As you probably saw earlier today, it's wedding season here on the Sugar Network, and we're kicking things off with an engagement theme. While many of the other Sugar sites will have all kinds of practical advice for the newly engaged, I wanted to take a moment to escape into pure fantasy. Which couples from movies, TV, and even books were you glad to see get engaged?
Personally, I always swoon when I think about Carla and Turk's engagement on Scrubs. Things didn't go so well for Turk the first few times he asked (here's one of his sweet but misguided public displays of affection), but finally, Carla gave in and let him pop the question for real. That scene proves that you don't even need dialogue for a proposal to be sweet — though an Old '97s song can help. Chandler and Monica on Friends will always hold a special place in my heart, as do Felicity and Ben, though it didn't turn out great right away. I also loved Sidney and Danny's ill-fated engagement, but Vaughn's and her's was even better on Alias. There are just so many!

15Monica and Chandler made me bawl. I am not afraid to admit it. When he opens that door, and Joey gives him that look, then she says "You said you wanted it to be a surprise." and then when she goes "There is a reason girls don't do this!!!" LOL I just loved that whole thing.
I love Turk and Carlas too. Scrubs is just awesome. When she didn't look long enough at the pregnancy test, and Turk knew before her - that was great. JD had all those people outside with balloons shaped like babies, and then he gets the text from Turk and starts yelling "Abort the babies!!" LMAO

17haha, i'm walking down the aisle to 'question' by the old 97's. my cousin learned it on his acoustic just for the occasion. i didn't even know scrubs did that until a few weeks ago.

24Almost all of my favorite TV couples either got married with no engagement (Ross & Rachel on Friends, Lorelai & Chris on Gilmore Girls - ha!) or didn't get married at all. So its hard to say...but I have to admit Monica & Chandler's engagement on Friends was really cute.
25Monica & Chandler take the cake, though the Sweet Home Alabama engagement was pretty spectacular too even if they don't get married in the end. Though her second engagement would be on my list too!!

Another is how lorelai asked luke to marry her and then they tried to find some booze to celebrate! ha..! the scrubs one is so sweet and funny, too. oh...i also like the
charlotte/trey one where he says "alrighty". 
27I've seen Lorelai and Max and Lorelai and Chris, but where's Lorelai and Luke?!?!?! It may not have been the sweetest proposal in the world but talk about getting excited!!!!! They were so destined to be together...too bad that show didn't get the last season it deserved!

33One Tree Hill with Nathan re-proposes to Haley. It's so adorable. They've already been married but it's just so cute that he wants to do it better the second time and have a big wedding.

Awww, I love Carla and Turk! I was also surprised when Keith faked a trip somewhere else when he really met up with Elliot's dad to ask for Elliot's hand. That was very nice, too.

37Ohh, Big Fish! I forgot about that. I loved that one! And I too love Jamie and Aurelia in Love Actually. I could watch that over and over again. Charlotte and Harry and Miranda and Steve from SATC. I didn't really like Monica and Chandlers, too sappy for me.
