10 Movies That Scared Buzz Readers as Kids

As Halloween approaches, I'm naturally thinking more about scary movies — including the ones that spooked me but good as a child. There's a good reason why parents keep us from some of those scary movies! A little while ago, I asked you which frightening movies you may have been too young to see, and your answers were varied and comforting (I'm glad I was not alone in my fear of The Gremlins and The Lost Boys!). Here I've collected some of your childhood memories of being freaked out. Do any of these still scare you?

Watcher in the woods scared me, NAREK! I was also scared of the scene in the Goonies where they are telling the monkeys paw, which was cut later in the video release (along with alot of the octopus scenes) Poltergeist scared me alot also.

I never saw Jaws as a kid because my mom wouldn't let us kids watch scary movies. (Unless it had classical music in it like scary, ol' Fantasia!) When I finally saw it as an adult, I couldn't believe what a great movie it is!

I am still too much of a chicken to watch It, Jaws, and The Exoricst. Eeeek!As for the Dark Crystal, I had the luxury of my folks taking me to see the puppets and props on display shortly before the movie was released at some event open to the public. I was fascinated by the movie because I kept thinking of how lifeless puppets were transformed into what I was watching.
