Now, I'm as happy as the next gal that our beloved Vaughn Michael Vartan is getting work. And yet. . . a crocodile horror movie? Really? Well, OK, maybe it'll be the next Jaws. Or something.
Take a look at the trailer for Rogue, which opens this Friday April 25, and tell me: does it look like a fun-scary movie? Or just kinda dumb?

It does look a lot like Jaws...
1i am excited to see michael vartan!
2Kinda reminded me of Tremors. But with water.
3Yep, this looks like a real snoozer. Ugh. I hanker for a new horror flick that is actually. . . well, you know. . . *thrilling*.
(Not that I expected this trailer to be better than a total bore, considering the material -- what a stinky hunk of cheese. Vartan seems poorly cast here. He must've been gravely in need of work to accept this role.)
4It doesn't look scary in the least, but I'll watch it.
5looks like jaws just lamer
6I'll watch it when the dvd goes to my queue... but its sorta Lake Placid meets Primeval-ish to me
7Does anybody remember that movie in the Amazon with the giant snakes or something? It looks like a replica of that movie, but in Australia and crocodiles.
8I just hope nothing happens to that dog!
9Sounds a LOT like Primeval to me
10I think it looks like SO much fun! But then, I loved Lake Placid.
Well, the director knows how to make a horror movie. Wolf Creek is one of the scariest things I've seen in a very long time. *Shivers*
And I love Radha Mitchell and Michael Vartan!
I, for one, will see it in the theater!
OT p.s. is this scarlet thing fake? anyone? it's really starting to irritate me.
11"Primeval" actually wasn't that bad, but that doesn't mean make another croc movie. WACK!
12i am terrified of alligators/crocodiles so i will watch it for a good old fashioned thrill, i dont expect it to be oscar worthy
13It amuses me when I read posts saying that it is just another croc movie, well isn't everything on the screen these days either a rehash of an old movie or a story about the same theme - name the genre and you will see 100's of movies around the same theme. I was lucky enough to see this movie in Australia it is true to its genre (accepting you understand what that means, if not try to find some of Greg McLeans interviews about the genre). Yes its about a group of tourists but it is clever in how the story unfolds. I particularly wanted to see the movie because it was Australian and Michael Vartan (as wonderful as he always is and really yummy in this film) was in it. And when you read how difficult it was to make you have to admire the actors and crew and appreciate the movie more. Its quite different from most movies of this genre, the scenery is magnificent, there is Australian humour (hope you understand it), the attention to detail is brilliant, the movie is somewhat quirky and finally the beast is life like and certainly of the size that a croc grows. Full marks for a well made and great movie.
