So, I watched this week's Lost and turned off the TV and. . . immediately forgot what happened in the episode. Why? Because nothing really happened in the episode! I was so excited when Hurley brought out the note and read it to Jack because at least that was somewhat intriguing. Most of the other stuff was Jack stressing out and the Jack-Kate-Sawyer and Jack-Kate-Juliet love triangles which, in my opinion, is getting tiresome.

Anyone else slightly bored by this episode? I do have one interesting theory, however, which you can check out (spoilers ahead) if you read more.
- Here's my one theory for this episode, though I might be reaching a bit because I'm craving anything juicier than just some soap opera storylines and cryptic messages from dead Charlie: When Jack is looking at X-rays, I wondered if they were his own, and if Juliet did something to him during the operation. Yeah, I know, I know, unlikely. But I feel like we're trained at this point to look for conspiracies where there are none.
- Again with an Alice in Wonderland reference (Jack is reading it to Aaron). Alice in Wonderland pops up in various ways in the show, and at least two of the Jack-centric episodes have been titled after the book ("White Rabbit," "Through the Looking Glass"). In this episode, the words he reads to Aaron seem significant: "Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle."
- Jack always seems to have this smug, cocky, inflated sense of grandiosity. As he's reeling from pain on the island, he says "I've gotten us this far," (just you, Jack? Really?) and he later tells Kate that he "saved" her (which, admittedly, might be what happens in a future episode, but still).
- I do like how Jack's beard has become an indicator of time and his emotional state in this season.
- Sawyer has become so tender toward Claire lately. It's so sweet. I love that he tells Miles, "You got a restraining order. Twenty feet."
- Yay for Rose and Bernard. I'm always happy to see them. I do wonder about what Rose points out: that the island is supposed to heal people, not make them sicker. But maybe that's some kind of indication that some people should stay on the island while others should leave?
- Why is Sad Hurley so much sadder than anyone else being sad?
- Finally! Hurley reads the message from Charlie. "You're not supposed to raise him, Jack. Charlie said someone's going to be visiting you, to. Soon."
- That was really sweet of that pilot, Frank Lapidus to protect Claire, Sawyer, Miles and Aaron like that. As one of the few tense moments in the episode, I thought it was great.
- All that moment of Jack proposing to Kate did for me was make me want to watch more of The Office. It's a beautiful diamond, though.
- I knew something was up with that Charlotte, listening in on Sun and Jin's conversations. She's a shady one.
- Anybody else kinda miss Ben in this episode?
- So. . .Christian Shephard is everywhere.
- I respect that Juliet admits the kiss to Kate. It's a noble thing for her to do, really. Makes me like her again.
- It's so strange to see Kate and Jack chatting normally on couches in a house.
- Sawyer chose to stay?
- So instead of dying, Claire might simply disappear with Christian Shephard?

What are your thoughts on this episode? And does anyone else wonder if the guy in the previews (the "I've been dead for 12 years" guy) turns out to be Jacob?

I really liked this episode for some reason! I totally think the guy in the previews will be Jacob. I really hope that it doesn't turn out that they are all dead, though... I feel like that would be a major cop-out. I'm excited to hear everyone theories!
1I think the boat people poisoned Jack. Remember the morse code asking if the Doctor was okay? I think they were waiting for him to get sick.
I really don't want Claire to die, she is one my favorites and Sawyer protecting her is so sweet.
2The "Dead for 12 years" guy is Horace Goodspeed... I think.
3For some reason, I thought the "I've been dead for 12 years" guy was Ben's father...but then rewatching the previews, it's not him but the guy still does look really familiar...
Wait!!! Isn't it the guy that told Ben's father to come work for Dharma? It was him and his wife who helped Ben's parents when she had the baby.
4Haha yeah demeterbb, I didn't see your post until I refreshed the page. But yes, I agree with you
5In the preview, he looks exactly as he did (dressed in the same outfit) when Ben and the Others gassed the Dharma camp, and Ben walked up to him sitting on the bench and closed his eyes.
6LOST writers: Please put the Jack-Kate-Sawyer triangle to rest!! I was really excited during the first half of the FF, because I thought, finally! She chose someone! And then Sawyer creeped back in...
Not that I don't love Sawyer, because I do (he's being so sweet to Claire!). I'm just so tired of Kate.
7I thought this was a good episode, filling in blanks between the trial and when we see Jack call Kate to meet him at the airport.
8So Claire is missing? Is that why Kate has Aaron? ( someone might have already said this, but I don't have time to read all the posts:))
9And BuzzSugar...how can you say nothing happened in this episode.
I sat there saying H**y S*** for the first five minutes after I recognized the house Jack was in.
I thought this was a very exciting episode. LOVED IT!!!
i think they're teasing us with the claire thing... i will be surprised if this is where she "disappears" for good... and aaron is handed over to kate. but we'll see... is christian shepherd really there??? so confused!!!! but i personally loved this episode, was surprised to read on a lot of the message boards out there that people were disappointed.
10luv2blazy — OK, not "nothing," but honestly, in comparison to several of the other episodes so far this season (last week's for example, or the one with Desmond — "The Constant," or the one with Sun, Jin and the baby), this one was way tamer and less exciting. We did get some good information, though, and that's always cool. Maybe I feel like we've just been spoiled with some of the episodes lately!
11I wasn't as bummed by this episode as Buzz....althought I do get what she's saying. Nothing much happend....compared to all the drama from last week. I forget if Jack knows that Aaron is his nephew....cuz when he said "You're not even related to him" to Kate...I was like...neither are you....as far as he knows...right?
12And I'm really interested in what Rose said about the island's healing powers. I'm ichting to know what that means in regards to Jack. He was mega cocky in this episode....but I still love him.
Oh but I'm also love loving Sawyer!...so sweet! But I was wonderig what Kate was doing for him in the flash forward.
What if Claire never survived when her house blew up? What if Claire is a physical manifestation of the Smoke Monster (Like Yemi and Kate's Horse)? Is that why Miles is so interested with her? He does have the ability to commune with ghosts...
13I am getting sooooooo sick anf tired of Kate and it seems like the writers go out of their way to make her show something Im really tired of seeingher ass
Wasnt to fond of this episode btu liked the revelations
14Jonelle29: Claire and Jack are half-siblings. Christian is their father. So Jack is Aaron's uncle
15OK, so how HOT was Sawyer last night!?
I love that he's looking out for Claire and the baby since Charlie is gone.
I love the flash forwards and I hate love triangles but I have to admit I was disappointed tat Kate picked Jack! I'm like how can you pick Jack when Sawyer is so damn sexy!? So it was refreshing to see that her heart is probably still with Sawyer...but it sounds like he decided to stay. Which I totally understand his wanting to stay because he has nothing at home...except his lil girl Clementine that he gave up on, plus he'd probably end up going to jail for murder if he left...whew.
I kind of liked the cryptic messages from Charlie. It makes you wonder if there is more to life. Also makes me wonder if Christian is dead or not and why do we keep seeing his ghost.
AND hello what the hell Claire left her baby! How many times can this chick be kidnapped? Maybe she's a much more important part to the show than we realize. I mean she was actually able to give birth on the island.
And the whole thing with Miles seeing Jacks dad. Was that his ghost buster skills or is he alive?
Once again I left the episode thinking WTF is going on? LOVES.IT.
16"Jonelle29: Claire and Jack are half-siblings. Christian is their father. So Jack is Aaron's uncle"
True but Jonelle's point is that Jack doesn't know that he's related to Claire so you have to wonder if he found out and how?
17I think this episode was an excellent set-up episode. I think it laid the foundation for stuff that will be revealed in the final episodes of the season.
18I missed Ben too, and Desmond! However, I thought this episode was GREAT!! The scene with Hurley and Jack gave me chills...so good! And Claire seeing her father, and thinking of Jack with Claire's baby (his nephew) but raising him w/Kate!? Crazy..and something serious is going to go down w/Jack's father soon...him continuing to appear is no coincidence.
Also, I was really surprised to see it was Kate in the shower, I thought for sure it would be Juliet.
Jin's scene with Charlotte was amazing...he is kick-#$@
Also, Rose and what she said...I think she's right. The island doesn't make people sick, it's supposed to heal them...something strange about Jack getting sick there. Can't wait for next Thursday!
19bhild: "I think this episode was an excellent set-up episode. I think it laid the foundation for stuff that will be revealed in the final episodes of the season."
So true, there were some great clues last night. For instance some people have pointed out that the flowers and lady bug pics on Kate's fridge were the same on the insane asylum's wall where Hurley was. Also some people are making a connection to the smoke detector beep and the hatch beep.
There is always so many layers to LOST you can't just watch it, you have to analyze just about ten layers under what you see!
20Oops, you're right hotstuff. This is what happens when I'm really excited and don't read carefully!
I have a feeling that Miles may play an integral role in the Jack/Claire/Christian scenario. Perhaps he'll describe to Jack the situation of Claire leaving with her Dad?? Who knows. But Miles is definitely shaping up to be a very important character.
21BOR-RINGGGGGGG. One thing I noticed is that Juliet has long nails and a French manicure. Huh? They're on an island! There are no Dharma nail salons. That aside, we didn't really learn anything this ep. zzzzzzzzzz
22i haven't read all of the comments, but i thought this was a really great episode in terms of getting answers. like why kate and jack were estranged in the season 3 finale airport scene, that jin doesn't die (it's implied), what order most of the flashforwards were in (we now know the season 3 finale is the latest-time wise and that everything else has happened before), and rousseau and karl are dead (well, at least karl; that woman didn't look like danielle)! and claire seeing her dad; creepy! i thought this was a good transitional episode, though not action-packed.
i know i shouldn't plug another web site, but doc jensen at ew does a really great post-lost write up. i really encourage die-hards to read it b/c it's insightful in ways i'm certainly not, especially when i'm blown away by an episode and am still reeling.
23OH, and it also implies that jack found out about being claire's brother ("you are not related to him! (aaron)")....
24I'm dying to know where/why christian took claire...
25Um, what about how the Smoke Monster didn't actually kill the guys from the boat? It sure sounded like they were killed. So what did the Monster do with them, just throw them around a little? I keep thinking it was getting information from them, kind of like how the Monster flashed pictures of Eko's life in front of him. I don't know, this one has me way puzzled.
And the whispers that Miles can understand? So does that mean that whenever someone hears whispers it means that another person died in that spot?
Now Jack and Ben have both gotten sick on the island, where supposedly no one gets sick. Hm.
I was quite happy that Locke was not in this episode. I seriously dislike him now. I did miss Sayid though.
I think this episode had more in it than you think. Someone already said this and they're right, but it really did set us up for more story lines.
26I thought all the TV shows last night were just ok. Good, but not great. But maybe that's because last week's episodes were so incredibly awesome.
27I found the Jack and Kate scenes really dull.
It really frustrates me with how idiotic characters can be. If I were Jack, I'd have probably gone back to Hurley...or maybe mentioned it to Kate? But no! Jack has to drink and take pills and yell.
I am intrigued about the Charlie thing (as I was from the previous episode where Charlie appears to Hurley), and what Kate is doing for Sawyer. I do wonder whether this has something to do with Claire and Aaron.
I don't think Claire is going to disappear off with Christian, but I do think that perhaps Miles' connection with the dead was how he knew that Claire wasn't alone...unless he just figured that since Claire said 'dad?'
28I did figure during the last episode that Sawyer couldn't go to the cabin since Christian was there last time. He'd be able to immediately say "I know him, that's Jack's Dad".. and well, that'd be ruined
ooooooooo good catch bellasugar with Juliet's nails. I will need to watch again.
29I was already prepared for Sawyer dying, since he's become so sympathetic, but after the way Kate talked about him, I think he lives. Sigh. Quit playing with my Sawyer emotions!
30I agree with MsDee and others. I am over Kate and her drawn out love triangles.
However, Christian Sheppard is one creepy mofo! I liked the eerie scenes with him. I think that if you cut all the Kate and Jack fluff out the story left gets closer to the good stuff - Hurley says they're dead ans the producers said repeatedly in interviews that the island is not purgatory, heaven, or hell. But they never mentioned anything about the "real world"
Also, the guy in the prievew is one of the guys from the original Dharma initiative that Ben killed. De Groot? Godspeed? I don't remember.
31I think Claire may already be dead. Sad, I know. But that's why I think Miles kept staring at her (prompting the restraining order). I think we're going to get some more answers about the dead not being quite dead on the island... a Boone and Shannon return anyone? Ana Lucia and Libby? I bet all these people make a comeback. And it will be with a bang.
32Jack & kate are annoying and a boring couple. When it was kate and sawyer things were more exciting and fun. I really hope sawyer doesnt die. Hes the only good thing left on the show. i just want him to be happy
33Jack & kate are annoying and a boring couple. When it was kate and sawyer things were more exciting and fun. I really hope sawyer doesnt die. Hes the only good thing left on the show. i just want him to be happy
34Did any one else crack up when Kate said that she did not want Jack around "her" son? Thank you Jake for reminding her!
35I liked it. Watching the end literally made me whimper. Christian Shepard...wtf! I wonder if Miles is the only other person that can see him.
36last night blew my theory that rousseau wasn't dead. i don't really know why but i always found her intriguing, and i thought i read somewhere she still had a flashback episode coming up. oh well.
i'm with you all, i'm tired of the jack-kate love thingie. move on writers! and i'm really anxious to know what happens with claire, she's one of my favs!!!
all i wanna say is if the show ends by saying that everyone is really dead i'm gonna be sooooo angry. such a cop out.
37HOW MUCH I WAIT FOR MY LOST EPISODE EACH WEEK!!!
Yesterday we had some information really interesting even if it looked like a episode just based on Jake/Kate.
The second Jack went down the stair i just jumped and said KATE'S HOUSE!!!! I wonder if he knows Claire is his half sister.
It's nice to see how Jack's depression started (yet I am sure there's more to come).
Love Sawyer protecting Claire.
Claire leaving the baby?? NO WAY! Kidnapped? AGAIN? They are teasing us with Claire, at every moment we are waiting for her to die but there may still much more to develop...
Ok Miles and Jack's father creep me out. So strange.
Funny how I missed that Ben but not just him, everyone! Desmond, Sayid, Michaeal and Hurley!!
Yeah to Jin!!! It is sad how some of the characters as Jin, Sawyer, Hurley do not play an important role right now (but in the flashfoward Hurley does.)
Oh I agree with you Demeterbb! I was thinking the same!
38Can't wait for next week!
So now I think anyone who is dead can come back to life. Godspeed or whatever his name is was dead for 12 years! Anyone- Pablo, Libby, Carl, anyone who has died and their body is on the island can come back to life, I think.
39i loved this episode!! the flash forwards were amazing.
40It couldn't be anyone who died on the island can come back to life because then Shannon would have lived and even Ben's father for that matter, but then Sawyer and Hurley found him dead as a twig in the VW bus.
I LOVED the direction things were going with Sawyer and Claire. I knew he wanted to stay on the island, and that would have been so great if ....
41Anyway, something must happen to Claire because Kate has Aaron, and is calling him "her" son.
Lets not forget Miles' backstory. He is something like a ghost whisperer, with paranormal psychic powers.
42Yawn, this one was a real downer! The cheesy dialogue really had me cringing. I kept praying a meteor, or an alien or a leprachaun, or SOMETHING would come infuse the spooky LOST ruckus we know and love. Well, there's always next week.
43Yeah, I missed Ben too. I have a sort of affection for him at this point. He's just always interesting.
44I agree, this episode wasn't totally boring and uneventful, but I did miss some of the drama that we've gotten used to. I am also incredibly sick of the Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle. I'm so over it! And frankly, Kate in general kind of gets on my nerves, lol
I don't think that they're going to get rid of Claire quite yet, although I though it was interesting how someone else suggested that perhaps Claire didn't survive the house blast and she's just a manifestation.
Anyway, I can't wait to see next weeks ep!
45I totally agree with omega about Kate. She really gets on my nerves. She is so incredibly irritating how she can't decide and then in this episode, why couldn't she have just been honest with him about Sawyer instead of doing her whole bit again with the drama and the crying, etc? Ugh! It did imply that Jack knows he is related to the baby though. Very interesting. I can't stand that red haired girl who came on the helicopter. She is such a witch!
46Time travel. It's beyond obvious at this point for me.
47Did everyone miss the scar thing? If Jack had his appendix out on the island - where's his scar when he gets out of bed and wraps the towel around his waist in the 'flash forward'?! He would have a whopping scar there for years. But there's nothing. Things like that take Lost WAY above soap opera. When you think there's 'nothing' going on, that's when they're planting the most mind-blowing stuff.
48good point about the scar, carewcha.
and now I think that they don't come back to life, I just think the island or Jacob can choose to take their form and have someone see them. Like Jack's Dad and Hemi in the earlier seasons, and now Charlie, Jack's Dad, and maybe Godspeed? They just leave it open for any dead person's image to be seen and heard (usually only by 1 other person), but that doesn't mean they all have to come back. Just a thought...
49Maybe Claire doesn't die (I can hope!), maybe her and Sawyer fall in love and when the opportunity arises she gives him to Kate because the old psychic guy told her she shouldn't raise him.
