It may come last in my list of rundowns today, but Ugly Betty came first in my marathon of TV viewing list on Thursday. What better way to kick off the evening than with that eternally upbeat go-getter Betty Suárez? Hopefully you were able to refresh your Betty memory before last night. It was pretty easy to pick up from where the show left off, and I thought the opening dream sequence (something in the writers' water? Gossip Girl opened the same way this week) was adorable and fun. Here are my thoughts:

- Amanda didn't have a lot going on this episode, but she was still funny reveling in her Gene-Simmons'-daughter-dom by hilariously dressing like a rabid Kiss fan, wagging her tongue, and uttering little "hardcore" lines like this one to Gio when he asked if she gave Betty a message: "I’m a receiver, not a giver."
- Back to Betty's birthday dream: For some reason, when Henry showed up with a horse carriage and Betty asked him where they were, his answer made me laugh and reminded me of something people said in my dreams when I was 12 years old: "We're in the best place ever!"
- Hands down my favorite moment of the night was when Hilda showed up at Charlie's door to regulate (aka deliver cupcakes and tell Charlie she sees right through her little game to break up Betty and Henry). I loved when she shoved her fake nails in Charlie's face, yelled, "These are not just decorative!" and then proceeded to scratch the wall out as she exited the apartment.
- Claire Meade's magazine about "extreme adventures for the over 50 set" called Hot Flash is still making me giggle. Plus, Claire's little tender moment with Betty in the bathroom was so adorable! The best was when she exited a bathroom stall and apologized to Betty with the line, "I try to keep up the appearance I never use the bathroom."
- Speaking of the bathroom scene, we got a very earnest little speech from Betty to Claire (who was disheartened by the fact that Alexis won't support Hot Flash) about picking yourself up and — this part was so adorably nerdy — utilizing your resources! It totally inspired Claire, so in return she gave Betty her earrings as a b-day gift. Aww.
- The Henry-Betty-Gio love triangle seems to be building some major steam, and I'm confused about which guy I'm supposed to root for. On the one hand, Betty seems to really love Henry, but he irritated me with how easily he allowed Charlie to pull the "I'm carrying your child" card. Really, ditching your girlfriend for a baby seminar? And Gio was lovably charming in his working-man kind of way and definitely saved Betty's big day, so right now, I'm leaning toward him.
- Now we know Renee's big secret: She has to see a therapist and take pills to stay mentally stable. And since this is Ugly Betty, and since we got a little sneak peek of next week's episode, this clearly won't be a little garden-variety depression. No, Renee is going to take a sharp turn onto Psycho-Possessive Lane and park it for a while at Violent-Lashing-Out-Ville. I can't wait for next week.
- Aaaand turns out Daniel didn't forget Betty's birthday after all. It kind of killed me she didn't open the gift. I'm still really curious.

So was the return of Betty everything you hoped it would be? Are you as annoyed with Henry as I am or do you, like Betty, feel like he should be cut some slack because of the baby? Does Gabrielle Union look more and more like Vanessa Williams to you every episode? They seriously look like sisters. Also, do you really think that a baby born of stolen, dead-man semen will really count as a Meade heir? This plan strikes me as fundamentally flawed on many levels.

GIO!!! Pick him Betty!!!
1MY favorites, Amanda ("That guy you keep pretending is your boyfriend is on line two."), Wilhemina and Mark certainly did NOT disappoint! Their lines gave me my evening belly laughs. Can't wait for next week.
2I totally agree, LaLa. Gio and Betty would be great together. Henry's great, too, but he's too gullible and weak for Betty. He caved way to easily with Charlie and it took him too long to realize she was playing him for a fool. Go Gio!
3GIO!!! Henry is a nerd, and I rooted for him initially, but now he is a spineless nerd with no sense at all. The baby is going to look like the dentist, and then he'll not only LOOK like a spineless jellyfish, he'll FEEL like a spineless jellyfish! Betty & Gio have 12 times as much chemistry!
4Gio bends over backwards to make Betty happy even after she turns him down again and again. Can't wait to see Christian on next week. FIERCE!
5sisseretta how can it look like a dentist? I thought Henry took a paternity test. Anyways, Buzz I totally missed that scene with Hilda and Charlie. By the way, I think I am rooting for Gio right now, but looks like there is gonna be a show down next week.
6Betty was totally starting to bug me a little before the break, but she was so endearing last night I forgot all about it.
7I love Gio! He puts Betty in her place without being mean and they have cute little banter. I think Henry and Betty together is a snoozefest.
Marc wasn't on his "A" Game tonight but thankfully Hilda stepped in up. The nails bit was hilarious.
8I really loved Henry until they knocked up Charlie with his baby...which I still don't think is his. Grrr...I try to like Gio but I don't want Christopher Gorham to leave the show which would probably happen if Betty picked Gio. I might be okay with it if Betty dated Gio for awhile and then realized Henry is the one.
9Gio! He pushes Betty out of her comfort zone and calls her out when it's needed.
I liked that Daniel remembered he'd forget.
10I'm all for Gio!
Hilda was hilarious with her nails and I died laughing when Claire said she tries not to let people know she uses the bathroom.
11I really liked Henry until the whole pregnant girl friend thing. At this point, it's pretty much impossible to dislike Gio. He tries so hard and Betty just keeps turing him down, it's sad.
12I really wanted to know what Daniel gave Betty for her birthday...
13I'm so over the Betty/Henry story line, all it does at this point is make both of them look like spineless chumps. How can I root for a guy that stands up his girlfriend on her birthday, whatever the circumstances?
On a side note, loved the fondue in a ziploc bag moment.
14So glad I'm not the only one who ended the scene frustrated that we didn't see what the gift was.
15i think i may be alone entirely on the whole Betty/Henry thing...i really want them to work it out, and i dont really know why...also, HAHA on Marc and the chocolatinis!
16avettafawna--that cheese in the ziploc was my favorite moment too! Like any restaurant would ever really do that!
17I forgot how much I love this show! So campy, but so so so funny!
Vanessa Williams and Gabrielle Union look NOTHING like sisters.
18i looooooooooooved gio in this episode.
19I'm kind of for Henry too--ohhh I dont know! But I'm sad they are cutting back on Alexis's story lines---I LOVE HER
20My favorite scene was when Marc was in Daniel's apt and was holding up his racy underwear, and Daniel catches him-Marc then pretends he's lusting after Daniel, hahaha so hilarious!
21The cheese fondue in a ziploc bag was hilarious. I agree with lolagrape though - there's no way that restaurant would give out a doggy bag that looked like that
22nakitabanana27 - I don't get why people don't like Henry either, I really want him and Betty to work out.
23i like henry too but gio is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet and he seems so "real" (on the show anyway lol) i love him!!! and he and betty have great chemistry as well
24Gio + short hair = me likey!
I don't care who Betty ends up with, as they are both good for her.
I too am dying to know what Daniel brought her for her birthday.
YAY 4 Claire!
25Has anyone else noticed how toned down Betty's clothes are?
26Can't Betty get together with Gio instead
27does anyone know what kind of flowers Henry is holding for Betty in the pic/show? I love them and would like to use the same kind for a party setting...
28Henry! Henry! Henry! You know that baby is not actually his... am so over Gio, blech.
29betty needs to ditch Henry.
he got a kid on the way. there is no future in that. and i say that because he is choosing to move away to be with her and take care of the kid . . .there are plenty of people who have kids and do summers or whatever and the kid is just fine.
homechick ruined betty's b-day, and henry didn't even check her.
i say cut off the romance now, just be friends . . .just in case it isn't his kid.
Gio is cuter all the way . . .okay, 82% of the reason why i watch the show is for Freddy, the other 18% is for fashion.
30Betty definitely needs to dump Henry and get together with Gio. They were so cute together watching the "fireworks"!
Hilda cracks me up! But, it looks like she didn't scare Charlie enough because she still stole Henry away from Betty that night.
31See.... i love Henry, but not with Betty. It's all just TOO cute, and TOO easy, and TOO boring. I think Gio is better for Betty. He adds something edgy to her life.... and the way he looks at her..... love it! But yeah, I love both Henry and Gio... but I'm definitely leaning towards Gio.
And I don't see why Henry is falling for Charlie's lies so easily... i mean, it might not even be his baby, right? Or did i miss something?
and SERIOUSLY, what was daniel's gift to betty????? will we ever even know???
