Remember back in the Fall when we got all excited because Lauren Graham had signed a big-time development deal with NBC? Well, bad news: That deal was another victim of the writers' strike.
Graham recently told As Seen on TV that she pulled out of the deal because she hadn't been able to actually develop anything by the time the strike began. "I love the comedies on NBC and I felt like that was the right home for me," she said, "but I hadn’t found anything so I put it on hold."
Graham's worked on several movies since the end of Gilmore Girls, but she told As Seen on TV that television is still "the steadiest job and the best writing for women." Between that and the comment about NBC comedies, it sounds like she sure wants to move back to the small screen. It doesn't sound likely that she'll actually be heading the Office spinoff, as some have suggested — but what could you see Graham doing? Comedies or dramas? What network? Do you agree that NBC's comedy style is the right fit for her? If you were her agent, what would you be urging her to do next?

i wish she would go on the office, or the spin off...i can totally see her in those roles
1i can see what she means. There aren't many strong leading female comedians in movies, but there are many in television. She always gets stuck playing the wife/gf in movies
2Lauren is great at both drama and comedy, a new role would be good for her-must say she plays sarcastic characters really well. I loved her in GG,but her small roles in Caroline in the City and Seinfeld were very good as well. Didn't think too much of any of her movie roles, Evan Almighty,Because I said so, Bad Santa, Sweet November or the Pacifier. All those roles were pretty forgettable and it's sad because she really is an enjoyable actress to watch and very underrated indeed!
3Cannot wait for her to join the cast of another show. I'd love to see her on a comedy with some heart like Gilmore Girls. She is great when she is telling a joke and great when she is showing her emotion. As for the Office spin-off, I kind of hope she stays away from that. Spin-offs tend not to go so well and I miss Lauren on TV!
4she would be perfection on the office or the spin-off. she would be leaps and bounds better than amanda peet. i really, really want her back on tv!
5In a perfect world they would just bring back Gilmore Girls!
6I agree, bring back GG! Let's discuss that, lol.
7If what Pargie said doesn't become a reality, she should come back on another quirky but lovable show.
8i think she is best on tv, personally.
9office spinoff + lauren graham = perfection
10i definitely think she could add a lot to that show. do we know anything more about it?
I love Lauren, she´s a great actress. I´d love seeing her do comedy again. And I miss Gilmore Girls!
