The star-studded cast of Vantage Point enjoyed the No. 1 spot at the box office this weekend earning an estimated $24 million. The biggest weekend of the year for Hollywood also helped Academy Award-nominated films, giving movies like No Country For Old Men a significant boost at the box office, Variety reports.

Jumper came in at No. 2, followed by The Spiderwick Chronicles in the third spot. The silly-funny Be Kind Rewind came in at No. 7 followed by Juno, which took in another $4.1 million this weekend. Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins slid in at No. 9 and There Will Be Blood rounded out the top 10.

This movie was NOT good. As a total Matthew Fox lover, i was excited to see this but it was very disappointing. Basically its the same scene told 8 times and not every point of view varies much. By the time we had to watch the scene for the 4th time, someone in the audience let out a "oh no not again!" and the whole audience erupted with laughter. Also there are some extremely cheesy one liners by Dennis Quiad and it is uber predictable. PLUS Doctor Jack is hardly even in it! Save your money, wait for video. Or rent Snake Eyes, same story, but better.
1Hmm... I really enjoyed this movie. Yes, there are cheesy one-liners and identifying the 'inside man' was pretty easy. It made me think about terrorism in a different way. And the perspectives on trust and how that can be upheld and broken were pretty poigniant, I thought. I guess it depends on why you want to see the movie. Of course as a Dennis Quaid fan I completely enjoyed it. The only thing lacking was fisticuffs-- gun violence is so much less satsifying than a good old-fashioned butt-kicking. On screen of course.
2Hmm. I'd like to see this.
3I was a little disappointed in this film, the ads make it sound like it's going to be a suspenseful drama mystery that you can try and figure out. However, once I realized it was just going to be an action film with a gimmick, i fell into place and just enjoyed the adrenaline ride. If you're expecting intellectual stimulation with character development, you'll be sad. However if you go in expecting things to blow up, car chases beyond belief, terrorists who never give their reason, and just all out adrenaline rush/heart-pounding from the start, then give it a try. It's definitely turn your brain off sort of fun.
4I really wanted to see this film, but my mom saw it on the weekend and has convinced me it'd be a waste of money.
Her words basically echoed Briggs313 post above. She said that by the 4th viewpoint (or so) that there were quite a few audible noises from people getting frustrated with the movie and that it only increased as the movie progressed.
5After seeing the almost 10 minute long preview for this film I wonder if there are any surprises left? I will definitely be waiting for Blockbuster for this one, if I rent it at all. I feel like the preview gave every single twist away.
6Thank you ladies for your reviews, I will be waiting for this one.
7I really enjoyed it. It was exciting and kept my attention.
