Well, as of this morning's announcement on the Today Show, it's really official: The New Kids on the Block have reunited, confirming the rumors from earlier this year. The former heartthrobs — who seem like they shouldn't be called "new kids" anymore, but oh well — will record a new album and head out on tour. Donnie Wahlberg promised: "We’re going to dance, we’re going to sing, we’re going to do it all."
Judging from the crowd's reaction on Today, it seems like the guys still have some fans. Check out the video and let me know: will you go see them on tour?

No
1no, i was listening to way different music back then and I pointed and laughed at those people wearing overalls with one strap undone
2I was never into boy bands as a pre-teen. Though I do like Donnie Wahlberg's acting work, i.e. Band of Brothers.
3HECK.
YES.
I was a huuuuge fan and begged my parents to let me go to a concert back in the day. Of course I was like 8 so they didn't let me, but this is a chance to relive that moment I never got.
If they are anywhere in the tri-state area of where I live I will probably be there - with my crimped hair in a side ponytail.
4I don't get it. Donnie has built up SUCH a respectable body of acting work, why would he go back to singing? Loyalty?
5I was past the age to dig them.
6That Jordan was such an ass on the Surreal Life (too sad that I know this) it would put me off anyway.
I can't believe it's been 20 years! But yes I will be there with my big NKOTB botton on my shirt.
7Nope, most of the girls my age were obsessed with them but I was never a fan. I was too busy dying my hair black and listening to Depeche Mode and the Cure.
8I wont.
9I always liked all different types of music and I loved them as much as I loved my Bon Jovi. I will definitely go see them!
10I'm so there! It gives me a chance to be 11 years old again.
11I'll pass.
12LOL, they're hardly kids anymore. THis is one tour I'll gladly pass on.
13Yes! do you the cities and tour dates, Buzz?
14No thanks! Didn't like them then, don't like them now. I'd rather see Menudo! Well, not really.
15the singing was okay i guess. i thought the dancing was embarasing. i don't like boy choir/drill teams, and since they play no instruments that's kind of what they seem like to me. not going.
16WOW, so crazy to see them all together again.
I was a fan back then, but really because that was The Big Thing when I was seven. If you were a little girl, you had to like New Kids on the Block and have the dolls, the sleeping bag, the lunchbox, etc. Listening back to the music in later years... it's not dreadful, but it's nothing more than uninspired pop either.
I saw Jordan at a club one night when I lived in Boston. That was surreal - he was my favorite New Kid. But Joey's looking pretty cute these days.
17Puh-leeze!
18Never liked those sirupy boys band groups
19I just laughed so hard.. they seem way too old. If you're pushing 40, it's just humorous to call yourself a new kid on the block!
20I was about 10 when they were really popular and I guess I was on the bandwagon. I would totally go see them just to see what's up now. Thae same reason you go to High school reunions right? To find out who is doing well and who is a loser now. I really wonder how they convinced Jon to do this since by all accounts he didn't like it when they did it the first time. Weird
21HECK NO!
22I didn't think that would be so excited for a NKOTB reunion but when I saw them on the Today Show I was REALLY excited to see them all back together again, I can't wait to hear the new album I hope it's current and good!
23Hey Bran, I was wondering the same thing...didn't he have an anxiety disorder or something?
24I said other. I was a fan, but I never went to a concert. I will continue to be a fan, but I still won't go to a concert of theirs. There is a lot of other musicians I would rather see than these guys.
25YES!! I can't believe they are back ! And I cannot believe how excited I am about this, I am totally regressing! LOL
26
Nope. They should call them old men on the block.
27I have gone back and forth in my mind on this one. I'm excited but then again I find it sad... reasons being:
In elementary school I LOVED NKOTB, I saw them in concert THREE times (call me spoiled), I was certainly obsessed. Once I got to Junior High I completely dropped them though... they weren't very "cool" anymore by that time.
I think if they can some how change their name to something more adult and leave out the dancing they can be a respectable singing group. Lord, I really hope they leave out the dancing, the thought of watching Donnie Walhberg dance to "The Right Stuff" horrifies me.
I'm also not sure if the loyal, old school fans can take them very far. Although all still very handsome, actually better looking than in their earlier days, I think they are far too old to gain new teenage fans. On the other hand I feel that the old fans might be excited but could be too embarrassed to buy a concert ticket.
In my opinion... Jordan, basically the "leader" of the group, is an egotistical a**hole and probably had a lot to do with all of this since he has yet to have a decent career.
Joe McIntyre still seems very sweet but he needs a career boost as well.
As for the other three (Danny, Donnie and Jon) I think they definitely had to be convinced... I don't think they were all for it right away.
Donnie is a successful actor, Jon is into Real Estate and from what I know Danny is a music producer or something along those lines.
I really feel bad for Jon because he does have some sort of anxiety disorder and just always, always, always looks uncomfortable on stage... whether performing or even doing an interview. I hate that he was probably talked into it and put in a situation he doesn't want... but doesn't want to be the bad guy and prevent the reunion from happening. I bet he was out numbered.
I did see them on "The Today Show" and I will have a better opinion when I watch their first performance on May 16th... I'll even tape it.
I hope they can prove me wrong on my negative points... I really, really hope so.
28*Sigh*
I'm there.
I can't help it.
I gotta go.
29Of course! MC Hammer and Michael Jackson too.
30YEAH!! I am going in October suckers!!!
