OMG, where to start?! The season finale of The Office was so. Freaking. Great. I honestly think this is hugely due to Amy Ryan's spot-on performance as the new HR lady at Dunder-Mifflin. I loved her! And then there were all the twists and turns (that didn't just have to do with Pam and Jim, like that very last scene!). And the whole storyline with Kevin is, I think, one of the funniest, cleverest things I've seen on television in a long time.

The going-away party for Toby was amazing! It made me so happy for the new party planner in town, Phyllis, as though she's an actual person I know in real life. Sometimes I think I get too involved in these shows. I really wanted to give her a hug.
Also, thanks to Creed, there now exists the job title of "Quabity Aschwitz." Amazing.
What did you think about this finale? Were you as delighted by it as I was? Check out SavvySugar's "most relatable moments" post, complete with a clip from the show. For some of the parts I thought were the best and funniest, and to share your thoughts, read more.
- The episode began with a good old-fashioned prank from Jim. I don't know how John Krasinski keeps a straight face as Dwight is reaching his fingers along his face, trying to grab the ear piece. Too funny.
- Kelly: "I can't believe this is your last day. How do you feel?"
Toby: "Fine. Good."
Kelly: "I feel weird." - Michael says he wants anti-gravity potion and Pam doesn't miss a beat. "So, how much anti-gravity potion do you want?"
Angela: "No, you know what, this is not a party planning committee anymore. And I don't want your foot money and I feel uncomfortable participating." - Pam, about her going to design school for three months in New York: "The timing is pretty much perfect." She lights up: "And that is the first time I've used the word perfect in here." She's so freaking cute.
- Dwight says he hates the new HR lady because "She stinks. . . with her. . . ways and her. . . head."
- Michael: "Thanks to Toby, I have a very strong prejudice against Human Resources. I believe that the department is a breeding ground for monsters. What I failed to consider, though is that not all monsters are bad. Like E.T. Is Holly our extra-terrestrial? Maybe. Or maybe she's just an awesome woman from this planet."
- Seriously, Holly thinking Kevin is mentally challenged is probably not too P.C. but it made me laugh until I was choking on my own laughter. He offers her an M&M. "I keep them here at my desk so that everybody doesn't take them."
Holly: "Well, that is a very safe place for them!"
Holly, later: "You drive your own car?" "I'm proud of you!" - Creed, trying to sound out what his job is: "I shoulda written it down. Qua-something. Qua, quar, quabble, quow, quab. . .quabity! Quabity aschwitz! No. No, but I'm getting close."
- Michael, making a "CD mix tape" for Holly, possibly using "Crash" by Dave Matthews Band.
Michael: "What's the group that was from Scranton that hit it big? Was that U2?"
Jim: "Yup." - Toby's affection for Pam fluctuates from sweetly adorable to a little icky. "I would love a picture of the two of us to take to Costa Rica."
- Jim, after giving Phyllis money for fireworks at Toby's party: "I'm going to propose tonight. Holy crap!" Squee!
- Angela shredded her list of vendors. So Phyllis slides books off Angela's desk. "Sorry."
I love it when Phyllis gets mildly mean. - I'm so glad that Michael's attempt to berate Toby is thwarted by Pam and Holly joining in, and he then has to ask his mean questions in an innocent voice. "Who do you think you are?"
Toby: "I'm. . . Toby." - Michael got Toby a rock with a note attached that says "Suck on this." And he made Dwight wrap it.
- After Oscar explains Ryan's fraud: "The real crime, I think, was the beard."
- Mose Schrute! He uncages a raccoon into Holly's car.
- "Jan didn't believe in showing affection so sometimes I don't know how to react when a girl touches me. So. I like it!" Michael giggles.
- Michael's songs include "Beers in Heaven" (which is "very sexual") and "Total Eclipse of the Fart."
- Pam, about Toby: "Don't tell him I said this, but I always thought he was kinda cute." So bittersweet!
- Here's the line I laughed at the most: "You cheated on me? When I specifically asked you not to?"
- Jan: "If I was 22 and I had lots of time to have lots of children then sure, let's let Michael have a shot at one of 'em. But honestly, I need to make this one count."
- So Andy Bernard is the one to ruin Jim's proposal to Pam by proposing to Angela!
Angela: "OK."
Andy: "Into the mike, sweetie."
Angela: "I said OK." - Aww, one of the great tragedies of The Office: Just as Michael has a not-so-weird flirtation with a woman (Holly), he learns of Jan's pregnancy and it messes everything up.
- O.M.G. Phyllis happily explains that party planning gives a high, like a runner's high before walking in on Dwight and Angela doing it in the office! Discuss!

S***r
I have been trying to find the youtube video of Ryan being arrested but am not successful
1By the way did anyone else notice that Pam did not read her entire letter
She is probably
missing up essential info
2It's BACK!!!!!!!!! Last night was hilarious, clever, well-written, and well-acted.
Yes, I agree that John needs an award for keeping a straight face while Rainn groped his face. Also, setting up all of Kevin's lines so that we see them through the lens of his "special needs" was freaking genius. That was the funniest thing I've seen on tv all year!
And of COURSE Andy would step in and ruin the proposal because he's "that" guy.
Loved it loved it loved it.
3I can't find it either, Jess.
Okay, thoughts on the show:
Best episode all season. It felt totally old-school. Yay!
The Kevin/Holly thing was AMAZING. That's what the spinoff should be: Holly thinking Kevin is mentally challenged. For years and years. I love when he said "I'm totally going to bang Holly."
I'm glad Jim didn't propose. I think that if Jim and Pam end up all happy the show will get boring. But I have a theory that maybe he'll get Ryan's job now and he and Pam will move to NY and they will be the spinoff. That would suck.
I was SO happy to see Dwight and Angela doing it at the end.
And I was so happy to see Mose.
And they need more Creed. Period.
4i LOVE Creed, I wish they did more with him, everything he says is awesome. And I agree the whole Kevin thing had me cracking up the whole time.
5and I feel bad for Pam.
I also wondered about Pam not finishing the letter; Toby's exit interview had the potential to be so incredibly ugly - they did a great job keeping it funny with Pam prodding Michael; I love the idea of Kevin and Holly going on forever with her thinking he's special; there should be more Creed definitely; Jan's news came totally out of the blue - it's a little weird but still within the realm of possibility. I love that Phyllis won a round.
6Holly is so perfect for Michael. When she spoke "Yoda" back to him my jaw dropped. And then to his question about would she be town this weekend and he was going to be out of town, she said "But you'll miss my orgy." I seriously thought Michael was going to profess his love for her right there & then.
7Funniest Michael line, "If the devil were to explode and evil were gone forever...What sort of party would you have?"
It was an all around amazing episode, and a great way to end the season.
I can't wait to see what's going to happen with Dwight and Angela. So freakin' crazy!
8amazing episode.. just amazing
it had everything, pregnant woman, arrest for fraud, pranks, sex on a desk... oh Dear Lord
Like the old office... I was laughing and losing the air!!!
Still think Jan is perfect for Michael, I saw it on that episode when Michael has two jobs, and she runs to find him and told him that he was there when she needed him and so she will be when he needs her... sweet, because I saw that when she saw Michael, she didn't hesitated on inviting him to the lamas class...
Poor Jim, and Mr. Andy Bernard thinking, it was a perfect time,. with fireworks and everything... and Jim face "yes it was the perfect time!!!"
and the last scene...OMG OMG OMG... I spend like 5 minutes without moving...
9GREAT episode. Everything about it was so memorable. I can remember almost every scene and line after watching it only once.
LOVED the new character Holly: Amy Ryan was so SPOT on! I hope they keep her around.
10I want Jim to propose since I've been waiting for it and it's not fair if I don't see one, but I'm glad he didn't after Andy's because that would have tainted the proposal for the marriage that would actually happen/last. I wonder how long they're going to have Holly think Kevin is "special". And I love that Creed has no idea what he does there.
11you can find the video of ryan being taken away on nbc.com under the office section
this episode might be one of my favorites from this season
12I love Jim's prank on Dwight in the beginning and then when Michael is at the office early dancing around because Toby is leaving. I was laughing almost the whole episode. I love Kevin he is so funny and Holly is a great fit with the office staff. Creed definitely needs to say more totally in appropriate stuff. He was maybe my favorite part, all backed up against the fridge not knowing what he does. Hilarious. I don't necessarily want to see it be all happy and married and all that with Jim and Pam but I really didn't like seeing her all sad and almost crying when she was taking the picture with Toby. I didn't like the whole Andy proposing to Angela but that was all solved by the last scene.
13The Ryan arrest clip is up on The Office website ... but you're not missing much. No dialogue, just Ryan being led out of the office by a few cops. (Oh, and a coworker eagerly capturing the moment on his camera phone
14My goodness...this was one of the funniest EVER. This Amy Ryan chick is now my most favorite character.
151. The whole Kevin being slow= down right hilarity...and everybody just went along with it. Priceless
2.Michael's and Holly's connection interrupted by Jan's selfish pregnancy...so sad
3. darn you Andy for your stupid proposal to Angela...I knew she and Dwight were going to get back together
4. this is how i would like to see Jim and Pam play out.
Jim will go for Ryan's job
Pam will go to school= both of them will be in New York...and he's going to propose when no one is expecting it like at the carnival in the parking lot...I know it won't happen like that, but whatev
That's my take...see you in the fall
Oh and Toby could of had a chance with Pam, she said he was kind of cute
16Pam said that Toby was cute before - in the episode where Ryan started the fire, where they played "Who would you do?" in the parking lot.
17!!! This was a great episode! Every twist and turn had me on my seat and gasping! AWESOME. I feel like the Office is finally back from the writer's strike and got back into the groove of things. Too bad the season had to end!
18I guess I am the only one, but I was disappointed. It just wasn't as good as I thought it would be. There were hilarious moments, though.
19This episode WAS AMAZING. It so made up for all the other ones sucking a little bit.
I personally thought the Kevin/Holly thing was incredibly funny and well done. I like Holly, and she was so awesome.
I was pretty shocked though that Michael chose Jan, when Holly must be like, his soulmate or something. There aren't a whole lot of people cut out to be Michael Scott's soulmate. And he couldn't even google lamaze classes for Jan? He wants a kid so bad but he isn't prepared at ALL. I can see Michael leaving Jan for Holly.
And I was bummed that Andy screwed up Jim's proposal.. JIM picked out fireworks, which made the whole night special, but Andy got to it first. Ughhhhhhh. Their engagement won't last, I know it. The scene at the end gave me some hope for Dwangela
And in conclusion to my lengthy post, I felt really glad for Phyllis. She stood up to Angela and made a really cool party. I want to see her stand up to Angela more often. It would be pretty funny to see her act really sassy and/or go power-hungry.
20The Office has been losing me these past few episodes, but this one completely saved it. I love love LOVE Amy Ryan, she is just adorable, and I had no idea she could do comedy!! (I only know her from The Wire and Gone Baby Gone.)
So much hilariousness, you all have pretty much nailed my favorite parts. It was extremely gratifying to see Ryan getting arrested, especially after he was such a jerk to Jim. Oscar's comments were priceless.
I forgot that Pam didn't read the entire letter! I like the theory that the spinoff is Pam and Jim moving to NY. I'm torn between wanting them to be together because I like them both so much, and wanting them to have problems because it's too boring when everyone is all happy.
21I am obsessed with this episode and it's staying on my DVR until next season
Jess,
great point about Pam not finishing her letter, I was so excited for her that I didn't consider that something was amiss and maybe not so "perfect."
22I was so bummed (as was Pam, I presume) that Jim didn't propose...BUT Phyllis catching Dwight & Angela hooking up was WAY BETTER!!!!!!!!!!! Yay for Dwight!!
23Last night's episode was the best one in so long!!!! I was SO happy with it...I get SO into it, my husband says that I act like I know these characters in real life. Haha.
I'm definitely bummed for Jim and Pam because I sense trouble for them...not sure what yet, but definitely something. I think she was really sad and disappointed that Jim didn't propose, and I think it's going to make her question their relationship.
I also noticed that she didn't even read her acceptance letter--something could happen with that.
Holly is awesome. I loved all the scenes with her and Michael. I'm thrilled that Amy Ryan is part of the DM crew now!
And the ending...classic.
24Oh yeah, I think the Kevin and Holly interactions were my favorite parts of this episode...
25Best post-strike episode yet, and it's a finale!!
26I have to agree with EVERYTHING that buzzsugar says. The most hilarious plot is between holly and kevin. She is so careful when she talk to kevin, it's hilarious! And also, she seems to be on the same wavelength as michael, hope they actually would end up together. But I really hated Andy for proposing before Jim, but I guess that's the shock! Nothing compares to the last 5 seconds of the finale though:)
Hopefully Pam wouldn't be too disappointed about Jim:(
Oh, I hope to see more Angela v.s Phyllis to see who gets to be american next top party planner:)
27Luv the line about Human resource as a breeding ground for monsters!
I really hope that Jim not proposing at the party doesn't make her question their relationship. They are so sweet together.
I have to say that one of my favorite parts of the entire episode was Holly finding Kevin in front of the vending machine and coming in to give him a hand with getting a snack.
"Let's see how much you have to spend. Twenty-five cents, fifty cents, ah, that's a button..."
28AMAAAAZING!! I laughed so hard I could barely breathe.
The Dwight/Angela sex scene? EW EW EW! And poor Angela, her face is so big from the pregnancy! She looks really different.
I loved the Kevin thing. The best part was, after Dwight told her that, no one else was in on it. Kevin was just himself and it all played perfectly. It was genius.
And darn that Mr. Andy Bernard! I wanted them to get engaged!!! I felt so bad for Pam at the end. But even worse for Phyllis. Yikes!
And how cruel is Jan? That is like the meanest thing ever. Seriously. Holly is so much better for him. And doesn't seem like a psychopath.
29The Kevin-Holly thing was genius. Seriously.
I wanted to reach through the tv and punch Micahel in the face for sticking by that horrid b*tch Jan and giving up a chance for Holly. Michael, WAKE UP!
I knew something would get in the way of Pam and Jim. If they leave the show, there's no point in keeping it on.
I always love when Mose Schrute is on. I think he's my favorite character.
And Dwight and Angela! My jaw dropped. And then I squealed. That was a long time coming.
30Holly thinking Kevin is special is perhaps the best thing ever. I was like dying of laughter every time those two had a scene together!
Also, I thought it was kind of sweet that Michael was going to help Jan raise the baby even though it wasn't his. Jan's a b*tch, but Michael was sweet about it never-the-less.
I was so pissed the Jim didn't propose to Pam! Gahhh! Made me soooo angry! But I did like the twist with Andy and Angela and then Angela hooking up with Dwight and Phyllis catching them!
This was definitely the Office at its best. Although I am sad to see Tobey go...
31Oh god. Kevin and the whole Holly thing had my laughing forever. Definitely one of my fave episodes. Dwangela is my favorite Office couple, I absolutely loved the ending.
32It seemed to me that almost every plot line got turned on it's head! It was brilliant. Micheal loves HR. Pam and Jim didn't get together. Angela and Dwight... Pam heading to NYC...
33WHEN IS THE MOVIE!!!
Awesome episode! I was happy to see Tobey go. I feel like Michael does with that guy. He just kind of ruins the whole HR experience for me.
Loved Holly. Loved Kevin. LOVED Creed! And I'm really happy that lil wimp Ryan is gone. It
was priceless when Kelly said:
34"I cannot wait to visit Ryan in prison. I'm gonna wear my hottest track suit, and get my hair done, and then be like, "Hi Ryan." And then all the other prisoners are gonna be like, "Damn! Ryan, you got a hot ex-girlfriend. Ooh, I would never have treated her so bad when I was outside of prison."
Ha! That was one of my favorite parts too, radarkitty!!
This episode was AWESOME! It was like they flipped a switch back on. I'm saving it on my DVR too.
And I can't wait for next season!
35This was one of the BEST EPISODES!! I couldn't not stop grinning....Toby kinda creeped my out with all his pictures of him and Pam, and that whole thing with Jan and her baby is just mean, but it made for an amazing finale!
Can't wait for more of the Office!
36This is an AWESOME EPISODE! I loved everything about it! I couldn't stop laughing! I was so sad for Jim when Andy stole the spotlight from Jim without even knowing it! and Go Phyllis!! I love it when she stands up to Angela. That last scene was probably the best 'last scene' ever!!!! I cant wait to see what happens next season!
37I want Jim and Pam to get engaged, but have a long engagement. I think that just because characters get together, it doesn't mean that everything will always be sunshine and light. And happiness doesn't always equal boring, as long as you have great writers, which I believe the Office does. There is nothing I hate more than when writers keep lovers apart unnecessarily and for ridiculous reasons, just because they think conflict is necessary for a romance to be interesting.
I actually thought that Jim would propose in the last 30 seconds at the end of the show, so we were all glued to the screen. Had no idea that we'd be seeing Dwight and Angela going at it!
38" There is nothing I hate more than when writers keep lovers apart unnecessarily and for ridiculous reasons, just because they think conflict is necessary for a romance to be interesting."
Exactly!
39I loved this episode!
40I was wondering if Toby left for good and if Amy Ryans has joined the cast? Or will we not know til next season?
Coz I thought she was great, and Holly/Michael could become the next Jim and Pam!!
Well of course jennifer76! I already knew it would be before you even said that.
And jennav too! Tee hee.
41The last minute of the show was the best part.
I didn't see it coming.
42I sooooo love this show. I am glad that they are not putting Pam and Jim together so fast. As long as they don't prolong it, then I am ok with it.
I felt so bad for Michael. He was having such great chemistry with Holly and now he is going to be a daddy...well sorta.
Dwight is that man!
43FINALLY! ever since the writer's strike all the episodes have been missing "that something" but they finally got it back! IT was so AMAZING! by far the funniest was Holly being convinced that Kevin is special! "Do you want an M&M?" and later she says "Wow, it must be a big day for him, party AND the supermarket!" and when he waves to her from his car! priceless!
I AM SO MAD AT ANDY!!!!! Pam was so sad!!!!
sigh....I'm going to miss this over the summer
44That finale was all-around FANTASTIC. Dwangelaaaa! I wonder if the writers anticipated how much we anticipated the last 30 seconds... My heart, like, bleeds for Michael. I giggled when Holly yoda-ed him back. Another thing that sucks about Jim's unproposal? Jim blew all that fireworks money on Andy's proposal.
45the ending =o!!
46thank goodness that the writers came to their senses! this episode was definitely the best of the season! i must admit that i didnt have high expectations after such a mediocre 4th season, but i was proved wrong in this last episode. i was disappointed that jim didnt propose to pam, but the episode was still very funny and i actually laughed out loud for the first time in a while. great episode and i cant wait for the next season!
47i loved this episode, but i missed the ending because i live in canada and it cut out early to canadian programming. i figured i didn't miss much, so i am so glad i read this post! man.
48i really wanted Jim to propose....especially since my now-fiance was my own personal Jim!!
49The show was really funny. surprisingly, i was caught off guard when the HR lady thought Kevin was mentally challenged. lol. Cant wait til next season. i wonder what will happen with jim and pam
