Yes, this is ridiculous, but, hey, it wasn't my idea! According to the Hollywood Reporter, there actually will be a computer-animated movie titled Cereal Heroes featuring cereal mascots who go on a high-stakes mission to save the world. Check it out:
David Meinstein (Portal) is writing the screenplay, which revolves around cartoon cereal box-mascots who are mistakenly brought to life when a plan to replace the world's fallen superheroes with characters from comic books goes awry. They soon find themselves on the run in an unfamiliar world that only they can save from destruction.
You know what would be awesome? If there were a movie like this but in the vein of Comedy Central's Drawn Together, a sort of adult tongue-in-cheek take on these characters. Anyway.
Now, most likely it won't be already existing cereal mascots, which is good since there are very few (if any?) female cereal mascots (though a few of them are pretty androgynous). Did you have a favorite cereal character as a kid? Which ones would make good movie characters?

No, no, no - please let's not encourage such a pitiful idea!
1Stupid idea. Why is it that now I hear about something that isn't a remake, it has to be a stupid idea?
2Reminds me of Space Jam... :S Not necessarily a good or bad thing.
3They should make a movie about Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry.
4Dude, they should make a movie about Snap, Crackle and Pop, and how Snap is dating Crackle, but cheats on him with Crackle's best friend Pop, who is secretly dating Fred Flintstone because he likes his frutiy pebbles....
I'm so sorry but that is the first thing that popped into my mind.
5Sounds like another craptastic idea from Hollywood.
6Sounds like the people here don't know/care about the creator. If anyone else here has played Portal, you would know that this will be dark, hilarious, and awesome. Six hours of your time, it's worth it to play that game.
7I have to go with the Rice Krispie guys because there are 3 of them so there would be more subplots.
