Putting together my list of TV characters who were recast mid-series got me thinking about some current shows that would just be so much better if I could replace a certain annoying, obnoxious, or simply boring actor with another of my choice. How many times have you said, "This show would be so much better if we could just get rid of ______"?
My pet peeve of this TV season was Lindsay Price playing Victory on Lipstick Jungle. I actually really came to like Lipstick over its six-episode run, but Price's acting just always grated on me. More than once, I found myself wishing I could just swap her for Cashmere Mafia's Bonnie Somerville, who I suspected could pull her weight a little more in an ensemble with Brooke Shields and Kim Raver.
What TV character would you recast, if you could? And, bonus question: What actor or actress would you prefer to see in the role?

Really?!? I liked Lindsay Price, if not her character on Lipstick Jungle, but I did not like Bonnie Somerville on Cashmere Mafia.
I don't like Kim Raver though. I never have, and I'm not sure why.
I thought I didn't like Brooke Shields, but found that I really did.
I guess it's all just a matter of taste.
1ohhh LP is the reason I would give LJ a chance...dunno why but she's always bugged me. Like the girl in HS who tries too hard.

the person i wish could be recast on a show this season would be Private Practice's "pete". i just don't like the way he is this leather-jacket wearing "stud" - would a different/better actor change my views about pete? i dunno...i think they need someone more homely looking, since he is the "alternative" doctor on staff - and if addison is changing and all she should go for someone more interesting and less typical looking.
7Price is my favorite on that show by far--the reason I keep watching.
8Agree, love Price. She brings a funky vibe and a bright-eyed freshness to the show that I really like. If Caitlin were on there, it would be three tired middle-aged broads. Sorry, but it's true.
9Weird. I love Price & can't stand Somerville's acting.
10Yeah, I kinda like Price. Bonnie Somerville's alright, but I think that would make the whole LJ ensemble too... similar. Honestly, I think I would recast Brooke Shields, if anybody on that show.
11I would have for sure never replaced Merrin Dungey on Private Practice. She is awesome and had great chemistry with Kate Walsh. And she is way prettier than the replacement
12I agree with most commenters. I love Victory Ford. She is strong and vulnerable. So many roles out there pigeon hole the character. I think LP does a great job of showing a real (albeit beautiful and better dressed) woman as she goes thru drama and success. If a character gets on my nerves too much, I drop the show. Desperate Housewives drove me away 2 seasons ago.
13I can't stand Bonnie Somerville's character on Cashmere Mafia, I would always record the show so I could FF past her scenes. I didn't mind her in Kitchen Confidential so I think it was just the CM character
14Hmm, I'm not too fond of Jennifer Carpenter on Dexter. I'm not sure who I'd replace her with, though... maybe Zooey Deschanel?
15I've only watch 1 epi of Cashmere and caught about 3 of Lipstick. I think Price's character is spunky and stuff, but the way that she speaks kind of bothers me. I think she did this thing with her lips and squinted a lot. Maybe it's just me, but I stopped watching anyway.

17Teri Hatcher on DH - I really find her to be dreadful. I realize that Susan is supposed to be clueless and obnoxius, but I feel Teri Hatcher portrays Susan in a way that makes her quirkiness unbearable. Not sure who I would cast instead - Christina Applegate? I am sure I could come up with better.
18I love LP! She's the only reason why I kept watching that show for as long as I did!
19I like Lindsay Price, always have! I do think that she's horribly miscast because Brooke Shields and Kim Raver are a little older than she is. It feels like she should the baby sister or something, not a friend. I still like the show though. And I love Robert Buckley...he's a hottie! I think he and Lindsay would be hot together!
20i would get rid of jenny, and vanessa on gossip girl, i don't know who the actors are or have anything against them, its just that they are totally unlike the characters in the book... vanessa is aoupposed to be a bald goth film maker lol and serena's brother, he's meant to be older and straight.. chuck is gay LOL
21aw, I like Lindsay Price.. but the main reason I watched the show? Definitely Robert Buckley. WOW.
22For me, it would definitely be to recast Michael in "Lost." A good friend of mine swears that Harold Perrineau is a great actor, but I'm just not seeing it. He's so whiny, I can't stand him.
I think my husband would say to recast Lee Adama in Battlestar Gallactica. True, he's not the greatest actor, but he's sooo easy on the eyes that I don't care.
23I love LP too. She is grating, I'll give you that. But she's too darn cute not to like.
