I love this video for Ben Lee's song "American Television" for so many reasons. It's entertaining, colorful and so very, very 80s. The best part, though? Tiffani (Amber) Thiessen stars in the video, acting out spoofy scenes of various TV shows that were wildly popular a couple decades ago. And she's funny!
From Bruce Springstein to ALF to Doogie Howser, there's a lot for 80s-philes to enjoy here. To watch the video and see how many references you can spot in "American Television," read more.

Cute!!!! Felt like I was little again! =p
1I thought the song was lame, but the video was cute. It was a nice little nostalgic trip through my childhood: Alf, Night Court, Blossom, Doogie...
Black or White was actually very early 90s, but it was a funny spoof.
2I remember when the video for Black or White came out it was all over the news and everyone oooh'd and ahhhh'd over that bit at the end.
All in all I think this video was cute (loved the Blossom and Doogie references especially) but I hate that this song is used now in a VH1(?) commercial to promote what, as far as I'm concerned, are some of the worst reality shows on "American Television." I kind of feel ashamed when I watch it.
3He's coming to perform at Notre Dame this weekend ... or maybe next ... it's one of these upcoming weekends. Anywho, I should check this out and see what he's all about.
4Cute video, but holy jeez write some lyrics why don't you?! The chorus really got old quick.
5I love Tiffani Amber Thiessen !
6And OMG, she looks exactly like she did 1o? 15? years ago...
thanks for this - i really enjoyed watching it. i like the nostalgia in "robot chicken" better, though.
7I love in the very beginning the side shot of the chair - like the old Memorex commerical (is it live or is it Memorex?).
8Ben Lee used to date Claire Danes, right?
