Based on the popular young adult book series by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight is one highly anticipated film, especially on the part of MTV which has been reporting on the film's production a lot. Catherine Hardwicke, director of Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown, seems to be familiar with stories of teenage life, though vampire kids might be new territory for her. IMDB describes the plot thusly: "A teenage girl risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire."
Though the new teaser trailer looks a little like something you'd see on the CW Thursday night lineup, I have to say I'm loving the color palette of it — all the chilly, mistiness of the forest shots, and the mysterious cloudy-gray overall tone.
Any fans of the Twilight books out there? What do you think about this project? Does the teaser make you want to see the film? We've got a while to wait, as Twilight doesn't hit theaters until December 12. To check out the teaser, read more.

Interesting... I might rent it but probably won't see it in the theaters.
1i love teenage vampire-movies and this trailer looks especially great. can't wait to watch the movie.
2I'll definitely see it. Looks great to me!
3OH my god!!
the teaser is awesome!!!
I can´t wait to see it!!!!!!!
OMG!
4I had never heard of this film until about a month or so ago when tMF (www.themovie-fanatic.com) starting a series of articles about the books and film. Now I am SO EXCITED about it and think the teaser looks awesome! I am curios to see Robert Pattison in another role outside of Cedric in Harry Potter.
5Meh. Looks cheesy to me. The colors do look great though, muted tones do suit the movie. I just think this will end up as a movie that has an intriguing teaser and not much filler.
6OOOHHH! I'm so excited! It doesn't look as terrible as I thought it was going to! Please read the books though! So, I'm in my twenties and I read teen novels. Shoot me? They are super quick reads and entertaining. Go to your local library if you don't want to spend the money!
7I am a HUGE Twilight fan! I absolutely LOVE the books! The movie looks great, I really like the tone... gosh, I can´t wait 7 months!!
8I just finished the book the other day and got totally hooked! This trailer gave me goosebumps mainly because the memories of the book are still so fresh to me.. I can't wait!!! I love it!
9I can't WAIT for the movie, it looks fantastic so far. Robert Pattinson looks like a terrific Edward!
10I loved the first three books and can't wait for the fourth and final. When I heard the casting choices for the film, I wasn't exactly thrilled but after seeing this trailer, I definitely think it works. I'm so excited!
11Wow, that was an intense teaser. I'm still not entirely sold on the cast (especially Elizabeth Reaser as Esme; I've never liked her on Grey's), but it looks really atmospheric and pretty.
So much of the book is Bella's internal monologue, so I'm really interested to see how Twilight has been adapted to the screen. I can't help feeling like a giddy teenage girl (I'm no longer a teen, so I have no excuse) when thinking about the movie or the fourth book!
12I'm a biggggggggg fan of twilight and omg! this looks amazing! I can't waitt!
13It looks alright, I'll probably just rent it or buy a dvd. I like browsing YA sections in bookstores, I've seen this before and however much I actually like vampire novels (big Anne Rice fan over here), I didn't like the premise of the story.
14I read the books and I enjoyed the first, tolerated the second, and thought the third was the best by far. I will read the fourth one and will probably see the movie. My biggest problem with the series is that Bella basically does nothing except mope around, get into trouble, and get saved by her supernatural friends. I wish SHE did more in the series, since she is the hero after all. Without spoiling anything in the Twilight series- imagine if Harry passed out at the end of any of his books and woke up to find Hermione and Ron had beat Voldemort without him, and they just tell Harry what happened later after he woke up. People would flip out right? But Stephanie Meyer gets away with that kind of stuff in her books. Luckily that will be fixed for the movie, so it might be more entertaining.
15I loved loved loved the books, along with all my friends who I've pretty much forced to read them, and now we're all planning road trips to meet up (we're all third year university students) and watch the movie on December 12th! SO excited!
16OMG, I am beyond excited for this film! I can't wait to see it brought to life. You know which film I'll be seeing in December!
17I don't really like the guy they picked as Edward, but then, Edward looks different to every one who reads the series, so there isn't really a perfect actor to play the part. The girl they picked for Bella actually looks the part, I like her.
I frickin' love this series, and I absolutely can't wait for the movie. Just hope they don't screw it up, though; these books are pretty meaty, like Harry Potter.
18The Twilight books are so good. If you have any doubts just pick up the first book and start reading, you will become hooked and love the series as much as all the other people who are so excited for the movie!
19I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE! I read all the books in a weekend and they were so good! Addictive even. I can't wait for the fourth one to come out. The movie looks so good too.
20I love the books and all, but i don't think that i am going to see the movie. I have ideas in my head for what all the characters look like, and i don't want the movie to mess those up for me. I'd also be really dissapointed if the movie was bad.
21I agree with girlnone. I dont like Elizabeth Reaser. I also dont really see the mom and dad as exactly what i pictured by reading the books.
22When I was a teen I read Demon in My View by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, this book sounds very similar to that series. I'm tempted to go see it, but then again, I'm trying to stay away from vampire movies.
23Actually I can't remember if it was In the Forest of the Night by by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes or the other, but either way, it was a teen vampire series written by a (then) teen.
24i am 100% OBSESSED with these books and me and edward cullen have the same birthday (sad, i know
seriously, i am DYING to see this movie!!! wooooooot twilight!
25My friend and I are dying to see it. Mmm...the car scene x3
26it looks almost EXACTLY the way i pictured it!!!
27i was worried about how it was going to turn out but now i cant wait to see it!
28OMGGGGGGGG, I'M SO UNBELIEVABLE EXCITED FOR THIS!
I am still finishing the books, and i'm a bit obsessed...
at first I was not thrilled with who they cast as Edward... but after seeing the trailer I'm actually happy with it!!!!!!
But yeah, I definitely recommend that everyone reads the books first....
29Ok I think I need to get to the library soon.
30Here's the thing: The Twilight books are terrible. They're slow and boring and Edward is the worst literary boyfriend ever written. But! Because the biggest flaw in the books is their pacing, I think the movie might actually be better than the books. In a movie (hopefully), we're not going to be subjected to Bella's nonstop whining and mooning over Edward, but we ARE going to get the atmosphere Meyer meant to create and couldn't do in the books.
31I've read all three books, excited for the new one coming out in August, and I can't wait for the movie.I hope they don't change a lot of things though, because when they make books into movies they always end up either leaving out important things or totally changing things. We'll see I guess.I'll definitely be seeing this in the theater though,I've been waiting far too long to wait for dvd.
32I am dying to see this!!
33Wow, I did not know this was in the works! I just put the release date on my calendar. I cannot wait!
34Ok, I am really excited to see this movie. I just saw the trailer today and I dont know why I didn't find it before, but now that I see it, I can't wait to watch this movie. I have read the books, I am on the 3rd one right now (Eclipse). I am taking my time reading too because the 4th book has not come out yet. But, hopefully this movie is as good as the book because I really hate it when movies are not as good as the books. But..it is expected because movies usually cut off a lot of things that the book has..for example: The Interview with the Vampire, no comparison to the book. Anne Rice's novel was great, the movie was good, could have been better. But, yeah, I'm excited to see this movie.
35i really wanna see this
36I so can't wait for this movie it's going to be great!
The books are amazing and I love Edwards character!
