Now that Michael Bay has secured rights to remake every scary film, let the casting news begin. There is a good chance that Jared Padalecki, most recently of Supernatural fame, but known to Gilmore Girls fans as Dean, will star in the remake of Friday the 13th. According to Hollywood Reporter, this remake will "focus on the serial killer [Jason], who will wear his now-iconic hockey mask. Padalecki will play the lead, who investigates what happened up at Crystal Lake." Friday the 13th will open on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009.
Dean Jared will make for a pretty young detective but no matter. I'll certainly be rooting for his triumph over evil. Padelecki will also be seen in the upcoming Home for Christmas with heavyweights Marcia Gay Harden (love her) and Peter O'Toole. This guy's hot. Go Dean!

if Supernatural wasn't so scary I'd watch it more often.
2He screams horror movie to me. Wasn't he in House of Wax? He's such a pretty boy.
3Why all the remakes. Sighs. Can Hollywood come up with new ideas.
4It's odd how I'll never accept Jared Padelecki as anyone else but Dean, but I can buy Milo as Peter Petrelli. Probably because he looks so different now than from when he played Jess, but he still makes me swoon

7Wasn't going to see any remakes of any old 80s slasher films until I read this - I might just have to see Friday the 13th now that Jared is in it. Supernatural is one of my top two my favorite shows.
8I love Gilmore Girls. I have a habit of calling Sam on Supernatural Dean and Dean on Supernatural Not Dean. I do the same with Logan and Logan from Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars. It is easier that way.
