I am not sure that it is a snub to Brad as much as I would have loved for him to have been nominated. When you look at the movvie and how Babel went to nominations..ensomble pieces usually
recognize the lesser known actors who shined in the piece.
It was more of a snub to a powerhouse performer like Jack Nicholson..who is probably laughing his ass off that Mark Wahlberg of all people was nominated and not him.
Or Dreamgirls.. I am sure they will feel that it is a snub.
I really don't feel bad for Jack Nicholson because he's shown time and time again how good he is. I think the Oscars realized that it's time to let new blood come through, and Mark Wahlberg
is a good example. There are no small parts; just small actors. Mark had a small part, but he shone in it.
I thought Brad Pitt would have scored a nod, but maybe his tabloid life could have hampered him from doing so. Despite that Babel made a strong show.
I voted for 'Dreamgirls' missing out on Best Picture. That was a big surprise for me. Still, it should be proud for Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson.
I also adore Prince, but at least he has an Oscar for his music in 'Purple Rain,' so I'll be O.K. I know we'll be seeing him at the Superbowl for sure so I'll have my fix of him there!
I have a long list of Oscar movies that I want to see now! Especially Pan's Labyrinth, The Queen, The Departed and Little Miss Sunshine.
I really thought Children of Men would get some major nomination -- if not picture, then maybe directing? I'm not surprised it was left out of the acting categories, though. Maybe it will get
the screenplay award.
I am so over Dreamgirls. The diva attitude that Beyonce has strutted about is gross. I am happy for Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson but other than their 2 characters, there wasn't anyone
else I thought that should be nominated from that movie.
I agree that maybe Brad Pitt's tabloid heavy lifestyle (not to mention is dour live in love) ruined his chances.
I would have liked to see Leo nominated for both of his movies, and although Jack Nicholson is getting old, nominating him also would have been appropriate.
As for Matt Damon, I do believe that he has been in one too many very commercial movies lately (think the Oceans 11, 12, 13) to be taken very seriously again for a role. His last really
serious roll (I think) was Mr. Ripley.
I think Dreamgirls is an average movie and Brad Pitt is an average actor, so I wasn't really suprised by those snubs. I vote for Jack Nicholson being left out of the nominations.
Apart from Jack and maybe Brad - I thought that Maggie Gyllenhaal should've been nominated for Sherrybaby. Also, Sacha Baron Cohen for Borat. Acting is about playing a character and he did
that SO well.
jack! the rat scene with him making the face was classic. i totally thought he'd get a nomination when i saw that. i even thought that would be the scene they used at the ceremony when they
announce the names. i would add leo not getting a nomination for departed, but he got one for blood diamond, so that's hardly a snub.
i wonder if angie and brad will go this year, since neither of them are nominated? i hope they do, i love seeing theme together.

Kristin Cavallari turned one of her favorite Summer shirts into in a perfect Fall layering piece as she demonstrated here on her way to the Trina Turk boutique in LA. She paired this plaid button down with a gray tank, a black miniskirt, tights, and some suede Christian Louboutin ankle boots.
Sacha Baron Cohen not being nominated for best actor is my vote for biggest snub, especially after winning at the Globes.
1Wow..I am suprised by the results so far.

2How about Matt Damon not getting nominated for "The Departed"? I

4I think I meant 'shined,' not 'shone.' 'Shone' sounds wierd doesn't it? lol
5I also want to see 'Half Nelson' for Ryan Gosling's performance. Sorry for all the posts, but I'm excited!
6I'm completely with you on Pan's...i mean the bottle scene...chilling sound design throughout.
I'm really glad that Gosling was recognized for Half Nelson; IMO he's really the only one who can give Whitaker a run for his money.
7While I thought dreamgirls was an entertaining movie, lets k.i.r., it was not oscar-worthy....
8~Let's Go~
I agree about Jack, nixie. No matter, he'll still be front row center at the Oscars, holding court, lol.

Children of Men should've been nominated for everything, including Best Picture. I loved Little Miss Sunshine and all, but come on . . .
And where's BORAT?!?
10I really thought Children of Men would get some major nomination -- if not picture, then maybe directing? I'm not surprised it was left out of the acting categories, though. Maybe it will get the screenplay award.
11For me, it was Matt Damon being ignored for 'The Departed.' I thought he rocked that role and deserved to be recoginized over Leo.
12The Departed wasn't that good of a movie. Matt needs to take some more acting lessons.
13I am so over Dreamgirls. The diva attitude that Beyonce has strutted about is gross. I am happy for Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson but other than their 2 characters, there wasn't anyone else I thought that should be nominated from that movie.

14I never liked Dreamgirls. I was shocked about Leo.
15I think Dreamgirls is an average movie and Brad Pitt is an average actor, so I wasn't really suprised by those snubs. I vote for Jack Nicholson being left out of the nominations.
16Brad Pitt is just good to look at in my book. But I have friends who love his movies, so you say tomato I say tomahto.
I'm sure Jack will be front and center come Oscar night Jinx. Ellen might have fun with him being there for her monologue
17Apart from Jack and maybe Brad - I thought that Maggie Gyllenhaal should've been nominated for Sherrybaby. Also, Sacha Baron Cohen for Borat. Acting is about playing a character and he did that SO well.
18My friend left the thathre during dream girls....
19theathre* but maybe that's just her opinion I just don't see it being oscar worthy

21Nothing for Children of Men except for technical and adapted screen play nods.
22Nothing for Sherrybaby, c'mon! Oh well, Maggie's day will come.
