Yesterday I gave you some tips on planning your wedding reception music, which can be a challenging task when you try to appease everyone's musical tastes. You and your friends might have a different perception than your grandparents of what constitutes fun dance music — perhaps more "Golddigger" and less "String of Pearls." Yet if you truly want to make the oldsters happy and have a fabulous, danceable playlist (even for people who don't know how to jitterbug), check out my Oldies-But-Goodies Reception playlist.
From The Temptations to Sinatra to Louis Armstrong, you'll be able to shake your moneymaker and make your great aunts smile, so to take a listen, read more.

You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You was on my wedding playlist! We used the Swingers movie soundtrack actually.
1Actually I would have Frank Sinatra play to please myself, not someone older. The music I listen to spans multiple decades going back to the 1920s.
2awesome idea radarkitty.. i may have to copy you for my july wedding.
3My Girl, for sure! Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett would be great too.
4Our first dance is going to be to to "Love Is Here To Stay" by George Gershwin. I found a CD that had a recording of it sung by Gene Kelley. It's amazing. Etta James' "At Last" is definately on my playlist, as is "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong and "My Girl" by the Temptations. I'm hoping to add some Sinatra in there to, especially since my Dad likes Sinatra.
