Wednesday's episode of America's Next Top Model proved that if you can emerge from this competition with your sanity and self-esteem intact, you deserve more than a few oddly placed Cover Girl commercials. You deserve a medal of honor.
The girls endured one of the meanest Tyra pranks to date when she dangled a beautiful private jet in front of them and then quickly yanked it away, maniacally informing them that they were in fact flying commercial to their secret international location (no doubt crammed into the back of the plane near the bathrooms). I know that's what making good reality TV is all about, but there are suspense-building gimmicks and then there are Tyra's little games, which I can't help but think are more for her entertainment then ours.
The most drama of the evening, though, centered around Fatima stressing out about her travel papers, as she is not a U.S. citizen and knew ANTM would be taking off for some exotic locale any minute. Her appointment to get her papers conflicted with the photo shoot and she literally had nothing to show come panel. Mr. Jay seemed to feel strongly that this was something she should have taken care of earlier and it was highly irresponsible of her to wait. What do you think? I'm completely jealous of the international destination, and this week's challenge looked fun as well. Plus, was it just me or were the photo shoot outfits totally gorgeous and enviable for once? 6 out of 11, even though I haven't seen a single episode of this season (they're not showing it here yet), not bad.
"Germany's Next Topmodel" was on just now and I'm SO jealous of the girls. They're going to Australia (Sydney, I think, it wasn't all that clear) next episode and they've already been to Barcelona and New York this season (and a few of the girls also went to Paris and Tel Aviv). Maybe I'll post a recap tomorrow.

2I've never seen this show, but I have to say, the episode title KICKS ASS.
3so i thought it was so mean and uncalled for tyra to pull the whole 'oh we are super VIP's and get to ride first class but you all get to ride commercial' thing. it wasn't particularly funny, just mean. i thought that fatima should have had all her paperwork in order before she ever got onto the show and should have been voted off for unprofessionalism.

5Whatever, I love America's Next Top Model, the girls have more issues than Tyra put together and are more meaner than Tyra could ever be on that show, didnt watch that episode yet, some ppl take things way to literally and always ready to critize....nothing to say about Fatima...she's just something else.....

8I think Stacey-Ann AND Fatima should have gone home. And please, there was no way Tyra was about to let the girls fly on a private jet. They'd for sure get in the way of Tyra's fierceness and fabulousness.
I totally cringed at Dominique's mistake. Out of all the girls, somehow I knew it was going to be her to mess up the name.
9How could ANTM even let someone on the show without the right travel papers?!? Everyone knows eventually the move to a location abroad. Buzz, the photo shoot outfits were gorgeous. Kat's was the best.
10Buzz, you talk about Dominique appearing dim as if it's something new! She's been dim since the first day. That's when the constant rambling and talking in the third person began!

13K is For Kait - I know, I think all the third person talk was one thing but when she was on that red carpet she struggled and I was a thrown off by that. Apparently this is someone who can talk the talk, but can't walk the walk.

honestly i think fatima should've done this before the show or previous weeks not at the day before she has to live for rome. the only thing i can think of is she has never seen the show so she's oblivious about traveling outside the US, but i just don't believe it one bit that she hasn't seen the show. it's already in its tenth season and they do marathons of it in mtv and vh1. watching just one season of it would be enough. i think that was irresponsible for her AND she should be the one out.
17k.. not sure why everyone thinks the plane thing was "mean".. i agree, make them ride in coach, let them experience what other girls who are just starting out do.. they obviously didn't seem upset.. i wouldn't have been either, i mean it's flipping rome, i really wouldn't care how i got there..
it would have been to predictable to kick fatima off b/c of all of that, but i think she should have handled the travel thing before going on the show.. she also is beautiful, but her photos aren't that amazing..
the only thing i think is ridiculous is that 34 year old soccer mom, domnique who is crazy is STILL there. GAG
18Tyra is soooo annoying this season. I don't like Anya a lot, but Tyra needs to stop being rude to Anya about her accent.
I still love Katarzyna the best. I never really liked Fatima but I felt bad for her about the travel papers thing. The producers should have checked up on that beforehand. I think Stacy-Ann was the right person to go but Dominique needs to go soon. She looks like she is 10 years older than she is and her hair is downright horrendous.

21I agree with Nina. Tyra is so damn full of herself. All she does is talk in voices. She has her ghetto voice, her serious preachy voice (where she is obviously talking down to the girls as if they are idiots), and her silly crazy voice.
UGH. Over it. Why do I continue to watch?
22Am I the only one who would LOVE if the girls stayed in one of those crappy modeling apartments rather than a super hotel once they get to Rome? I just think it's a lot more realistic and more interesting.
23Other than that, ANYA AND KATARZYNA. even if one of them talks a bit strange and tyra butchers the other ones name CONSTANTLY.
I would think that it would be a requirement to have the proper paperwork in order to be eligible for the show. I'm still on the fence about Fatima. Anya and Katarzyna are definitely growing on me, but I'm still rooting for Lauren! Dominique needs to GO HOME!!!
