So, with this week's episode of Lost, I started out all excited that we got another Sun episode (yay!). Then there was that part with Juliet that made me scream at the TV. Then the thing happened with the person with the chains (I mean . . . what?!). Toward the end I realized that they'd been totally messing with us, time-wise and then it ended with. . . wait for it . . . an emotional sock to the gut. I'm still reeling from this.

Did you have a rollercoaster evening as well? For a full rundown of the details from this week's episode, check out SweetPeasMom's recap. For some of my thoughts and to share your own (spoilers ahead), read more.
- I have to talk about the time stuff first. Making us think both Jin and Sun were a part of the Oceanic Six — I was racing to figure out what that panda signified — was nothing short of awesome. Did anyone else curse out the TV upon figuring this out, but also kind of smile? Well played, Lost.
- And I thought I was so smug when I figured out that hers were flash-forwards before they even said Oceanic Six. I do have to say, though, I took note of how old and clunky Jin's cell phone seemed.
- Also: Yay, Sun is one of the Oceanic Six!
- I love that Desmond can't seem to button up his shirt. I'm not being snarky here, I really do love that.
- My favorite line: "Don't worry, everyone loves a panda." — toy store clerk, after inquiring about whether it's a boy or girl.
- All my newfound affection for Juliet from last week's episode is out the window. I don't care how good her intentions are, that is a low blow with telling Jin about the affair. When Sun is getting the prenatal vitamins, Juliet says, "After everything you confided in me, I should at least have your trust." Well, now she's proven that she'll promptly abuse that trust. Do you think her intentions justified her actions?
- Also, this was great:
Juliet: "Translate for me."
Sun: "No." - Why does Kate have to be such a snot-nosed tattletale? "I'm going to have to tell Jack." Seriously?
- OK, a woman drapes herself in chains and jumps off the side of the ship.
And . . . I stopped breathing for a minute. - I love it when Bernard pops up to say some good-natured things. Who else would you want to go fishing with just after learning of your wife's affair? I think his karma talk is going to prove significant. "See, it's all about karma, Jin. You make bad choices, bad things happen to you, you make good choice, good —" Jin catches a fish. "See that? Now, that's karma. We must be the good guys."
- So, this is Charles Widmore's boat, and the captain is determined to find Ben who is responsible for faking the recovery of Flight 815.
- With all this other stuff going on, I'm glad it was who we all expected on the boat (Michael) and not someone else in a big twist.
- "So I forgive you." I thought that Desmond-Penny episode wrung me out, but no. More tears. More tears!
- Awww! Ji Yeon is born!
- Hurley — in a suit!
- Jin's tombstone states the day he died is the day of the crash, September 22, 2004. As Lostpedia points out, "This implies that the Oceanic 6 have told the world that he died in the crash," and brings up questions about the true circumstances of his real death.
What do you think about this week's Lost? Are you going to need a mental health day like I do?

I think I actually yelled at the tv "ah no you di'nt" when Juliet told Jin about Sun's affair. No right, even if it she was trying to save her and the baby.
The second they showed the Jin/Sun flashback/flash forward I knew. I didn't want to but something between the two looked off, especially Jin's old cell phone. I cried like a big girl when they finally showed it though. Hate Lost for that!
I don't think they were saying Charles Whitmore faked the crash, I think they were saying Ben's group faked the crash and Whitmore is trying to out it. Whitmore wants the island, but not completely sure what for yet. Lots of mysteries on the island that a lot of people would want. Ben was willing to kill people, lots of people, to keep the island hidden but I still can't decide if it's for selfish reasons or not.
I don't really want Desmond to button up. That part is nice.
Was the girl with the chains suffering from the same thing as Desmond and the communications guy and didn't want to wait it out? Or is there another sort of crazy going around? I kinda think maybe the boat is still within mental reach of whatever is in the cabin, that might be why they need to move further out and why Ben wants them to stay closer in.
1This was such an awesome episode! I'm not ashamed to admit that I definitely succumbed to the waterworks at the end! Especially when Hurley shows up and says, "Is anyone else coming?" "No." "Good!" They looked so genuinely happy to see each other.
Okay, a couple more CRAZY theories here, one from me and one from th bf: I think that it's possible that Jin is...wait for it...not dead. His grave is clearly one from the staged crash and they make it a point with Sun's dialogue to not say anything definitive about him being dead, "I wish you could be here," "I miss you so much," etc. Is it possible that he's just still on the island?
My bf's crazy theory came when he actually DEFENDED Juliet, who I detest as much as you do Buzz, by saying that she was only doing it all for Sun's own good. My response was, well Hurley gets off the island and he's with Locke, so Sun could have as well. That's when he threw this at me: Maybe something happens at Locke's camp. Maybe something happens that endangers, or sheesh I hope not, kills Claire and Hurley takes Aaron and leaves for the beach. Then we've got the Oceanic 6 all in one place and ready to be rescued. And given next week's teaser of "Someone...will...die!" I think it's a pretty plausible theory. By the way, I really, really hate it when teasers do that because you spend the whole episode wondering who it will be. Remember when they did that with the O.C. I know it's all marketing and for ratings, but seriously, just once, I'd love to be surprised when someone kicks it.
Also, with all the speculation of that being Charles Widmore's boat, I never saw it coming that it was Ben who staged the fake Oceanic 815. Crazy.
Oh, and they totally got me with the flash forward/flash back stuff because I was gloating the whole time saying, "I told you Aaron didn't count!!!!" Oops
2The joint flash back/forward got me. But ooooh, phasekitty might be onto something with Jin not being dead! That would explain more why Sun was calling for Jin during birth.
3That episode drove me crazy. I was confused as hell, lol. But man, I loved Jin. Then I was mega confused at the hospital. THen I hated him. Then I went, wait, what's going on. Then I started feeling horrible for Sun. JEesh.
4BloodyFuFu — You're right, you're right, Ben, not Widmore, is behind the 815 recovery.
5Phasekitty — That's a really interesting theory about Jin still being alive.
I GASPED when Juliet blurted out that Sun had an affair! Actually, it was more like a prolonged in-take of air, like when someone gets CPR and then gets their breath back. Yeah. Juliet's got some work to do to win me back over now.
6I thought that the flashback/flashforward thing was brilliant. Of course, this made me sob buckets when we got to the end.
I do wonder whether or not Jin is dead. It would make sense that if it came to there being room for only one of them, Jin would do anything to make sure that Sun was able to get off the island and have the baby. (Who by the way is the cutest thing ever!)
7And I'm with everyone that I pretty much lost any respect for Juliet. While I thoroughly understand her intentions (seeing all those women die must have been really hard on her), it was just a horrible thing to do to Sun.
I do feel pleased that I was right in that it was Ben who faked the crash - since Ben had already hinted that the island could produce whatever you needed. Although, a crashed planet and 300-some corpses is pretty creepy nevertheless.
8My reaction to Juliet spilling Sun's secrets, " You are such a B#TCH!!" =) hahaha
I didn't get the whole flashforward/flashback until the end of the episode! (that might've been due to the wine) I feel like I should watch the whole episode again!
Why was Hurley so happy no one else was coming?
9I don't think Jin is dead. I think it's a pretense. They have to maintain appearances. Plus Hurley, who is normally emotional when it comes to his friends and their deaths/problems, was not very emotional at Jin's "grave". He just kind of stood there as if he knew to just play along.
10I'm with Sumbum. When Juliet tattled, I text-messaged my friend: "Juliet is such a b*tch!"
Well, she is.
Also, I bawled like a baby at Jin's death. Guess it's true: Actors who get DUIs are written off the show. Let's hope that Henry Ian Cusick (Chavez! Did you know he's Peruvian British? cool!) is a teetotaler, brotha.
11I also don't think Jin is dead--a) I expected more emotion, and b) I was maturely wailing "NOOOOOOOOO....!" at my television last night.
I was also totally stoked that they admitted definitively that the other crash was staged and that it was Widmore's boat--and, could the 345 dead people under the sea have been some of the Others that Ben gassed? Or another load of people Ben killed with the poison gas?
Also, who else saw Nikki (of Nikki and Paolo) on Sun's TV in her flash forward? And did anyone catch the book that suicidal Regina was reading upside down in the beginning?
12I def think Jin is still alive and on the island- he had that whole ominous convo with Sun that he would do whatever it took to make sure Sun and the baby got off the island and were safe. Sooooo, I am thinking he made some kind of a deal to get her off the island?
And I don't know if anyone else thought this- but when Juliet told Jin about Sun's affair, I started shouting "girl fight! girl fight!" Even though Sun's preggers I thought she should have thrown down with Juliet there.
13oh yeah i also wasn't sure about the "no one else is coming? good!" line from Hurley, that was a bit odd.
14Regarding Hurley's line about no one else coming: I always feel like with all the drama between Jack/Kate/Sawyer, Hurley often feels left out which is why he clings to people like Charlie and Desmond. So I took that cute little line to mean, "Yay, it's just us" or "We don't need the drama queens to have a good time." Just considering the rest of the Oceanic 6 (Kate, Aaron, Jack, Sayid), I would think that Hurley would be more comfortable with just him and Sun. That was just my take, though
15I thought it was pretty interesting that a. Michael is back (?). I've been waiting to find out what happened to him, but where's Walt and why is he calling himself Kevin? Hmmmm.
Also, it was pretty tweaked when Bernard and Jin were having their "Karma" chat, and then they switched to what was happening on the boat, which, conveniently, was called "Karma."
16The boat's called "Karma"? Totally missed that!
17I also think Jin is definitely still alive & on the island. They are just sticking to that story that whoever came up with to tell everyone that there were only the 6 survivors of the crash.
I can't wait to find out why they are telling that story & who's idea it was?!
The only thing that wouldn't add up is why did Hurley want to visit his grave, if he's not really dead and Hurley knows he's on the island, so...not sure about that part...!
18I texted my friend as soon as the salesman said it was the year of the dragon - the last was in 2000 - and asked her is they would do an ep with both flash forwards and flash backs and she wrote back NO. But I ended up being right. I love love love Jin and the Jin and Sun story, but I kinda think that he might be dead for real...that maybe he sacrificed himself to get Sun and their unborn baby off the island...but hopefully he just sacrificed himself by staying back there (?). I just can't see Sun leaving him and being ok with it. I also want to know WHY they had this scheduled time to go to the grave site. Sun has to get off the island within the next two months (before mid second trimester). That would leave at least 4 months between her returning and the baby's birth and I'm sure Jin would have had his burial (fake or not) between the return and the birth of Ji Yeon. So why, at this time, did hurley show up to see her and then say: we should go see him?
AGH Lost! How i love it!!!
Also, on ew they think that Regina (who dove in the water) may have been Naomi's R.G. from the bracelet.
19The boat is named Kahana, not Karma. I thought it was Karma at first too, so I rewinded to check it out. Also, I cried BIG TIME at the end...it's kind of sad how attached I am to these characters!
20I also think that Jin is not dead. So,if the Oceanic 6 are Kate, Jack, Aaron, Sun, Hurley and Sayid...then who is the person that Jack was so upset died? Remember in his flash forward episode where he calls Kate and leaves a message saying that he saw it in the paper and then goes to the funeral!?
21I don't think Aaron counts as one of this Oceanic 6- just because he wasn't on the flight, you know? He was born after. Thus, is there one more person or am I totally off?
22I don't think Aaron counts as one of this Oceanic 6- just because he wasn't on the flight, you know? He was born after. Thus, is there one more person or am I totally off?
23Such a good catch lilprisci! Hurley is NOT one to be emotionally detached. I think it's fair to say that most of our loved characters are still alive on the island. Sorry to go backwards but, I'm still annoyed with the timing thing concerning Kate/Aaron - should would have had to have been like 8 months pregnant on the plane in order for Aaron to be believably her child right?? People who know Kate that weren't on the plane definitely know she was not pregnant. Hm..
24I agree with those who say Aaron is not one of the Oceanic 6. It just seems like a cop-out to me. I definitely guessed that Jin was a flashback, not a flash-forward, what with his crazy hair and that honkin' Zach Morris (well, not really!) cell phone.
So riddle me this: If Ben staged the underwater wreckage of 815, and all the bodies were discovered, how does the world then accept the existence of the Oceanic 6?? Or was the figure the world was told the total number of passengers and crew minus 6? I would doubt that, because then people would be clamoring to find out if their loved ones were alive or not. So confusing!
25I'm happy that there's still that possibility that Jin's alive.
26So the promos for next week said that someone would be dying... any guesses on who that is?
Call me stupid, please, but what is the significance of the panda???
27To briannaNicole's comment - Does Kate admit in that episode that she is the biological mother to Aaron? Perhaps she is claiming to the public that she "adopted" Aaron when Aaron's mother died in the plane crash. Remember that the Oceanic 6 have a story that 8 survived the crash and 2 died on the island. Maybe they are saying that Aaron's mother died on the island.
I do think that Aaron is one of the Oceanic 6 because in the preview for last night's episode it was said that we would find out the "last of the Oceanic 6". That would mean that we now know all 6, and Aaron must be included.
28mandajean_98 - the Panda bear is native to China and the gift was for the Chinese ambassador's newborn grandson.
29Cried so hard last night, that was so sad at Jin's grave. I was just so confused, "LOST, why are you doing this to us??" But today I feel better, I never even CONSIDERED that Jin might not be dead! Love it! There may be a happy ending after all!!
30So I'm assuming someone translated Jins tombstone? Because while I didn't know what it said I thought perhaps he WAS one of the 6 but somehow died once back or something. Mostly because it looked like he had a full grave (casket length) and it would seem wasteful and needless to bury an empty casket.
31Also, as for Michael, I think it's pretty obvious that he got himself an alias and is undercover for Ben. My question is How do they communicate? how does he know what his orders are? Why do some people get the crazies and others don't? So now I'm thinking maybe Walt IS on the island. Maybe he's hanging out with Jacob. Now that Locke and Ben are pals maybe Locke can ask to be taken to see Jacob again. Or maybe Walt is on the other island. Why hasn't anyone talked about THAT? Do the freighter people know there's more than one island??
and why isn't Desmond more suspicious that the boat is Widmore's? I mean that guy was out to get him and now it just so happens his boat is out there to find the island he happened to crash on??
Oh and who's blood was that in the room Michael was coming to clean? Preety yucky.
I also (like Phasekitty) was thinking that the Jin is more symbolically "dead' (still on the island)...I reallyyyyy hope that's the case because I really want their family to live happily ever after...and how freaking adorable was Ji Yeon?? And yay for Sun slapping Juliet upside her head! Cripe, I know she wants to protect Sun, but seriously, she should have just told her her background about trying to save the women on the island and consistently failing.
Alleigh--I am guessing that Locke is the guy in the coffin...but again, I have been wrong oh-so-many times:)
I seriously love this show.
32Tess - I like your idea that she adopted him, definitely didn't think of that! But Kate's mom seems so upset about not seeing her grandson because she's going to die soon, it made me think she believes Aaron is biologically Kate's son and her grandson.
Hmm six or seven?
1. Hurley
2. Kate
3. Jack
4. Sayid
5. Unknown dead person --- driving me nuts by the way!
6. Aaron
7. Sun
Someone doesn't count, and I bet it's Aaron, I'm in agreement with SpeedBump.
33My first thought (after crying like a little baby) was that Jin is still alive. He said to Sun that he would do anything to make sure that she and the baby were safe. Or something to that effect. This could include giving up his seat on the chopper to get saved so that she and the baby could be saved. As well as the 'I miss you' business. That doesn't mean he's dead...just that she misses him.
Nikki was an actress before the island...thus being on Sun's TV. Reruns dubbed in Korean!
Of course the Michael reveal wasn't any big news as we all saw that coming. BUT - where is WALT, and how did Michael get roped into what he's doing?
I'm guessing the baby being born and the Hurley interaction is pre-breakdown and lock-up? Anyone have a time line guess on that?
34considering that Jack tried to kill Locke I don't feel like he would be too upset if it Was Locke that was the dead person in the future. But I could be wrong
35I thought that, but again, Jack is SUCH a softie when it comes down to it...plus just the emotions of having gotten so close to people during that experience (whether they hated each other or not)....??? Anyone else have any theories?? I agree that I was so confused about Desmond not being more freaked by it being Widmore's boat also! You'd think that would have hit him like a ton of bricks!!!
36I don't think Aaron counts as one of the six. Kate said repeatedly in her episode MY SON... I thought that they made a point to make it clear that she was saying it was her own child.
It is possible that in the future, the gig is up that the plane crash recovered in the ocean was faked and 815 really crashed on some island with only 6 survivors or whatever.
Whoever the 6th person is must be the person in the coffin at the funeral that Jack went to (I too think that Locke somehow left the island in the end).
They can't show Walt again... he has aged five years in real life and 2 months on the show, unless the show him in a flash forward.
37We don't know what kind of deal Michael made with Ben to get Ben to let him off the island. I am sure that Ben roped him into being his spy on that boat.
38I have so many thoughts on the episode so I will just do it in bullet form:
39-I really liked the flashforward and flashback thing, I knew something was off with Jin's storyline
-Juliet is a b*tch. PERIOD.
-Despite the fact that Jin forgave Sun awfully fast, it is really cute how he said it and I'm happy that at least the baby is his. (But did anyone else think that Sun looked like she was lying about the father of her baby, even though we know the baby is Jin's? I don't know, something seemed off when she told him)
-Aww the ending was so sad, but I was surprised I didn't cry. I guess I still think Jin is alive
-Now I'm even more confused about who the Oceanic Six is because I don't think Aaron counts as one.
-So Ben staged an entire plane crash? WTF. My guess is that he used the bodies from the extermination and placed them in the plane, although that seems like it would be difficult.
Oh yeah and the Michael thing was sooo anticlimatic.
40I really dont think that Ben used the bodies from the "Purge" for the plane crash. There's not enough people. He told Jack that he had killed 40 people or something like that (I'll find the quote and post it). ALSO the purge was likely in the 80's since it Ben didn't have Alex. Even if it ws in the 90's those bodies are over 10 years old, probably pretty decayed. Who knows tho. Ben's a freak. Oh here's the quote "Not so long ago, Jack, I made a decision that took the lives of over forty people in a single day." No where near the 300+ for the crash staging.
41I kinda felt that Jin was not with her(dead or still stuck on the island) when she went into labor and refused to take off her wedding ring. They wouldn't make such a big thing of it. I hope Jin is not really dead.
42We don't know how far into the future the funeral that Jack attends occurs. It's possible that the person in the coffin is one of the Oceanic 6. It could be Hurley or Sayid. Other thoughts are it could be Juliet. I don't remember if we know for sure that the person was male.
I think Desmond was not as freaked out about the boat being Charles Widmore's because he doesn't remember the island and is still recovering from his time travel episode.
43I think Aaron does count even though he wasnt on the plane. It more of the media calling them the O6 not because of the manifest but because of the event itself. Like six people came back from the events caused by the Oceanic Crash so lets call them the "Oceanic 6." You know how the media likes to give everything a catchy name.
44I'm still holding out on completely disliking Juliet. After all, she has been through losing all of the mothers/babies on the island, which she knows she can't do anything about. She was definitely having a hard time dealing with the emotions of it all during "her" episode.
I think trying to keep Sun - as hurtful as it was - on the beach was her final attempt at saving a mother.
And as we all know, it worked in the end because Sun and the baby survive.
45one more thing that's been bugging me--Wouldn't people be confused once they six survivors showed up?? Like, whose bodies were the six then that were supposedly identified in the crash?? Wouldn't more people question that?
46I cried like a baby! Then I hated LOST for killing Jin, then I loved LOST again because it's so great!
Great episode. I love Jin and Sun's story. I mean even when you go back to season one their overall story is one of the most compelling ones for me. LOVE IT.
I still can't believe they killed him. I'm hoping he is still alive but what would make Sun fake everything? There's obviously a bigger story brewing here with all this secrecy. I just don't see Sun agreeing to pretend her husband is dead though. Also why would she go to a grave site that has the date of the crash? More secrets.
As far as Hurley being disconnected I think he's sick of the island and all the games and secrets that Jack is forcing him to keep. So I can see him being happy no one else is coming.
I always said Juliet was a shady biotch! When she told Jin I was hoping Kate was gonna run, tackle her, and beat her ass for Sun. I yelled at the TV " You Fing BIOTCH". I hate her, she is one who needs to get killed off already! Totally shady and will never ever be trustworthy.
The blood being on the wall in that room was CRAZY. Especially how he was all nonchalant like 'Oh that shouldn't still be there'...CRAZY!
The book that the crazy lady Regina was reading is "The Survivors of the Chancellor" by Jules Verne. According to Wiki it's about a ships final voyage that leaves with crew and passengers but then there are lots of suicides and deaths and only a few make it back.
Glad to have Michael back...wonder what he's been up to should be interesting!
47i'm with tess2530. frankly, the only two of the Oceanic 6 we know that are NOT in the casket are jack & kate. my memory is a bit fuzzy on the details of that episode, but accd'g to lostpedia he meets with her at the airport after he attends the viewing.
48Concerning the "purge" fake crash theory - didn't Locke fall into the pit where all the bodies were dumped after Ben shot him?
49Also I want to say I remember a time when heads would have rolled ...literally, if Jin found out his wife cheated. I also always believed Jin or Sun's dad knew about the affair and killed the guy...remember when he went flying off that balcony?
