Pass or Fail: 10 Shows That Went From High School to College
High school shows always face a challenge with their young characters, and its name is graduation. Many make the leap to college, but not every show survives the jump.
Gossip Girl is currently wrestling with the transition — and so far, the storylines haven't been able to keep up with those of their high school days. Since it's hardly the first time a show has continued on to the university, let's take a look back at those before
Gossip Girl — and whether they did or didn't make the grade.

I don't watch Smallville anymore, but I think it actually moved to post-high school fairly seamlessly. The interesting one will be what happens to Glee. Will they have to get a whole new cast if the show makes it a few seasons?
1I was so disappointed with Veronica Mars Goes to College.... that show was AMAZING and it just didn't work in college.
2I think Gossip Girls will still do well. The life of an upper east sider rich kid is a lot more intresting then your average High Schooler and I actually have a hard time remembering how old they really are with all the things they are doing and getting into.
3I hope GG gets better; I've still got faith but the writers really need to pull up their socks.
4Your missing Degrassi....I think its a pass?
5I disagree, I think GG is still doing great.
6Totally agree with you about GG. I think everything is going fine all the characters in NYC and all except Serena. She's the only one who doesn't blend in all this... what they can do? No idea, I hope she find a place and something to do quickly because if she doesn't... bye-bye GG.
7I disagree with a couple of these--Season 4 of the OC is actually one of my favorite seasons..I was glad to see the annoying character of Marissa gone, Ryan and Taylor were funny together, and I could honestly see Summer caring about animals. I'm not saying it was perfect, but I enjoyed it.
I did NOT enjoy either Dawson's or Gilmore Girls after they went to college. Ridiculously lavish dorm rooms, manufactured drama, awkward situations...I mean Rory turned into the biggest brat ever, and the Creek kids went in too many unrealistic directions.
