Before The OC, The Hills, and the Upper East Side, there was one ZIP code everyone knew: 90210. And now, it might be coming back.
The CW is developing a modern-day spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210, with Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas at the helm. The show's original creator, Darren Star, isn't involved with this update.
What makes it a spinoff rather than just a show about rich kids in California? That's not exactly clear right now — nobody has said which, if any, of the original characters would be brought back. But we might know more by the end of the month, when the CW will reportedly decide whether to order a pilot for the show. For now, though, let's just speculate: Do you think it's a good idea? Could they make it work? And what characters (if any) would you hope to see return?

That is an abomination just like the Lost Boys sequel!
Leave 90210 alone!
1Bummer--I thought you meant they were going to show the original series on the CW. I don't get the soap channel, so I only see it on DVD. No spinoff, please!
2Please just let a great thing BE. I highly doubt that anything the CW cooks up is going to be able to match the original 90210.
3No, I don't think that will work out. You can't redo 90210!
4we were just talking about this in my office and it would almost make sense for Erin (kelly and david's half sister) to be the key character...or maybe david/donna having kids since they are now married? who knows!
5I wouldn't like this, really.
6I'm scared to see the result. If they do a spinoff it would need to be done Degrassi TNG style, with the kids of the main characters from the original. Although I doubt they'd be able to hook any of the original actors into any cameos for a new show.
7oh man. They should just leave this show alone it's a classic! Do they really have no other new ideas?
8This is such a bad idea.
9ummm...bad idea...
10Terrible idea.
No one could EVER recreate 90210, in my opinion. It came out when I was in the 7th grade and I watched EVERY episode of that show, all the way until it ended when I was in college.
It irritates me that they're going to try to do another version of it.
11Oh god no!
12I agree with darkbeauty...the way they did Degrassi really worked...but 90210 was not and is not degrassi. 90210 came out when I was in 4th grade and it was cheesy then in the 90's. I think this is going to be terrible..like "that 80's show" terrible!
13A "comeback" will surely ruin my childhood. Nothing can compare to the original.
14So what is this, the year of the comebacks??? 90210 spinoff or sequel... bad idea! Just as bad as the New Kids on the Block comeback!!
BOOO

16oh my goodness....please do not bash this idea. I have not gotten enough closure with this show and it would MAKE MY LIFE if they did a spin off. Especially with Brenda back!
