You know I'm excited about the Sex and the City movie and I had a blast at our exclusive screening last night! But over the past few weeks I've been chatting with friends and coworkers about certain apprehensions we had about how the movie might turn out. The biggest qualm I heard was that people really liked the way Sex and the City wrapped up when it was on TV, and there was some fear that the movie's ending wouldn't be as satisfying.
I bet some of you are feeling similarly, so I thought I'd ask you what your best-case and worst-case scenarios are for the movie. What would you like to see happen? What do you fervently hope doesn't? And are any of you so nervous about the big-screen adaptation that you plan to stay away from it entirely? Sound off below.

I am just happy to see what is going on in their lives now. Good or Bad. Just as in real life we have up and down. The characters are the most interesting about the series.
1I don't know what I'm expecting/wanting, but I know I am scarily excited!
Actually, I guess I hope Carrie and Big have conflict, but wind up together. I think the best episodes are when they have disagreements.
I hope Miranda and Steve stay together; I've heard she has trouble juggling everything in the movie.
I hope Samantha and Smith break up; I like them together, but I feel like Samantha is the quintessential single woman.
I hope Charlotte goes back to working in the art world...I know it's unlikely, but I would like to see her juggling career and family.
2I just hope it stays true to the show, most movies seem ridiculous compared to the original books/tv shows. Nonetheless, I'm quite excited to see it.
3I'm apprehensive about it, but more than that, I am very, very curious.
I'm one of the few people who didn't like the series finale. I'm glad that Carrie left Petrovsky, because she was losing herself with him, but I'm not glad that she ended up with Big (as much as I like the character). Big's already been married twice and cheated on both of his ex-wives. So why are we (and Carrie) supposed to be all "Okay, he's changed now, blah blah blah." I don't trust him. I think that the movie would be awesome if Carrie ended up alone and independent. And happy to be that way.
I also hope Miranda has a good, juicy storyline. I love her the most.
4I hope they don't kill any one off, there are rumors that some one dies. I hope not, if that is the case then they were better of not having the movie and letting us all pretend everyone ended up happy.
5I hope that it ends all of the discussions. I'm so over this movie and tired of hearing about it everywhere I turn.
6I'm worried that they may have Samantha's cancer return, and then this time it doesn't go into remission.
Does anyone know if Stanford is in the movie? I loved his character!
I hope Big & Carrie live happily ever after - with NO cheating on his part....and eventually have a little Big or Carrie running around.
And lastly...I Can't Wait to see the Fashions!!!!
7Yes, Stanford will be in the movie!
8Liss, I heard the same thing. I was thinking Big would die, but I have heard of so many people who like the movie, so now I'm thinking maybe he won't.
All I know is that midnight can't come quickly enough!
9I am just so excited and happy to be able to finally see this movie and all these characters again! Tomorrow night at 8:00!! can't wait!! I'm not worried or anxious about what happens in the movie at all, just very excited to see it and hoping for more sequels to continue.
10i know that everyone says that they are the BIGGEST SATC fan, but i really do think that i am, and i'm a little nervous about the movie - i can't lie. i know what i want to happen, and i know that they aren't going to give us exactly what we're expecting, so i'm just not sure what to think. i've stopped watching ALL commercials for the movie though - i can't stand watching them and not seeing the movie, so i'll be happy once i've been to the theater to see it.
11It's definitely interesting to read what everybody thinks!
12I'm the same way, ilanac! I can't watch the commercials any more. I am just too anxious to see the movie.
And yes, I really am a HUGE fan and have been since the beginning. I was a freshman in high school when the show started and had to sneak to watch it because my Mom didn't want me watching it.
And yes, everyone does claim they are such a big fan, but I swear, I really, really am! I am so excited for tonight! I think my roommate is, too, because she's thinking I may finally shut up about it! I told her (well, keep telling her!) that I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for the movie to come out!
13anything has to be better than the awful ending of the show!
14I'm seeing it in an hour!!! I'm mainly worried about the Carrie/Big relationship. Although he is the man for her etc etc they weren't exactly healthy for each other over the course of the tv show so I hope that we can see them actually be good for each other in a believable way.
I also have high hopes for the fashion!
15someone told me Big died but this was before the movie came out- and i'm pretty sure they were just messing with me to make me mad lol (yes it was a guy haha). either way though- i'm just excited! i just hope the relationships between the 4 girls are as fun and funny as they were on the show. and o yes.. the fashion!!
16I'm so excited for the clothes. I picked out an outfit to wear to it tonight and my roomie has mocked me endlessly for it, but I don't care!
17Buzz, aren't you going to post a review of the movie? Or will a review be too spoiler-y?
18Haha, yeah, Whip I'll post a review of the movie, tomorrow morning. I won't spoil anything for y'all, I'll just give you my thoughts and impressions. So, you know, stay tuned...
19I am hoping for fantastic outfits, and happy Charlotte/Harry, because they are my favourite part of the show.
20I am deathly afraid that they handle the Steve/Miranda with too heavy a hand-I don't want to see her punished for being a working mom with his affair, which in itself seems so unrealistic--seriously? Steve cheating?--that I'm not looking forward to it.
Can I request that if people are going to post spoilers they warn us first? I'm talking not just speculation, but things you actually know are going to happen; a simple SPOILER ALERT will do Thanks!
21I just hope it's good. PERIOD!
I must say I am a bit nervous for this, because of all the hype. I just hope it leaves you with the same feelings the series episodes did. They almost always left me with a smile, they were so witty, funny, & unexpected. There really & truly is NOTHING like it on TV today.
And I must mention, I am staying FAR FAR away from any internet sites that might say ANYTHING about the movie! I'm not reading a single review! Thanks to my lil brother, who is graduating high school Friday, I can't go see it until Saturday!
But it's ok, because I'm throwing a party with hors devours & cocktails before the movie, then going to a trendy sushi place/bar afterwards to discuss it! And I'm even having my friend/producer come to my party as a "surprise guest". He used to be an actor in New York, and he was in the episode where Big gets Carrie that jeweled purse she hates and they go to a party. He's not just a random party extra, he is literally standing RIGHT BEHIND SJP when she is in conversation! Haha... It'll be great!
22my fears? that this isnt the one and only last hurrah...and i would have to be subjected to these women more in the future.
23The only thing that would disappoint me is if Carrie really doesn't marry Big. I couldn't take it! I'm going to see the movie at Midnight, so hopefully I won't be ranting about it in a few hour!
24I'd definitely a little nervous of how things will play out...I loved the finale so much, part of me wishes they just left it alone, with all the characters happy and looking forward to the future. But I AM very excited to see it...
My biggest fear I guess is that Big will die...I don't know why I think that. But I hope it doesn't happen.
25My hope is that people will stop talking about it already, I hate S&TC.
26good luck with that one, Lyv
27i want big and carrie to get married and if big dies or ditches carrie it will ruin it for me and i will be pissed!
28I feel the opposite really. I always hated that Big and Carrie ended up together in the series. I felt it set unrealistic hope for dysfunctional real-life relationships everywhere. And I hope-as I hoped then-that Carrie ends up alone. We need a new kind of happy ending that exists for single women!
29I do like the way the series ended. All I want is for Steve and Miranda to stay together, and Charlotte to have her happy family with a baby!! I don't want anyone to die or Carrie and Big to get married...
30As long as it remains true to the show, then I will be happy.
