Wow, the trailer for The Edge of Love (previously titled The Best Time of Our Lives) looks breathtakingly beautiful. The film follows the true story of a love triangle between the poet Dylan Thomas (played by Brothers and Sisters' Matthew Rhys!), his wife Caitlin (Sienna Miller) and a woman named Vera Phillips (Keira Knightley). Vera eventually married William Killick (the ever-chilling Cillian Murphy) but still couldn't tear herself away from her poet — despite becoming close friends with Caitlin. In the strange real-life story, the jealous William ultimately attacked Dylan and Caitlin's house.
Comparisons could be made to Atonement, for sure, as the visual tone of the film has that same sweeping, desperate romance (and the hair, makeup and costume artists have done an impeccable job on this film as well). Knightley even says her husky "Come back" in the trailer. But it also looks distinctly, grippingly different. Especially for those of you who enjoyed Becoming Jane, or any number of other dramatic films about writers' lives, you must treat yourself to this extremely beautiful trailer.
There's no U.S. release date yet (sad!) but the film premieres at the Edinburgh Film Festival on June 18 and opens elsewhere in the UK June 20. To watch the trailer, read more.

Oooh. Goosebumps. Seriously.
1It looks pretty good...it seems like Atonement in a lot of ways. The way that Keira says "Come back to me, I love you" etc. and the scene with the beach at the end of the trailer.
2I am so excited to see this, they all look so amazing in the film. I'm also glad Cillian is using his real accent.
3This looks pretty amazing. Sienna looks gorgeous in the trailer too. I have nothing to do for the whole of June so I'll be camping out in the cinema to see this.
4Wow!
5oh wow, I am definitely going to love this. Goosebumps already. I adored Atonement but with Keira AND Sienna as the two leading ladies, I really cannot wait until June.
6I LOVED Becoming Jane, but mostly because of James McAvoy. This looks more like Atonement, which I wasn´t thrilled about, but it was OK. But I will definitely check this out also, Kiera is so talented.
7I think Cillian is using a British accent, not his real accent. LOVE Matthew Rhys, so I'm definitely checking it out.
8Geez, I'm already rooting for Cillian Murphy just by the trailer...
9wooooo i want to see this....trailer looks good! it does look like atonement though. i love matthew rhys from brothers and sisters
10i don't, didn't look that interesting to me. those type of movies aren't my fav.
11i meant to write (i dont know) woops!
12Looks great! Cillian has an English accent in the trailer - his native accent would be an Irish accent, and specifically a Cork accent. I haven't seen it but I think he'd probably use his own accent in The Wind That Shakes The Barley which is set in Cork
13When I think of a writer and a love triangle, I think of Henry & June Miller and Anaiis Nin.
14A typewriter, a bathtub, Keira in '20's style wardrobe, a war, a beach...
15Smells like Atonement to me (which was SO good, by the way!)
love, love, love! love Dylan Thomas (I hope they do talk about his work and his eccentric personality a least a little), love Kiera, Sienna, and Cillian, and love period movies (especially 20s-50s), so I'll definitely be there...
16this is the movie lindsey lohan was originally set to be in? geez she would have ruined this!
17oh god this looks awful. i feel like i am supposed to like boring dramas like this but i just can't. i love period movies usually, but Keira knightly bores me. and these movies all look the same. she totally ruined pride and prejudice. i wish they'd cast a different actress once in a while in these period films.
18i like the last line in the trailer... about first love and last love.
I love Sienne Miller, but I'm not the biggest Keira Knightly fan...
and tdamji, I completely agree that she ruined Pride and Prejudice.... of course, for me, no pride and prejudice can ever top the A&E one.
19OMD! This looks amazing! I absolutely LOVED Atonement, so I hope this film is as amazing or better!!
20Wow, they dodged a bullet when they lost HoHan. Can you imagine her in such a carefully designed period piece, with her gallons of blonde Ken Paves fake hair and her radioactive orange skin attempting an Irish-with-a-hint-of-Welsh accent??? She would've totally ruined it! This is why she doesn't get acting jobs anymore.
21blah I really can't stand sienna miller, but I might see this just because I really like Cillian.
22And I agree, THANK GOD lindsay wasn't in this. I really don't even know why they bother with her. Why won't she go away?
goosebumps! cillian looks so gorgeous.
23I love Keira in these period pieces...no one can do them like she can. The movie looks really interesting and good. I couldn't imangine LL in this for 2 seconds
24RUN CILLIAN ITS GOING TO BITE YOU
25Hmm.. glad Lohan's not in this. But I'm not really feeling this one. It looks alright. But I want a fresh face. I love Keira and I love period pieces but I think they need to seperate for a while.
26It looks amazing!
27Pretty compelling trailer, hopefully this one is better than Atonement.
28It looks interesting
29ehhh.. I tad mellow-dramatic perhaps... I don't know. Ever since Atonement, a tremendously overrated movie, Keira has been bugging me.
30I have been dying to see this.
Love the reference to Anais Nin and Henry and June Miller, AKIRSTEN. That was *the* love triangle of the 20th century!
Cillian Murphy = sex on legs + great acting talent.
Looking forward to the story line, costumes and period nuances.
Love stories about writers.
Keira is fab and Siena seems good in this.
Saw Rhys in London in a play once, he was v. good.
31i w2ant to see it sounds like a classic! cant wait
32This looks fantastic! I can't wait to see it. I love Keira for period pieces but she's going to have to do something different and soon or she is going to be typecast.
33BTW what drunk casting agent wanted to put ll in this role? She could never pull off anything this heavy. She's not exactly a great thespian. She's more the romantic comedy/light chick flick type.
34wow i've been waiting to see a trailer for this movie for so long and it definitely looks good to me. i'm sad that there isn't a release date over here yet. For the critic that said that "keira and sienna deliver the best performances of their lives" confuses me a little. I think they are incredible actresses and i'm thrilled to see someone giving sienna miller credit, but best performances of their lives is a little soon, they're still young.
35Oh and by the way Atonement was set in the 1930s not 1920s.
