Chris Martin of Coldplay fame is a popular guy in the land of hip-hop. He popped up on a track from Jay-Z's 2006 comeback album Kingdom Come, and he teamed up with Kanye West for "Homecoming" on Kanye's most recent album, Graduation.
The new black-and-white video for "Homecoming," which features Kanye and Chris Martin (as mostly an outline of himself), is a refreshing change of pace from some recent videos that seem like frantic strobe-lit messes of neon colors. It may make some people yawn, but I find it to be a welcome change.
Plus there are random shots of Common throughout, and Common's really easy on the eyes.

I like it. Common looks good and I love Chris Martin.
1Homecoming is one of the best songs on the album, I think, so it's about time he made it a single. I know Kanye is a cocky little bastard, but I am so excited to see him in concert. I love his music.

18I have to be honest, as obnoxious as Kanye can be, he knows how to craft a fine song. Hey.. anyone else think that at times Chris Martin sounded liked Sting? I keep scratching my head as to what the sample is.. kinda feels like an early 80's tv theme song.. I do feel Kanye's rap was like a beat off, but I'm also watching Gremlins 2 right now and not fully paying attention..

Wow, Chris Martin isn't afraid of taking risks. He made that song with Nelly Furtado, Jay-Z and now Kanye, and all of them have been great.

21I only saw a snippet of the video and I really like the idea of it.
The song sounds exactly the same the whole way through it (if you click ahead in the video when watching online it doesn't sound like you missed anything)... so it might get old quickly for me.

He also wrote a song for Jamelia (See It in a Boys Eyes) which was pretty amazing.
