Similar to a few other Tribeca-bound movies like The Wackness and Baghead, Savage Grace was screened at this year's Sundance and I was disappointed to miss it. I adore Julianne Moore and am interested in seeing her in this difficult, controversial role as the real-life Barbara Daly Baekeland, a striking and charismatic woman who married Brooks Baekeland, heir to the Bakelite plastics fortune. The couple's only child, Antony, developed a unique relationship with his lonely mother in which they shared everything and which apparently delved into incest. This relationship ultimately drove Antony to murder his mother in November of 1972.
The reviews of Savage Grace have been rather mixed, and clearly the story is incredibly disturbing, but I'm curious to see how the filmmakers handle one of the most scandalous socialite stories in American history. To check out the trailer for Savage Grace, read more.

heavy... wow, that's was heavy!
1Wow. I have never even heard of this before. Crazy/Freaky story.
Julianne is a great
actress though so I think she would be able to pull off such a hard/deep character.
2WHOA.
3Eddie Redmayne is creepy...not only this but in The Good Shepherd and the Other Boleyn Girl too.
4I'll be seeing this one for sure. Sounds interesting but yes, VERY disturbing.
5Wow. I've never before heard this story either, but the trailer has me adding it to my NetFlix queue right now. Wow.
6Wow, I wouldn't care to see it if it wasn't based on a true story! Sometimes you can't make this up, Freud would've gone bananas. Julianne Moore is amazing, such an accomplished actress.
7wow...creeeeeeepy!!
8Whoa, heavy subject! Curious now though since it's based on a true story and all that.
9Oh my! This looks very controversial, but very intriguing. I never heard of this story, but I really want to see this movie now.
10sounds like an intriguing story! My friend has tickets to Tribeca screening so I'd like to see this one!
