved most about the original movie and one of the reasons i tolerated the second one too bad she dropped out of the third one.

i absolutely love any movie set in egypt. cheesy fun for sure!

forgot to add that i'm unhappy it's chinese not egyptian. doesn't mean i'm not going to see it though!

I must admit, that I really loved The Mummy and The Mummy Returns and I know I own at least one, if not both movies.

That said, I will be going to see it...but I'm sad that there's no Rachel Weisz. Why not just do the movie for kicks, it seems like a blast.

honestly it looks pretty freakin stupid, but i do have a (lame) soft spot in my heart for these movies, so i'm sure i'll see it.

i will say that i fully sponsor Rachel Weisz not wanting to be in this crap. but again, i will totally go see it.

I loved the first two, very much, so I'm gonne give a chance to this last one as well. but I'm very worried with this far-east-twist: I really hated the third asiatic pirates of the carribean, so I hope this trend to move every sequel toward east will soon drop.
I'm afraid it will rely too much on the special FXs too, and less on the script. Let's hope not!

the humor in the first 2 editions is great so i imagine the third to be an extension of that. the actors are just funny and even the bad guys are a hoot. you can't pass up cheesy goodness like that! i can't wait to replace scorpion king with the mummy 3 in my box collection. that movie totally sucked!

The first two Mummy movies are among my favorites, but this one looks like a stinker. They're clearly trying to hide the fact that they replaced Rachel Weisz, and I think not having her will hurt the movie a lot. I also think it's a huge mistake to move away from Egypt – the Evelyn character's whole area of expertise/past lives is Egyptian. And it's not like Egypt is short on mummies.

jonathan is hilarious in the movies, anyway the movie doesnt look that good, but... i have a soft spot for the mummy movies so i'll be watching it against better judgement:)

well I kinda like the 2 first ones so I will definitely see this one and Jet Li is in it som that's a plus

I did like the first two, but I have absolutely no interest in seeing this one. Forget that Rachel Weisz isn't going to be in it. ...I'm upset that Oded Fehr isn't in it! He's yummy.

I also loved the first two (I'm an archaeology nerd) and I thought they were hilarious so I'll probably go see this one too.
But I'm sad Rachel Weisz isn't in it bc I love her! But I guess I can see why she wouldn't want to be in a third sequel. It also looks like the son's not there either and he was adorable! (Although he's probably a teenager now anyway...)
One problem with the trailer though, why do Brendan Fraiser and Jet Li get top billing but there's not even a mention of Michelle Yeoh?? She's awesome!

Since my comment didn't go through because it contained a picture, Maria Bello (who took over for Rachel Weisz's role) told MTV that there are going to be TWO TO THREE MORE MUMMY SEQUELS!! Thats just great :eyeroll:

Have you read the plot for this movie? have you checked the characters...I'm pretty sure the whole family is there...Eve of course has been raplaced...the kid is now grown...and it looks like fun...

is not a history class, is not based on reality....just cause someone says it's cheesy...doesn't mean it is...but for that matter I agree with whoever said...ALL of them are cheesy..and that's the fun of them....

that's what makes it fun to watch: the movies are cheesy! i especially love the lead's brother; he makes such a good supporting actor! i've been a big fan of the last two movies and i'm sure this will be included in my 'list'!

Oh, I'm sure I'll see it cuz I loved the first two but I'm another one that's sad that Rachel Weisz's character is being replaced by Mario Bello. It would've been better to just write the character out or something.
