Right on the heels of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Judd Apatow is again teaming up with Sarah Marshall director Nick Stoller for yet another 20-something dude comedy. Titled Get Him to the Greek, this one will also draw from the Sarah Marshall cast (well, and the Superbad, Knocked Up and 40-Year-Old Virgin casts, too) with Russell Brand and Jonah Hill toplining.
The comedy will follow "a fresh-out-of-college insurance adjuster (Hill) who is hired to accompany an out-of-control rock star (Brand) from London to a gig at L.A.'s Greek Theater." I wonder what bit part Paul Rudd will have.
So, the Apatow machine continues to churn 'em out. What do you think about this news? Anybody getting slightly tired of the same kinds of movies with the same dudes in them? Or is Apatow and his band of merry men an endless source of good comedy?

after seeing forgetting sarah marshall I say bring it on. i LOVE these guys, they all crack me up and I love watching the movies!
1I have yet to see a single Jude apaptow film. They look funny, but maybe like the bloom would wear off pretty quickly?
I've got a couple on my netflix queue. Does anyone have a recommendation for the top 2-3 Apatow & Co. favorite films?
2oops, sorry, Judd Apatow!
3I figure he keeps churning out so many because some of them stick (Knocked Up, Superbad) and some of them don't (Walk Hard, Drillbit Taylor). But Forgetting Sarah Marshall was pretty funny...I wonder if the rock star that Brand will play will be Aldous Snow? That would be worth the price of admission right there- I love it when directors keep their stories in the same universe (ie, Kevin Smith)
4I think Judd Apatow is the "hot" director at the moment. He won't be on top forever!
It's just like how Kevin Smith had a string of good movies in the 90's and you also had the teaming up of former SNL people like Chris Farley/David Spade and Adam Sandler/Rob Schnieder.
5Anniekim, my top three are:
The 40 Year-Old Virgin
Knocked Up
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
I was thoroughly unimpressed with Superbad, although I think most people would disagree.
6I agree Phasekitty!! I would LOVE for him to play Aldous Snow again. I also love the whole Kevin Smith-using the same characters in different movies thing idea.
7Whip, my friend and I were just having the convo about superbad and how she loves all the other movies but superbad was a total dude flick and she hated it.
I'll keep watching them until they start to get to the level of ridiculousness generally reached by the Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson/etc. movies.
8Aldous Snow was a GREAT character!
9My top 3 (in no order) are
The 40 Year-Old Virgin
Superbad
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
They are The IT GUYS Now Like the Brat Pack we're in 1980's.
10"I wonder what bit part Paul Rudd will have." I love it! (I also love Paul Rudd.) I say good for Apatow, might as well keep churning them out while he's in demand. My top 3: 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad. (Haven't seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall yet, but I really want to.)
11I HATE Russell Brand and for that reason alone I will never see Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
12he's got it. his comedies are smart and hilarious with a ridiculous amount of quotable lines. his casts are great and his plots are awesome.
13my 3 favorite are superbad (easily tops the list), forgetting sarah marshall, and 40 year old virgin.
he's the best
Personally I think Kevin Smith had only really 1 good movie and that was Clerks, while Mallrats and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (for the 'internet' part alone) were only "okay".
14just saying :S
sounds interesting. i like his other stuff apart form superbad, which was...super bad.
15I really like the movies I've seen so far of Apatow's and I really want to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
My favorites so far (in order):
1. Knocked Up
2. 40 Year Old Virgin
3. Superbad
4. Walk Hard
I have no desire to see Drillbit Taylor
16love it....
17also think he wont be on top forever though!
I hope Judd Apatow makes movies forever. They are all so funny and really not that similar at all.
