We all love things that others love to hate, whether it's a Counting Crows CD you can't get rid of or your "Degrassi Junior High" boxed set. Now I'm giving you a chance to explain yourselves in a new feature called Defend This. (Thanks to YumSugar for the idea.) First up, ABC's Thursday night show "Men in Trees."
OK, I admit that my main reason for not watching "Men in Trees" is that I think the title is lame. ("Thanks for watching 'Chimps at Sunrise' on the Discovery Channel. Next up, 'Men in Trees.'") And my second reason is that I still think of star Anne Heche as that girl who dated Ellen and then went nuts. I haven't actually seen an episode, and yet all season I've been rolling my eyes at the show, calling it a low-rent "Northern Exposure" or a "Sex and the City" clone deported to Alaska.
But now I'm actually hearing some good things about it. "Men in Tress" has moved into the time slot after "Grey's Anatomy." It's getting decent ratings. It even has a character named Buzz, for pete's sake. And yet I still can't get over the hump and tune in. So, "Men in Trees" fans: What's the deal with this show? On your marks, get set, defend!

I love this show! It has just the right amount of drama and comedy to keep me satisfied and coming back for more.
1I can't, I haven't seen it enough, I get out voted. I liked the idea tho.

I've only half listened to it since it's on after Grey's, but maybe I'll watch tonight. I like this new feature though. Thanks Buzz (and Yum!)
3I really really enjoy this show. I also thought of Anne Heche as that crazy chick, but I'll admit she is likable as the main character. Maybe I'm just a sucker for quirky characters, and basic storylines, but this show is just a nice escape from reality. It's the same type of show as Ugly Betty, and even though I hate 10pm shows (I like to go to bed!) this is one that I stay up for, especially b/c grey's is so serious, it's nice to have something to cheer me up after bawling through Grey's. I recommend it!
4Never seen it.
5My fave new show this year. Give it a shot. Funny characters and yes it is a cross between SATC and Northern Exposure, it's still well done. Oh and hot men too!
6The parts I have seen did look good, and she seemed good in the part.

It is a totally "chick" show. I have seen some of the earlier episodes and liked them. There are some really interesting characters in the show. I love the radio guy. It can also be quite funny at times. However, for me, the Jack and Marin, will they or won't they get together plot is tiresome and overdone.
8I felt really down on this show too, until I caught it by accident and got sucked in. It's breezy and light, esp after Grey's, and Anne Heche is totally likable! Plus, they use their setting well, in much the same way that Sex in the City did with New York. Alaska really becomes a character here, which is great.
If you want something easy to unwind with after Grey's, you can't do much better.
9I love this show too! I'm so happy that they moved it to Thursday after Ugly Betty and GA, Thursday night Rocks!
10My bf and his best friend made me watch it! It's actually pretty cute but I was surprised that the guys like, but they do.
11While it isn't of the same quality, this show is my substitute for Northern Exposure. It still has the quirky Alaskan characters and a city girl trying to find her way--although much less begrudgingly than Joel Fleishman.
Also, I think James Tupper is the perfect mountain man!
I'm kind of addicted, I must say.
12I love this show... those who haven't seen it, really scould give it a try..
13Can't wait for the next season.
I think the show is great! It has witty dialogue interesting and talented actors. It remains consistant and does not jump all over the place. I woud watch this over Grey's Anatomy's constant bed hopping cry baby crap they put on every week. And Jack(James Tupper) is way hotter than all the Grey's hotties combined.
