This time, it doesn't look like there will be any mass uprising to save Jericho. No rallying of the troops from sites like JerichoLives. No tons of peanuts.
No, Jericho — the show that was resurrected by a serious fan mobilization last Spring, returned for seven episodes, and never got a foothold in the ratings — is going more quietly this time. "We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try," Nina Tassler, the network's entertainment president, said in a statement last week, announcing that tonight's episode would be the series' last. "We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen. We're proud of everyone's efforts."
Two possible endings for the series were filmed: one that left a cliffhanger for a possible third season, another that's more of a wrap-up. The one that will air tonight is the one with more closure. The Hollywood Reporter notes that it's not impossible for the show's stories to continue after the finale, but the high cost of producing it will probably keep it from finding a home on another network or cable.
So, all in all, this looks like the end for Jericho. Will it be missed? To watch a clip from tonight's finale, just read more.

Sniff, sniff. Jericho (and Skeet) you will be missed...
1Boy my hubby is mad about this. I just hope Skeet finds another jobby job fast. He is way to fine to not be drooled over on a regular basis!
2I became a fan after I heard about the fan response with the peanuts and the talk of the possibility of domestic attacks in some of the presidential debates. CBS put all the shows online and I have watched them there. It is an interesting, thought-provoking show with topics that some people don't want to think about. My poor hubby won't watch the show with me... he chooses not to think about what could happen if a major city is attacked. I will miss the show. The drama and storyline were entertaining if nothing else.
3i started watching the show after i heard about how everyone sent out peanuts in support of it returning... i caught up online and i really got into it... it's a really smart written show and it sucks when you see shows like these being pulled from tv and the networks adding more and more dumb reality shows / game shows
4everyone sent the peanuts, and didnt tune back in to watch it.
5Jericho has ended on CBS, but that doesn't mean that Jericho can't continue. There are already two interested networks - Sci Fi and The CW.
There is a list of things the fans are being asked to do:

I watched season 1 completely, but I haven't yet watched season 2. I think I wrote it off in my head when they said they were canceling it.
I will watch season 2 soon though, I think.
7Yeah, well all the people with the "nielson boxes" are the ones that didn't tune in, I mean honestly do you know ANYONE who has one??? The new timeslot sucked also, I just think CBS was pacifying us and had no intentions of moving onto a 3rd season. I am very sad!
8I felt like the second season just wasn't as good as the first, so that didn't help. Though the last couple episodes have been better.
9I love this show but I agree with lady penguin. This season hasn't been as good until the last couple episodes. The one from last week was awesome!
10I will definitely miss it!!! I hate when good shows are lost.
11I was excited that it was coming back. I'm sorry to see it go, but as far as I'm concerned it's just more space on TiVo. It wasn't my favorite show.
12best show ever
13i love this show
*sniff*
